Sounds like the PEBCAK to me (Did you try installing with the 2.6 kernel that is supplied with the install CD(s)? That tends to be more cooperative.), I\'ve never had a debian install fail, and I\'ve installed quite a few of them. I have had a lot of problems with more desktop-oriented/user-friendly distros, albeit none as big as I\'ve had when installing windows.

Debian isn\'t amongst the most user-friendly distributions, atleast not for the install, but it has a tendancy of just working, no matter how much crap you do to it. ;)

An OS based on Sid (aka. unstable)? Are you sure it\'s not based off Sarge (aka. testing)?

Unstable is good, if you don\'t mind a few things being broken and doing some stuff yourself, testing is good if you want a system that works for most things and is reasonably up to date, and stable is for people who want everything to work, and don\'t mind a few old packages.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just read up on it, it seems like a more desktop-oriented/user-friendly distro than Debian, with regular releases that spring from a snapshot of Sid. Looks neat, maybe I\'ll install it some day. :p

Wow, this is a pretty ignorant post.

Wow, this started out as a mature and interesting discussion about the views on nationality and governments, the stooped into a petty mud-slinging contest about who won WW2...

Anyway, judging people due to the actions of their government is just plain silly, as an example I can take a recent incident where the leader of one of the top political parties in Norway went out and said that Islam was an evil religion, does that represent my views? No, it pisses me off that somebody that is supposed to represent my opinions can say something like that.

It is also silly to say that there is too much focus on the US, don\'t you think is Russia would do the same, there would be a lot of fuzz around it? Also, when you are discussing a topic like this on the internet, you are bound to end up getting the opinion of a lot of Americans, and a mix of other nationalities, this is also a reason why it is a bad idea to discuss it on something as inpersonal and public as a discussion forum.

Also, the person that named \"Jews\" in a sequence of nationalities, all I have to say is \"wow\"...

then theres always words but that can get you in trouble to there was this teacher who joked (note Joked) to a kid born on apr 1st that the bigest joke his mum played on his dad was giving birth to him

latter she got sued .....

I worry for the future of this country......

The interenet isn\'t a country.

Anyway, I don\'t beleive in physical punishment, you can easily get the desired result without the use of violence, especially with small children (much harder when they reach the teens).

I\'ve encountered 2 pretty crazy teachers during my education, but none have resorted to violence (one yelled a lot, the other crazy in a fun way).

My parents never hit me, nor any of my siblings, and we all turned out pretty darn good.

1. The government is responsible for it\'s citizens actions.
2. The citizens are responsible for the actions of their government.
3. Discussing politics on the internet is about as useful as picking navel lint.

IMHO, people could get warned for using 1337, or being offensive etc., but I feel that using a language closer to me, immerses me better into my role, if I use conventional RP-language, I feel awkward and distanced from my character, while if I use wording that is closer to what I would use in real life, I feel immersed and can enjoy the game more.

I guess what I\'m trying to say is that you can role-play without using the standards for role-playing language.

Also, in some MMORPG\'s, having control of a certain area can be seen as winning (or breaking somebody\'s control over an area)
