The problem with strife animation and jump has been solved now, and it's available on updater.
Is there any chance the strife in sneak will be updated, too? It still has the forward sneaking animation, at least for male Dermorians.

Oh, I'm an oldbie by now? Wow. I must be, for my poor Dermorians Luzino Lemigno and Marliana Evolly are yet lacking pics in MyPlane.

Other than that - it looks real good. I'm sure it'll come in handy in some way. :)

I remember falling to my death on my first day when I tried to find the Bronze Doors. There was a guard standing there and there was a gap in the fence where he was standing. Had to be the entrance to the Bronze Doors, right?

Quite a couple of meters below, I figured out, it probably wasn't. ;-)

Unfortunately the links don't work any more, mediafire only gives me an invalid file notice. Maybe you could re-upload them and update the links?

Side question...
Is it just me or is it impossible to play Laanx and EPZ at the same time? *wonders*
I think you can if you run both client versions. 0.4.3 for Laanx and 0.5 for EPZ. Just make sure you got different config folders for them.

I found a workaround to the slow load for xp home. Minimize the game screen and flash it on and off from the taskbar. Each time it flashes it will load a bit. i got it to load in half a minute with that method by flashing it as fast as possible.

Interesting, will try that later today. In the hope that I won't be greeted with an Access Violation like yesterday evening. That was no fun reward for 50 minutes of waiting for the world to load. :o

Edit: It DOES work, for whatever reason. Now I made it from a partly ever-shadowy arena (changing brightness didn't change anything in some corridors) to the plaza (which still took 5 minutes to load) and am frozen there. Need to try crossing it on a different computer later on, with this one, it doesn't seem possible. But at least I got in! Big improvement from yesterday!

In the launcher, under the graphics tab, try changing the 2 graphics settings to medium and low. This seems to speed the loading up for me hugely.
I set both to low by now and in 5 minutes of staring at the "loading world" screen the blue progress bar has only just appeared. A tiny teeny bit. It doesn't seem like changing the graphics settings has made any difference.

Sorry, this client is unloadable on my machine it seems. :-/

I haven't managed to get in-game yet. I get past char-selection and then it's been loading for many minutes and the bar didn't even make it half through. At this speed it'd probably take close to an hour to get in game, it's loading that slowly (was trying a char at the arena). But before I reached the halfway-mark the server went down again.
I'll try with a char in a different zone when the server is back.
Running WinXP home.

Man... all those years building my backstory... and personas... all gone.....

Still we have the Stats=Character misnomer, wiping the DB wil not remove memories, backstories or old roleplays only you can do that by refusing to treat the wipe as ooc and not roleplaying around the stat/skill loss until you can level up again.

PlaneShift is a Roleplay centric game, stats are there to help your roleplay not define it.

Didn't you read the START of Bamkos's posting, Mordraugion? ;-)

No, not going to wipe the characters, only going to wipe our RP skills.  A inverted wipe!

You might be a noob if... you wonder why no other players can be seen in a MMORPG. OK, it's only the tutorial, but it looks like a town, so where is everyone???

You might be a noob if... on your first visit to the Bronze Doors you think: "Ah, here's a guard, surely he is guarding the path to that place", squeeze through between two posts of the fence (why couldn't they leave a bit more space for passing???) and die from falling down.  (I'm actually guilty of that. LOL)

You might be a noob if... you then think: "OMG - I died, do I have to start from scratch now? All that character creation and tutorial AGAIN???"

General Discussion / Re: What fun things are you doing now on EZPS?
« on: January 21, 2009, 07:40:14 pm »
Not doing much different from the other server, just this time there's no guild. So now I log on to EZPS when I don't feel social. Hm, thinking about it - I could just have created my char on the other server, but then I get confused when I bump into guildmates there with a char that doesn't know them. So it's "safer" this way. ;-)

General Discussion / Re: PVP rogue area.
« on: December 02, 2008, 02:14:09 pm »
I ran into the camp unsuspecting and before I knew what was happening I was dead. I admit - I had not read the warnings. Cause it was night, I didn't even see the warning-thingies in the darkness. And as there is no other indicator of a PVP zone I voted to have it removed. I'm not one for duels or PVP, and I suppose others are not either.

So, if PVP areas are to stay in usually non-PVP surroundings, I need something to make me aware. I'm always prepared for attacking NPCs, but for not getting killed by a player like by a Dlayo [OK, it wasn't with my main char and Kra's a weakling ;-) ]. And with the game growing chances are high there will be more PVP areas coming. And I'm not keen on running into them blindly. So for me this is not just about this area, but the way the game deals with them.

I also support what Prolix already said - if it's a PVP area make the NPCs with quests accessible from outside the zone. I got killed 3 times when trying to deliver an item for a quest. And the outcome of the quest wasn't worth the three trips through DR (or having to tramp all the way back from Gug while suffering from the curse). :-p Haven't even tried to take more quests there though my Kran probably wouldn't mind helping some banned characters... but it's just to dangerous for him. His own life has to come first. And standing around somewhere outside for ages waiting for the camp to be deserted by all players just so I can safely do quests there isn't much fun. And isn't that what a game's about after all?

On a side note: I had the same problem at the arena - I just got killed without having a clue I was in a PVP area. Just pang - you're dead. [Luzino knows who killed him when he was still weak and unsuspecting and he hates this guy for it.] I still don't know if there's a warning somewhere that the area is PVP, I haven't checked, just avoided it.

Wish list / Re: New response to NPC attacking you
« on: November 20, 2008, 09:50:01 am »
I don't see any evidence of where she did go into full defensive and she didn't die in one blow.

You weren't by chance sitting? If I remember it correctly chars don't go into defensive mode if you sit when being attacked. I remember getting banged on by a Rogue when I was sitting somewhere I considered safe. Looked funny, my char stood up each time to recieve the blow from the Rogue, then sat down again and waited for the next blow.

I'm not sure if this is still happening, it taught me to choose the spots I rest at very well so no NPC had a chance to attack me while I was sitting lately.

If it still works that way it would be great if sitting chars would at least stand up when attacked and go into defensive mode instead of just getting hit until they die (if the attacks are that strong). Doesn't seem very realistic to me that you just keep sitting around looking bored when someone attacks you. I would at least try to defend myself, even if that attempt might fail cause the attacker is too strong.
