a soon to be guild: first try to figure out how Laanx is written, then try and figure out whether you follow Laanx or Talad, or choose a path where your religion is not that important

One most important thing: choose your own path with your guild to be, because as for me, it doesn't seem like you have any goals so far

[It sounds like: we will help, but please help us first, even in creating this guild.. my two coins in this is, first have it worked out yourself, have your own goals and plans, make the guild, then go on from there]

Also those who don't respect ic law are part of the unaccepted group

Weltall, you know me a little longer than this... therefore this remark:

What if some characters deliberately choose to not abide the law for their own IC reasons, and face the consequences of being imprisoned or worse? [which they OOC-ly know this will happen]

I for one, think they know very well how to RP, and should be welcomed with open arms [they know very well they don't respect the Octarch's law, yet choose to break it for RP reasons..]

...and also the need to do lots of quests and grinding to become a mage.

in my eyes there is no need, only wish and desire.. what you desire is ok, just be aware of it

The fact that magic doesn't do much now also makes developing a mage character difficult.

i disagree, magic is indeed very powerfull [coming from a mastermage]

All this has led to a loner/explorer character who doesn't converse much and avoids other people. So in a weird way not _RP_ing is RPing if you see what I mean.

I see where you're coming from... Thumbs up

Perlan, Masters of Move

I find it rather funny that you, whose guild is known for OOC at the mines, dueling in the Plaza, and other non-IC acts of PLing is trying to throw mud.

Communication can be hard, it was positive critisism, like i mentioned... As I am mostly the one who gets thrown mud at

(13:36:02) Dharke straightens herself up nervously
(13:36:23) Akaiddo says: You have served us well, not only finding strong Kore to join our cause, but by mining, donating Tria and resources, and continually proving your worth as a Finkyli.

(13:39:49) >Myriliana Rakivik stands up.
(13:40:39) Akaiddo says: You have made me proud, by becoming so strong, and proudly bearing the armour of a Kore. Will you speak a few words to your fellow Clan members?

(13:44:59) >Mikuna Tabu stands up.
(13:45:46) Akaiddo says: While you have been a ratbag to begin with, and don't yet have the wisdom and strength required to be a Finkyli warrior, I am still proud of you. I'd like you to have this helmet.

Some positive critisism:

1) Don't all these comments refer to PL acts?

2) Maybe we (Masters of Move) should post our ceremonies and promotion parties here too. Only, we don't see them as RP events that contribute anything to the community. We see such occasions merely as guild events, something we do for our own, and choose not to post logs about these ceremonies here. Just a different point of view on such occasions.

With regards,

Perlan, Grandmaster of the Masters of Move

Your work is awesome Perlam, keep it up. :) Hopefully I'll be able to come across your designs in game in the future. A Yliakum arteest is what you are.

Thanks, I'll be spoiling the soil with more landart in the future  8)

Welcome to Perlan's PlaneShift, where OOC=IC, PLing = RPing, and if you don't agree with Perlan he'll kill you, as he thinks violence is the answer.

 :offtopic: :ban: ;D

Perlyboy you've only responded with smiles and jokes, telling me all I need to know. Obviously you will not take well-founded critcism and listen to reason. Maybe it was my trusting bones and diplomatic Irish blood that allowed me to think you were worth the time.
well, if you want me to answer to your critisism, plus other numerous things coming from other people commenting on things that have nothing to do with: Masters of Move, i will once and for all do that.

i never attacked anyone without a solid reason in Hydlaa...

Yes, i have killed a man for having gravely offended my love (wouldn't you in a setting like this?)
Yes, i have challenged the guild: the Brigade to a war for being abnoxious and totally disrespectfull [in game, not on this forum], which they declined as the kikiris that they are.
This refers to a point said before: we do not hesitate to wage war on the abnoxious [war based on IC reasons]
And no, we do not "pwn" noobs, that is not our hobby. If and when we truly want to duel or fight, we friendly fight the ones we respect in duelling, (you all know who you are), since our duellers want a challenge themselves. And those duels would take place outside towns or in the arena where duelling isn't against the law.

Welcome to Perlan's PlaneShift, where OOC=IC, PLing = RPing, and if you don't agree with Perlan he'll kill you, as he thinks violence is the answer.

So, no, these accusations are wrong, i charge people for being out of line in a situation [IC-ly], yes. And no, that doesn't have anything to do whether PL=RP.. nor whether OOC=IC
To be totally frank, these were all IC-ly acts.
As a matter of fact.. Perlan doesn't even have anything to do in Hydlaa, when it concerns PL, because he trained all he wanted already.  ::|
And yes, he trained all that in a so called "PL" fashion, he didn't yell for instance: i am gonna kill you, filthy looking outgrown critter - with these magic missiles conjured from my glyph sack right here; the NPC wouldn't even have answered. If and when people train, they do a thing that has been called PL, it has nothing to do with whether one RPs or not. If you don't "PL" when you train, you are simply not being efficient. One can PL and  RP, but some people here do not see that is an option as well. The discussion about PL and RP gets really old, plus it doesn't belong in this topic. Me, personally, i am done discussing that matter, for it seems to be an endless discussion, where two parties will never agree and forget a third party that does both.

As for the abnoxious; experience learns they cannot be reasoned with, so threats make them shut their mouths and ignore us, and we them. Problem solved, both parties happy, no violence used.

Furthermore: if people don't like what they see, then simply don't join, we never asked here, nor on our website for recruits anyway. For the ones that know so well how we should run our guild: the fact is that we run it and continue to do so, we run it following all game rules and we seem to be doing a good job, that has started 2 years ago (repeat: if you don't like what you see....). Positive critisism will be taken note of, negative critisism is just something we can't do very much with, many times childish, and most of the time, that negative critisism is OOC-ly anyway, if i may and will add. I am done commenting on that, since i can spend my time in a more constructive matter.

I have a bar
now you ask me a coffee
you tell me what kind of coffee you want
i make it, you drink it and you pay the 0.90 Euros
but you are not giving me lessons how to make that coffee

Capisce my upside down insular friend?

I totally agree, Makron

A bow to all,

Perlan, Grandmaster of the Masters of Move

um, no, daggers are slower, do less damage, and can be trained less than axes

false, daggers are faster, the other parts are true

General Discussion / Re: death?
« on: October 12, 2009, 04:48:47 am »
I come from a time where the death realm was used as a shortcut from Ojaveda to Hydlaa, hence the curse of Dakkru was invented.

I don't think extended measurements for dying should be used.

Planeshift was not programmed to have a hardcore players section as where players would perma die when they die [similar to di@blo II hardcore], it's simply not the idea of the ones that made Planeshift.

Also: when new players die [and they tend to do that], i don't think any sane person would have them wait for a few days to be alive again, you would loose new players like that.

Note: all stated here is OOC

« on: October 11, 2009, 05:36:08 pm »
Daggers can be used well. In comparison to other weapons, they surely do a little less damage, but make up for that with a slight faster hit (also see the character stats description under combat). You may find, that using daggers compared to the slightly shorter swords, such as short swords and sabres, they would do approximately about the same damage in the same time interval.

When talking about PvP: the use of daggers takes a different style, based on the speed of the dagger, named: the madman style by some duellers. The use of daggers in PvP to good success -in my opinion- takes a very experienced dueller, who knows what he/ she is doing, as other experienced may have the advantage to strike one hit and win with swords or axes. To succesfully use daggers in PvP, one must try and develop one's own stealthy ways as backstabbing, with use of the game's mechanics, as indeed: a skill like that is not implemented yet.

note: all info here is OOC, actual damage and speed not mentioned, cuz they are considered spoilers
