Absolutely agreed . Kerryk is the best npc ever.

Wise guy and well known adventurer. He's the man.

there are no maps (if you're lost you're lost final)
Naah. There is always someone wandering "here or there" so you can always ask for way, with almost no risk of being ignored and most likely being led to place you are looking for.

talking to npc is much too difficult, i'm fed up with hearing i don't understand you , it's like talking to a brick wall sometimes
I had the saaaaaaaame problems when I was starting . . But I got used to :) And believe me I have ALMOST no problems now.
You just need to know some basic phrases such as :
"X sent me"
"I need Y"
"Give me Z"
or
"about XYZ"

And most likely its going to work that I can assure you.

he accepted but no matter what i said after i couldn't end the quest

i'll wait till this game is out of beta and then i'll try again someday
It is always an option but think about all fun you could lost this way.
Because real fun is mainly about roleplaying.
Good luck
:)

* ElWu sighs grinning

You know I've followed whole discussion here and it's funny somehow :)

It's almost like debating what is more important in lasagne : pasta or tomatoes or maybe cheese :P

What I'm trying to say that both of this elements are important. And as long as they come along together there's no need to make no "siding" :)

Idea of rpg is a conversation with other people as well as interaction with environment.
First one is a roleplay second one are stats. It would be unnatural to just roleplay or just to level up.

Sometimes I don't want to make errands or kill anything, so I just sit somewhere chatting with my friends.
Sometimes I don't feel like talking so I just going to get some hides or do some questing.

In my opinion the most important word here is BALANCE \\o//

There is time for rp and for lvl as well. Just to anyone can do whetever he like at the moment.

Greets :)

new maps are what are you using now, that might mean that nothing but a relight was done to some.

O , I see. So there are no new locations? Or maybe some old locations with new features? :)

By the way I have to confess that new maps DO look like much better (e.g. bdroad2 has all textures now and it isnt walking through the dark valley anymore :)

Thanks for the info.  :)

But I guess there won't be any recourse avaiable?  ::)

My alto is happy of that , my main character not at all  :P
;D

By the way, in some posts some new maps are mentioned. Is that confirmed and if something more is known about it?

Settings
-  Systemic increases to all quest rewards.
- All named NPCs now have one quest a piece.

Could somebody tell me what it is about? :)
Is that mean that quest now have random reward and each npc gives just one quest.? Or something else?

Sorry for maybe n00bish question, but I'm really interested.

I even believe that a little direct talk amoung few people about why things were made like they are made and why some don't like it would help. Forum doesn't seem to be a good place for this ...

So . .?
I don't make prophecies but just making my private opinion. You don't have to agree with that. If forum isn't right place to make opinions then which place is, eh?

and only pi*** both sides off...
Why do you state your opinion as of "both sides" ? Are you representive for them?
If you pissed off by reading other people opinions why do you use forum anyway?

    forum
    noun [C]
a situation or meeting in which people can exchange ideas and discuss things
    a forum for debate/discussion

    (from Cambridge Learner's Dictionary)

@ all And I'd like to stress out the fact that I'm NOT complaining. It's just I can see a tension at "both sides" as every "side" trying to be of more importance than the other. It's just like a debate about which side of the coin is more important, heads or tails?
No matter if somebody disagrees we're both sides of PS medal.
There would be no PS players without PS devs, as well as there would be no PS devs without PS players.
So lets start to RESPECT the OTHER SIDE.
No matter if you dev, set team member, prospect team member, game master, forum moderator, forum member, hardcore roleplayer, leveller player, n00b or whoever you are or want to be.
Let's just make our best.

Wow!... Strange... it's been a bit quick this release...   Anyways it's great! And it's great that in the list there's Linux, too
Quote
There are still some bugs and issues to iron out, but I guess that was the quickest release ever!
Good job everyone!

The quickest but some  many annoying bugs seem not to make it the best anyway.
I know probably changes for better will come soon. But for now it's not seems to be the most fortunate release.
I have to admit that it's my first release so I can not compare it to others but still . .

I know you doing hard work out there, but I think old bugs were less annoying than new ones :[
Not mentioning all new features like books saving, climbing and other things.

Personally I think that in first line introducing new features should been made. For example implementing "new-old" skills, such as CLIMBING. LEATHERWORKING, ALCHEMY, HERBAL, NIGHTVISION and many others . . .
Not banning books saving, disabling "exploital climbing", or doing other strange things.
I always have been telling that power of PS is in rp, but now it seems that rp looses its "tools".
It looks like game mechanics became of more importance that gameplay features.

It's not the best option to say that :
"you players be happy with what you've got because you have got it for free . ."
Ok I agree, but let's act like a team. Where devs are making decisions but still they are thinking about players' fun as well, not only on their "craftwork"

I do not mean to insult or flame anybody, but I suggest :
"LETS ACT LIKE A TEAM"
not rivals or "who-has-right-again".

Lets build up the both sides of this remarkable project that PS indeed is.

Thank you ALL for creating PS how it is.

Harnquist will continue to sleep and do whatever he needs...

Does he anything "other actions" too?
Never seen him going to the toilet during all day work  :P
He has to have a steel (crafted? :) ) bladder  ;D

Ey Luzino cheer up!

I know it's a LIL bit strange but it DID happen already so what could we do . .

Maybe devs are so stuck on testing they forgot EDITED : |don't have time to think| about players . .:)

(no irony intended - I know you're doing hard work)

Maybe just gotta cry a river, make a bridge over it and go on . .

Like my friend used to say :)

Cheer up !

And don't give up !

Rally was great and questions really interesting. Got answers for all :)

Yeah. I have learnt my lesson. No more hanging out with bad guys . .   :innocent:

Even if I had to get rid off some quests.   X-/

So bye bye Z. , D.W., K. and others  :P

I've got a Mission ;D

Yeah, quests are a lot better than they were even month ago. You guys are doing great job.
Less bugs and all. But there are two sides of the medal  :)

First - carrot : Absolutely great idea is that npcs recognise the character by name,  if he/she were doing some errands for them earlier.  \\o//
Thats really fantasic and makes a lot of more like rp not just a 'quest machines'

Then - stick . . I still would like to have a possibility to change some decisions during proccess.

F.e. A sents me to B for x. Then B tell me that he wont give me x, unless I will cheat A. I agree but talking to A I'm changin' my mind and confessing all and we both wonder how to make B to pay for his deeds (yes, yes HIS - you know what I mean  ;) )

I know I probably wanting to much but thats just something I would find really useful. :)
