when you download the new updater, and have it sitting there on your desktop...drag it into the planeshift folder, replacing the old one. then edit it to say true where it says false in the top line then run it. i think that's what i did that fixed it...

Mac OSX Specific Issues / Re: Some Maps Not Working...

Yup, all three of my characters are currently hiding out in these same areas, and the client crashes as soon as it tries to load those regions. So now I can either delete and start over and lose quite a bit of work, OR figure out how to fix it!!! *cries* :@#\ *jumps off cliff...goes back up...jumps off cliff...goes to death realm...stays there*

having the same problem...any time i get anywhere near hydlaa the game unexpectedly quits on me :( so now, all three of my characters are completely unavailable to me!  :@#\ *goes crazy*

Yup I did that, and it didn't work...

Oh and because it loves me EVEN MORE! :'( I downloaded the separate updater, ran it, and got this message:

Checking for updates:
This program requires admin/root or write privileges to run. Please restart the program with these.
In windows, this means right clicking the Updater shortcut and selecting "Run as administrator".
For everyone else, login as the root user. If you don't have root access, contact someone who does and ask them nicely to run the updater!

Updater finished, press enter to exit.

HAHA but I AM the admin!! I checked and double checked and yes, even triple checked...I have read/write access to everything, I am logged into the admin account. There is no reason this should be happening. Does that stop it? I think NOT!

Okay so first, I'd like to apologize if this has already been addressed...I searched and searched, and didn't find anything that fit quite right.

The updater does its fabulous updatey things (aka opens for a split second and claims that I'm all set to go), but I go into the client, log in, and CONTINUE to get the horrible message "You are not running the correct version of PlaneShift. Please launch the updater." I can't tell if I'm just doing something wrong (I've done everything I can possibly find in the forum about running the updater, and as far as I can tell, I'm all up to date with the latest and greatest), or if this is a bigger problem. I've reinstalled the game, oh, six or seven times, to no avail. Anybody have any ideas?

I've also thought about trying 4.0.0 and upgrading from there...heard a rumor that the download for that is stil available somewhere on the site, but I'm failing to find it. First, do you think that might help? And second, where would I find that?

Thanks!!! \\o//
