[I loved being part of this event. I'm a little bummed that I missed large portions of it due to RL, but I have followed the write ups intently. Great work Jacula for putting this together, and thanks to all others as well!   ]

Dark Night Of Truth

Jaida swept another mug of cider and stared at one of the nearby paintings which depicted all levels of Yliakum. Rigwyn’s words still stung her heart as the gentle intoxication of the cider gently embraced her. She had been so foolish to think that she would ever see her brother.  She couldn’t help to blame herself for what had happened, if she had not been so consumed with the new impressions of the city she might have found him before it was too late. She rose from her seat on unsteady legs as she fumbled for her last hexas to pay Allelia, before walking out into the empty street outside. She sighted deeply at the sight of the dull architecture that met her as she wandered down the path to the Plazaa. Wondering why the gods had played such a cruel trick on her. Not knowing what else to turn she sought herself to the iron temple, as she walked over the courtyard towards the temples gates a dark presence carried by the wind made itself know. She turned around to find the darkened path as empty as before, yet the uncomfortable feeling of someone following her remained.
Quickly she hurried inside the temple, greeted only by silence as she walked down the aisle. The desolated rows of benches had grown the feel smaller; the fact that she had outgrown the place where she had been educated brought a surreal feeling to her mind. She trailed off into a narrow corridor where a robust ladder could be found. She climbed it on unsteady legs and after a short walk she found herself standing before an orb of magic wonder, the fabled book of names floating within the illuminated azure surface.

She kneeled down clasping her hands together instinctively praying for guidance in her predicament. Rigwyn had spoke of Garosan as member of a band of thieves, tears began to roll down her cheeks as she recalled how he said that they had stabbed and beaten her brother to death. She clasped her hands even harder as she bowed her head, praying for clarity in what had to be done. Rigwyn’s words came to mind again upon which she closed her tear-filled eyes.

“Better to take a small action on your own than to spend the day in prayer. It makes no sense for me to say Laanx, come do my bidding”

Jaida shivered where she sat, crossing her arms to warm herself. That vicious snake Garosan had seemed so helpful, ensnaring her in a sense of security as they had met in the tavern. Rigwyn had made her see clear in her mind, the hours she had kneeled before the temple’s relics wasted. A sudden movement cut through the silence or the room, a dark presence seeming to absorb the air as it approached her. Thick dark smog filled her lungs as where she sat, unable to move she gasped for air as she fell onto her back. Her muscles constricted, causing her to shake frantically on the cold ground. As her eyes began to close a blurred figure approached, placing a sealed note in her twitching hands before disappearing.
She awoke with a gasp, her face pressed gently against the intricate floor. Her grip tightened around the note as she slowly got to her feet, a searing headache tormenting her as she sat down at the base of the magic orb. She struggled to make out the daft handwriting, finding that the letter was marked with her name. She looked around weary of the assailant, yet the room had returned to its previous silent ambience. She tore the letter open with her fingernails, struggling to make out the vague lettering. Her eyes widened as the sentences came together, an uncomfortable feeling of anger filling her heart.

"The one who caused you all this pain
Can be found in Hydlaa’s outskirts
Search for a shack carved in ancient wood
To the southwest of those banished."

She swallowed hard as she read the letter over and over, her eyes widening as numerous theory’s came to mind, yet one in particular stood out from the others “Garosan.. You will pay for what you did to my brother” she whispered to herself. Rigwyn had warned her of the corrupt guards who operated in Hydlaa. Not wanting to get him into trouble she realized that she would have to go alone, his claims empowering her decision.

“The guards will never believe you. They have the guards fooled too. I suspect that his friends and him are part of some sort of organization. I don't know how many of them there are .. but I suspect its more than one or two. The last thing we need is for them to claim that you are mad or something. You have no proof to go against their word."

Haven taken his words to heart she knew what had to be done. Fueled by anger and the grave fate her brother had suffered she stood tall, beginning her journey to the outskirts. She hummed to herself, the wisdom that Rigwyn had spoke reminding itself as she made her way through the darkness of the night.

"When all seems dark and gloomy
When you feel like the gods have abandoned you
Like they left you in the dark all alone
When you feel no joy; when you see no light at the end of the tunnel
That is when you see the clearest.

At those times your mind if free of all illusions.
At those times you see things for what they really are”

“Oh, dark night of truth” she exclaimed at the sight of the shack, her anger peaked at the sight of light through the small window.
To be continued...

Jaida's Search

Quote
"So it was that Jaida Pundactum left her home in search of her brother, threading upon the dangerous roads which lead to Hydlaa. Would she learn the truth of her brothers horrid deeds, and most importantly. Would she find him?"

Jaida was overwhelmed by how Hydlaa had flourished since her childhood, she walked through the north gate and sought herself to the center of the massive city. A feeling of being misplaced soon filled her heart as she threaded upon these once familiar streets. Having grown used to being surrounded by lush nature she swallowed hard at the sight of the massive iron construction which she had once called her home.
The shadow of the laanx temple which fell over the plazaa brought a icy feeling to her cheek.
In her eyes her past sanctum of worship had grown into being no less than a iron abomination.
The kran had always spoken of a sacred tree which stood peacefully in a garden which where assumed secret. Such rumors had always fed the flame that was her unwavering curiosity, but alas. Her visit in Hydlaa was not a religious one.
Not having any apparent strategy she scurried the streets and asked various strangers about Jacula's whereabouts.
Some had heard the name before, others seemed reluctant to share their knowledge. Yet no information of use was to be had by those she encountered.
Flustered but not in short of a good mood she decided to make her way to the local tavern. She decided to rent herself a room for the few tria she had, knowing her search might be a extensive one.
Nightfall embraced Hydlaa in a veil of darkness. Jaida leaned over the ledge in the tavern deep in thought. A fenki dressed in a extravagant dress sat below in the company of a klyros. they spoke back and forth, only stopping to take the usual sip of wine.
Jaida made her way down the stairs on eager feet, approaching the table. Her straightforward approach was well met by the fenki who introduced herself as Lolitra Purrty. Even though to her noble appearance and posture she was surrounded by a soothing aura. She gracefully invited Jaida to sit and the klyros was as well mannered as the monarch herself. He introduced himself as Dr.Forita, the way he carried himself made Jaida doubt her very own manners. She formally introduced herself, yet at the sound of her last name she was met by squinted eyes and a suspicious treatment.
She explained that she had come to Hydlaa in search of her twin brother, from which she had been separated from in her childhood.
At the sound of Jacula's name Lolitra reached over the table and gently grasped Jaidas hand as if sorry for her loss. Dr.Forita had a similar reaction, upon which he decided to impart her of her brothers deeds.
The words of the klyros brought tears to Jaidas eyes. Supposedly her long lost brother had been cursed by mysterious artifacts leaving him a murderer who had turned his back on both the octarchal decree's and sympathy for others.
A brief conversation followed yet Jaida's mind was focused elsewhere, her thoughts mirrored by her tears.
She excused herself and sought sanctuary in the room she had rented. crying herself to sleep as the rumors she had been imparted on tormented her through the night.

The promise of a new day held little joy as Jaida slowly accepted the possibility of her brothers deeds. Yet her tears and prayers soon transcended into a driven determination. She spent that day asking around Hydlaa, yet much as the first day no breakthroughs where made. As the azure sun began to set she once again sought herself to the tavern, her face drooping as she took a seat on the bottom floor by the fire.

"Lies and rumors"

After a while she was joined by a ylian who introduced himself as Garosan. They chatted for a while and the ylian could not have been more comforting. Her dreadful plight soothed by his positive outlook and encouraging words.
In her mind Xiosia had blessed her search, for as she mentioned Jacula Garosan explained that he knew his fiance, and had the means of contacting her.
With a flick of his wrist he summoned a groffel, making sure to write a letter for it to deliver.
Sure enough the little creature hurried away. Time passed and a gleam of hope could be seen in Jaida's eyes. Sure enough a beautiful nolthrir soon made her way down the stairs. She had flower's attached in her blond hair but her demeanor seemed to be a reluctant one. She introduced herself as Mellas, and she assured Jaida that Jacula was safe and that she would let him know that she searched for him. Mellas convinced her that the horrid rumors that she had been told was nothing but lies. Overjoyed she believed every word.
Mellas spoke of Jacula as a hunter, who's skill and strength was unmatched throughout the land.
As she laid herself to bed that night she dreamed of them meeting, of how he might look like and how he would be ever so surprised.
Jaida woke up early to the promise of yet a new day. With a empowered spirit she decided to enjoy herself a bit, confident that Mellas would impart Jacula that she was looking for him. She visited the secret garden as well as the mighty arena and the gladiators that resided within. Yet as the days passed her confidence shrunk, reduced only too foolish hope. She found herself sitting in the tavern yet another night, and the tria she had spent on her room had ran out. Had Mellas lied to her? she thought as a rough cut Diaboli walked through the doors.

"Fate"

Rigwyn rummages through his pockets and pulls out a few teal coins. He places them on the bar, takes the mug and raises it "Here's to luck"
Jaida starts to fidget the mug in front of her, her drooping transcending into a deep sight 'I guess I'll never find him' she says to herself
Rigwyn surveys the empty bar and then notices a lone ynnwn.
Rigwyn says: Find who miss?
Jaida looks up at Rigwyn swiftly before looking down into her mug again 'I'm sorry.. I guess I'm thinking out loud' she sighs again as she carefully places the mug on the table
Jaida trails her fingers over her chest before grasping her jade amulet, squeezing it softly
Rigwyn approaches Jaida slowing habitually looking her over taking note of he clothing, facial features, and an a strangely enticing amulet
Jaida leans back in her chair as she lifts the mug to her lips, savoring the sweet taste of her cider.
Mogweh walks into the tavern and up to the bar, he glances round and seeing Rigwyn his face breaks into a broad grin,'Hey Rig' he says before turning to Allelia and ordering a drink.
Jaida sets her mug down before leaning over the table, she looks up at Rigwyn as he approaches, shooting him a friendly smile.
Rigwyn turns to Mogweh and waves and then looks back at Jaida "Thinking out loud can be good. Who is it that you fear you may never find ?"
Rigwyn says: I know many folks around here.
Mogweh hands over a couple of coins and turns casually to survey the bar, sipping his drink as he does.
Thidin leans forward on the counter and looks to her left.
Despaira looks around the tavern as she taps her boots on the ground, stretching her legs for a moment before running out.
Jaida parts her lips in a hopeful smile, seemingly surprised 'Please sit, sir.' she says courtly
Mogweh sees Thidin and his face lights up into a mischievous grin. Raising his mug to Thidin he says,'Your very good health - Daughter of Xiosia' and gives her a small wink
Rigwyn pulls out a chair and sits while looking at Jaida curiously, "I don't mean to be so intrusive .. "
Thidin raises a brow
Jaida trails her fingers over the table 'Not at all' she says as she looks up at him 'Maybe you could impart me on the whereabouts of my brother'
Marqsaynt glances at the corner chair and frowns... then heads over to the bar.
Mogweh glares at Marqsaynt as he enters the Tavern. His grip on the mug of beer tightens as he takes a sip.
Marqsaynt sends Thidin a wink, and leans against the bar...
Rigwyn notices Jaida's smooth clean hands. Something strikes him as odd though he has no idea what. "Who is this brother of yours?"
Marqsaynt holds up a finger to Allelia "One of the usual, Beautiful."
Thidin shakes her head "What is with everyone today?
Marqsaynt looks over to Thidin "What's that?"
Rigwyn eyes again are drawn to Jaida's amulet.
Azilim takes out a skin and a mug and fills the mug from the skin with something that appears to be Red Liquor. He looks around the tavern, observing the others inside.
Jaida squints her eyes as they wander over Rigwyn's features, she tilts her head as she notices the scar upon his cheek. 'I came here in search of a man named Jacula.. Do.. Do you know where to find him?' she says with a hopeful expression
Thidin shrugs "Everyone is, odd. I guess you could say."
Thidin looks over at Jaida
Mellas enters the tavern and looks around. 'Well, busy day for Allelia,' she mentions.
Rigwyn's eyes expand slightly at the mention of Jacula's name but then return. "Dont think I've ever heard that name before'
Rigwyn says: Your brother you say ?
Marqsaynt sends Thidin a grin and jokes "Well, you'll be happy to know I'm not anymore odd than I usually am."
Mogweh's head twitches at the mention of Jacula but he remains silent, turning to greet Mellas as she enters the tavern,'Hey there Mellas' he beams,'you're looking a damn sight better that the last time I saw you' before sending a shooting glance to Marsaynt
Marqsaynt catches Mogweh's glance and raises an eyebrow.
Jaida continues to look Rigwyn up and down, as her eyes set on his she searches them intently 'What's your name?' she asks softly
Rigwyn smirks, "Well, some folks call me 'Hey You ' "
Marqsaynt looks over to Mellas "How are you feeling, Beautiful?"
Jaida snickers softly as she extends her hand towards Rigwyn 'My name is Jaida'
Mellas glances at Jaida and Rigwyn, sending them a friendly nod, and she moves over to the bar, grinning at Mogweh and Marqsaynt. 'I'm much better, thank you! But how are both of you doing? I must have fallen asleep again...'
Marqsaynt picks his drink up from the bar and takes a drink "No complaints from me."
Jaida does not even seem to notice Mellas gesture as she focuses on Rigwyn's features
Rigwyn looks towards the mural on the wall with a stare as if reminiscing "I havent hear that name since I was a kid. "
Azilim sips his drink and listens to the conversations going on in the tavern.
Rigwyn says: Met a girl once .. she had a amulet just like...
Marqsaynt looks back over to Thidin "I miss anything while I was on... "vacation?"
Rigwyn looks back at Jaida's amulet and then at up at Jaida again
Thidin just rolls her eyes "Oh you left?"
Jaida withdraws her hand as she parts her lips in surprise
Rigwyn says: No, your not ..
Rigwyn looks at Jaida with an expression of disbelief "Get out !"
Rigwyn laughs
Rigwyn says: Jaida?
Jaida seems shocked, only capable of answering with a stutter 'Ri.. Rigwyn?'
Rigwyn says: I cant believe it ! I remember you from the temple !
Jaida leans forward, placing her hand in the middle of the table 'By Laanx, it is you' she says with a gasp 'I can't believe this, it thought.. I thought you where gone' she says softly
Rigwyn says: What ? Gone ? No.. The ole man just had a bug up his .. er eh .. He was in a rush to get home.
Rigwyn looks downward recalling the events that followed on that day..
Jaida remembers Izalox and his cruel lies 'The lemur.. He told me that you where killed, struck down by lightning' she says while shivering slightly
Rigwyn looks at Jaida with a shocked expression "He told you that !? The only striking down that happened that day was me getting beaten until I couldn't get back up
Jaida recoils into her chair, yet her hand remains on the table 'That's horrible' she exclaims before setting her gaze on his scar again 'I never thought I would see you again'
Rigwyn says: And I you. But those days are long gone. I haven't seen the ole terd ever since.
Jaida seems to have forgotten all about her search for Jacula as she searches Rigwyn's eyes 'I.. I don't know what to say.' her eyes continues to search his as she blushes slightly
Rigwyn looks around the tavern for a moment and then back at Jaida with a sly smirk "We have some unfinished business from the past you know"
Mogweh takes a drink of beer then seems to snap out of his mood, leaning towards Mellas he indicates towards Jaida with his eyes and whispers softly,'She's been asking about .. Jacula''
Jaida taps her fingers on the table playfully 'What might that be?' she answers with a soft giggle
Rigwyn brings his hand close to Jaida's as if to caress it but does not yet touch her. He looks into her eyes as if asking permission.
Mellas moves closer to Mogweh, her ears perking up at the sound of Jacula's name. She glances over at Jaida and nods to the menki. 'Aye, I know, I've spoken with her. We'll see how much of what she says is true.'
Jaida looks down at Rigwyn's hand for a moment before gently trailing her fingers over his, seemingly unaware of her surroundings
Rigwyn places his hand atop Jaida's softly and whispers with an impish grin
Rigwyn says: "Tag ! Your it !
Rigwyn jumps from his seat and runs out of the tavern
Jaida breaks into a wide smile and follows Rigwyn
The two run through out of the tavern and down the steep stairs before reaching the temple where Rigwyn stops.
Jaida runs up to Rigwyn, a bright smile visible on her face 'You remembered'
Rigwyn stops and laughs somewhat out of breath "Yes .. you remember this spot ? "
Rigwyn places his hand upon the steel structure attached to the temple
Jaida walks up to the massive steel structure, pressing her cheek against it as she looks back at Rigwyn coyly 'I remember'
Rigwyn looks at Jaida again with a wide smile.. "Follow me !"
Jada runs after him, as they stop again her eyes widen at the sight of a beautifully crafted gazebo
Rigwyn looks at the Gazebo and then back at Jaida "This spot is usually very quiet. "
Rigwyn says: I like it for a number of reasons.. Lots of good memories here.
Jaida adjusts her thin robe as she continues to admire Rigwyn's features. She looks up at the gazebo before looking back at him 'You have grown' she says teasingly
Rigwyn smiles as he looks at Jaida's hair which was once held in place by a rather shiny barrette. and then back at her face "I cant believe it .. after all these years"
Jaida takes a step closer to Rigwyn, slowly letting her hand wander over his chest 'I thought you where dead.. What happened to you?' she asks as her ebon eyes glisten
Rigwyn says: It was a memory that I try not to revisit. I eh .. well, from that day on I was on my own.
Jaida clasps her hands together, seemingly still in disbelief 'I can't believe that we meet after all these years.. It must be..' she pauses for a second as she looks over her shoulder at the temple 'fate'
Rigwyn looks at the temple angrily "Fate is quite the word for it. "
Rigwyn says: That religion has cause me nothing but suffering and pain.
Jaida shrugs as she looks back at Rigwyn, gently placing a hand on his shoulder 'You can follow any faith you please, as long as you are happy' she says in search of his feelings
Rigwyn looks back at Jaida with a softened expression, "I suppose so. Truth lies within. Its just a matter of discovering it"
Rigwyn says: Speaking of discovering ...
Jaida lets her hand wander down Rigwyn's armored arm before tilting her head at his words.
Rigwyn says: Tell me more about this brother of yours. What does he look like ?
Rigwyn looks about the empty field carefully while listening.
Jaida seems to have forgotten about her search for a moment, she returns her attention to his question 'I have never met him, yet we are supposed to be twins.. Separated at birth. I came here from Hydlaa in search of him, yet all I've found is a strain of.. Disturbing rumors' she says with a drooping expression
Rigwyn says: Rumors ? There are many folks around here who cast lies instead of wielding weapons. The tongue at times can be sharper than then finest of swords.
Rigwyn says: I tend to be a bit skeptical about hearsay. What sort of rumors have you heard ? From whom ?
Jaida seems pleased with Rigwyn's smart answer 'You are right, horrid lies.. I heard from Dr. Forita that he had attacked a few people a while back, her highness Lolitra Purrty seemed to second his claim..' she thinks for a moment before exclaiming 'Yet his fiance Mellas, spoke of him as a good man.. A hunter, who's skill was unmatched'
Rigwyn says: I've never met this doctor Forita but I do know of Lolitra. She claims to be royal or something get there are clearly no monarchies in Yliakum. What is a kingdom without a castle or a kingdom for that matter ?
Rigwyn says: I would be skeptical about the claims of such a person.
Jaida nods softly at Rigwyn's comment 'Yet she is very kind of heart, but indeed you are right.' she fidgets her amulet before shooting him a playful smile 'You really brightened my day.. My failed search has got me down. More so than I would admit'
Rigwyn smiles at Jaida "Jaida, you know when someone is telling you the truth when you can feel it . here.. in your heart"
Rigwyn smiles reassuringly holding his hand upon his heart "Do you understand this truth ?"
Jaida places her hand over her own heart as she nods in agreement 'I do..' she says as her ebon eyes glistens in the light of the azure sun
Rigwyn laces his fingers together showing her how they fit perfectly "This is truth. It just fits"
Rigwyn says: Your brother must be a good man. I can feel it in my heart. It must be so.
Rigwyn says: It just fits.
Rigwyn smiles at Jaida admiringly
Jaida takes a deep breath as she listens intently to his kind words 'Thank you.. I'm sure he is' she gives him a sultry look as she adds 'Much like yourself'
Jaida looks down at her feet as a slight blush can be seen upon her cheeks 'I'm sorry.. I'm not used to the company of a man' she says with a shy smile on her lips
Rigwyn smiles wider in return, "I do know of Mellas. She has a heart of gold and an uncanny innate goodness about here. You can believe what she says"
Rigwyn looks down and then back at Jaida's eyes almost hypnotized. He smiles while thinking of what to say but his mind is blank.
Jaida seems reassured as she takes Rigwyn's words to heart 'Aye.. My brother must have done well for himself, having such a woman by his side'
Rigwyn nods in agreement "Yes, indeed. I have a very good feeling about her."
Jaida meets Rigwyn's gaze sharing his state of mind. She reaches out with her hand placing it softly on his cheek, trailing her fingers over his scar as if asking how he got it.
Rigwyn turns his face slightly as if to hide his scar but then tuns back "A mad man did that. He claimed to be a Laanx priest of all things. "
Rigwyn says: I have lost all respect for Laanx over the years. It seems that Laanx is a little too harsh for my liking.
Jaida withdraws her hand as he turns his face, weary that he might be uncomfortable by her touching him 'I'm sorry to hear that..' she thinks over his words for a while before answering 'You are still that sweet boy from long ago to me, laanx and your scar does not matter'
Jaida recoils ever so slightly at her own blasphemy
Rigwyn chuckles "Yes, still ole rig. Just a few more teeth and a scar or two."
Rigwyn says: I suppose scars can be healed over time .. At least, I hope.
Jaida clasps her hands together again, seemingly overjoyed by Rigwy's company 'I know they do, be it by time or the good in life' she admires Rigwyn's armor for a minute before asking 'What do you do for a living?'
Rigwyn smiles as he finally notices Jaida's gaze. "Well, I er eh .. " Rigwyn look down "Im not very successful Im afraid. " He looks back up and says "I do odd jobs when they come. Sometimes I mine, sometimes a make deliveries'"
Rigwyn says: In my spare time I like to spar in the arena. This might sound silly but I think he helps me to deal with feeling .. powerless.
Jaida tilts his head as she gives him a reassuring smile 'Succession is not measured by the nobility of ones job.' she lets her hands wander up her own chest 'Powerless?' she says softly
Rigwyn watches Jaida's hands as they move closer and closer. His heart beats a little faster.
Rigwyn nods regaining eye contact "Silly I suppose. Sometimes feelings dont make sense"
Jaida smiles coyly at Rigwyn's expression 'You don't look powerless to me' she adds before moving a little closer, watching his armor glisten in the sunlight. She carefully embraces him in a hug 'Feelings don't have to make sense' she whispers as she closes her eyes, leaning against him with her arms wrapped around his waist
Rigwyn wraps his arms around Jaida hesitantly at first and then gives a gentle squeeze. His eyes look about as if he feels nothing though his thoughts are consumed with Jaida "Feelings .. yes. Feeling can be quite strange at times"
Rigwyn inhales taking note of her fragrant hair, her soft and gentle touch.
Jaida looks up at Rigwyn as she parts her lips hesitantly 'how does this make you feel?' she asks nervously, not knowing how her conduct might be interpreted
Rigwyn smiles and gazes into Jaida's eyes. Unable to feel connected he lies "Warm, gentle, very very special"
Rigwyn says: Im very glad that we ran into each other. Perhaps this is fate ?
Jaida smiles warmly at his comment. She leans in a little closer, brushing her lips against his for a second 'Fate..' she whispers as she closes her eyes
Rigwyn looks at Jaida's face, her eyes. Seeing her lips he takes the opportunity to connect passionately. Though his appetite is peaked by her beauty his heart is hollow as if empty or perhaps missing something.
Jaida tastes Rigwyn's lips as they collide with hers. Never having been kissed before she feels her heart skip a beat. She leans back searching his eyes 'Fate..' she repeats softly
Rigwyn pulls back slowly with a satisfied smile as a thought pulls his attention away "Fate"
Rigwyn says: If it wasn't for that day by the braziers .. and all that followed. I wonder. Would we be ,,
Rigwyn says: Well..
Jaida places her soft hand on his cheek again 'You seem thoughtful, what are you thinking?' she asks warmly
Rigwyn says: I wonder.
Rigwyn says: Perhaps that was just a spot on the apple. Just a small part of a much larger picture.
Jaida squeezes Rigwyn slightly as she speaks softly 'Maybe so.. But this is now. And nothing matters more than the present' she slowly lets go of him before giggling softly 'All I know is that you made me very happy today'
Rigwyn sighs happily lifting his hands to touch Jaida's. "I hope to see you again. You too made me .. very happy"
Rigwyn chuckles at his own awkward choice of words and then steps back "I have a job that I need to take care of. Till next time .. "
Jaida giggles again as their hands entwine 'If you want to find me I will be around Hydlaa. And please, do keep an eye out for my brother'
Rigwyn nods, "I will Jaida. I will. Take care"
Jaida steps back and heads in the direction of the temple, looking over her shoulder from time to time
Rigwyn takes a few steps back letting go with his hands but not his eyes .He then turns and jogs away.

A warm, loving feeling filled Jaida as she entered the temple. Having grown up with the kran she had little experience of consorting with men, yet the way Rigwyn looked at her made her feel very special. She sat down in the very bench she had met him years ago with a permanent smile on her lips. Her day was brightened, and the hopeless feeling that had weighed her down before vanished. Jacula was still nowhere to be found, yet her thoughts was only with Rigwyn in that moment. When would she see him again?

[Big thanks to Jacula for reviewing this text. I would also like to thank Lolitra, Dr.Forita, Mellas Garosan and Rigwyn for the great rp  ::) I couldn't include all the logs since that would be all to much. Can't wait to see how this will develop!]

Would some one mind elaborating? I seem to have the same problem running Windows 7 and would appreciate knowing exactly how to use this workaround.

I'm having the same problem, the updater crashes when I select yes concerning the new update. Also I am unable to get into PS as the whole client crashes when I try to login. Does anybody have a solution for a computer-dummie like myself?  X-/

[I guess Jacula is not a cat-person  :innocent: I'll try to be on Jaida more often as there are alot of people willing to join this event. Remember that it's based on random encounters though! I'm especially looking forward to a encounter with Rigwyn.  :flowers:]

Jaida's Way
Quote
"She woke up in the morning determined to leave the temple. She sought an audience with the head of the clergy, pleading her case. It was decided that she would be sent to Gurgontid where she would be educated in the ways of peace and nature."

Jaida had been sent to the idyllic city of Gurgontid where she grew into a woman. The close bond the Kra shared with nature influenced her greatly, and so did the teachings of the godly mother. Not knowing what religion to follow she chose to honor the ideology of both leaving her with a more personal and joyful way of life.
As the years passed she found herself determined to help others in their plight and misery. Jaida truly absorbed the way of Xiosia, giving her an inner strength which she gladly shared with others.
The Loyal Disciple
One day an elderly courier had sought himself to Gurgontid, the impressive fortress like architecture was nothing like he had ever seen before. The notion that the kran possessed little intelligence was something he had always agreed with, yet the humble greetings and extraordinary hospitality he was given made him reconsider his prejudice.
Mulgik imparted him of Jaidas whereabouts, and so it was that he wandered into the lush nature which the outskirt of Gurgontid held. The beauty of Jaida was a gift from laanx he thought to himself as he had found her searching the flora for herbs. Her silky jet black hair caught in a soft breeze, her ebon black eyes carefully inspecting the roots and stems which emanated from the ground. He cleared his throat to get her attention, slowly she turned. Parting her lips in a friendly smile.

Quote
"The clergy prayed for their dying brother, staying by Daphvir's side night and day.
The elderly priest called forth his most trustworthy disciple, choosing him to impart Jaida of his last words."

"My name is Gartold" he said as her inquiring eyes wandered over him. He was amazed how the little girl had grown since he last saw her, some of the words he had so carefully memorized was lost due to his disbelief. "I.. I served under Daphvir for many years, on his deathbed I promised him to impart you on his last words when you where ready. Today is that day my child"
Jaida curiously looked the elderly man up and down, he was clad in the traditional robe of the Laanx clergy. He supported his withering bones with a staff who had the intricate carving of a serpent on it. As the name of her mentor was mentioned she lowered her gaze, as if to pay respect to his memory.
Gartold took a deep breath of fresh air, the sealed in ambiance of the temple had taken it's toll on his shriveling lungs. He reached for his satchel, removing a worn sealed note which he had been given by Daphvir on his deathbed.

Quote
"The disciple slowly leaned in over the bed and bowed his head in a court manner. Daphvir spoke vaguely, struggling to bring forth his last words, and his very last wish. "He's alive.. Praised be Laanx. Her brother is alive, and I am forgiven.." he murmured as he slowly gestured towards a sealed note lying on his nightstand. "Give her that when she is ready, tell her..' the old priest couldn't finish his sentence as his body began to fade, sent to slumber in Dakkru's embrace forever."

Jaida accepted the note eagerly, carefully opening it with her fingernails. Her eyes widening as she slowly red the letters it held. It spoke of Daphvir's love to her, as well as his well wishes. The last sentences caused her to gasp in surprise. It told of her twin brother, which she had been separated from in her childhood. "Jacula.." she slowly pronounced his name as if savoring the letters. With tears of happiness in her eyes she turned to Gartold embracing him tightly.
Gartold patted Jaida on her back as she wrapped her arms around him. "Thank you, how can I ever repay you?" she exclaimed joyfully. He smiled "Promise me that you will find him" he answered as his smile grew even wider. She placed a gentle kiss on his forehead before running of in the direction of Gurgontid with a merry spring in her step.
Gartold savored the moment, he had been true to his word and Jaidas joy was his reward.
So it was that Jaida Pundactum left her home in search of her brother, threading upon the dangerous roads which lead to Hydlaa. Would she learn the truth of her brothers horrid deeds, and most importantly. Would she find him?

Prologue part III
Rigwyn and Jaida
Quote
"The firm, uncompromising stare he directed at the boy was nothing less than disturbing to Jaida.
Ignoring the uncomfortable feeling the Lemur had caused her she decided to approach, exposing herself as she stepped out of the shadows."

Rigwyn began to rattle off a litany of obscure prayers blurring some words together while carelessly skipping over others. The prayer seemed to be a bit odd in that it never mentioned Laanx, rather it was more like a list of selfish petitions. He rolled his eyes and neck, clearly bored with the routine. When taking the time to look around he spotted something unexpected.
There was a girl standing on the edge of a shadow looking back at him. He stopped and stared with childish wonder, She looked like she could be about the same age ignoring her being a little taller. His gaze wandered over her eyes and hair, yet he did not smile. Instead he waited, unsure why she was looking at him.
Jaida trailed her fingers over the smooth surface of the stone pillar, her lips parting in a playful smile. She couldn't help to look at the boy as he continued in his distracted prayer, to the lemurs visible dismay. As their eyes locked she couldn't help but to look away. Her playful smile transcending into a shy giggle.

"Did I do something wrong again?" Rigwyn thought as he looked down at his clasped hands. After a while he looked up locking their eyes once more, as he smiled innocently he revealed the space and soft gums where his two front teeth used to be.
Jaida's attention turned to the Lemur standing over the boy. He carried himself in a sovereign manner, his demeanor spoke of an arrogant tendency. He had no doubt provided the clothes the boy wore, as he seemed to be uncomfortable in them.
Rigwyn's hair was cut short and combed to the right with a part in the left side of his head. His clothes were threadbare but clean and smelled fresh as if just washed. His shirt was buttoned all the way up to his chin, whereas his sleeves were buttoned at his wrists.
Having noticed Rigwyn's lack of focus Izalox reached for a sharp prod which he carried with him in the depth of his robe.
A wince replaced Rigwyn's smile as a sharp object began to dig into his side. Izalox whispering a phrase that had grown all too familiar to him. "Focus Rigwyn, or the usher will throw you into the offering well." He straightened up and looked back down at his clasped hands. Resuming his petition carefully at first, then once more muttering and skipping words. He looked at the girl once more though one eye. The wince being replaced with a grin. Jaida snickered at his defiant antics, which caused the boy to direct his gaze down at his hands once again.

Having lost track of time Jaida soon realized that she had mistaken the darkness of the temple for a trait of night. This became clear to her as people devoted to Laanx began to enter the temple with torches in hand, they had come for the early morning sermon. Many yawning before taking their usual seats on the solid stone benches that had been scattered throughout the temple. The lemur snapped his fingers and gestured towards the row of benches in the far back of the temple. The boy slowly rose from the floor and reluctantly took a seat. Whereas the lemur remained standing.
Izalox looked around the temple with his nose slightly elevated and a proud smirk on his face. He looked at each family carefully as if taking note of their clothing and the behavior of their children. When his stare was met he raised his nose a bit higher, then nodded with an arrogant smile on his lips. His ceremonial robe was red like the temple itself. If looking at his back the exquisite fabric held an emerald green serpent which had been masterfully embroidered and infused with golden highlights.
Jaida walked down the temples aisle in search of a seat, making a court bow to Izalox as she passed him. The lemur seemed caught up in the attention the assembly of followers gave him, unaware that Jaida took a seat on the bench where he had ordered Rigwyn earlier.
Jaida sat down on the edge of the bench, looking over at Rigwyn from time to time. The sermon had started and all but the priests eventually took a seat. She nervously trailed her nails over the rough surface of the bench, considering if she should slide closer to him. After building up enough courage she finally did, gently poking his shoulder. She Smiled playfully as he turned towards her "Hi, I'm Jaida, what is your name?"
Rigwyn recoiled at first, more comfortable initially with looking at the girl then with actually speaking with her. He looked at Izalox and noticed that his head was facing down and his eyes were closed. Looking back at Jaida he held his hand cupped to the side of his mouth and whispered "Rigwyn". He thought for a moment and then leaned in towards her. His curiosity was peaked by her soft brushed hair, a sparkle that danced on barrette that she wore in it. Her fingernails, clean and smooth unlike his which were calloused and rough from laboring outside.

Jaida giggled softly as she leaned in, casually fidgeting her black shoulder length hair which held a strange metallic glisten. She searched his eyes as her lips parted in a nervous smile.
The two children talked and giggled throughout the sermon, not paying any attention to the people around them.
Izalox heard them chattering but said nothing. He listened closely to every word paying careful attention to their tone, their choice or words and they way they giggled. On the outside he appeared to be consumed in prayer. his face blank, his hands resting upon his knees. He breathed slowly and meditatively occasionally shifting in his seat ever so slightly.

The sermon was about to come to an end, Jaida seemed a little disheartened. Wanting to spend more time with her new friend. Rigwyn on the other hand seemed fascinated by the traditional jade snake which she wore as a amulet, seemingly unaware the the sermon was about to end. She gently put her hand in his, squeezing it with a playful giggle. "Will I see you here tomorrow?"
Rigwyn looked down at Jaida's hand not expecting to be touched. Slowly his fingers curled around her hand. He looked up at her with an uncertain stare which quickly stretched into a wide smile. "Do you like to play tag?" he asked her. Rigwyn's voice was loud enough to catch the attention of a few patrons who turned around and gave him a brief stare and then whispered "Hush child".
Jaida leaned in, playfully poking his thigh as she whispered "You're it!'. Those who had sought themselves to the temple grew increasingly agitated by the children's occasional giggles and whispers and thus irritated looks fell upon Izalox, holding him accountable for the disturbance.
Rigywn quickly turned his head to see if Izalox noticed. He cringed defensively as if about to be belted as Izalox's dull black pupils snapped to the right and locked with his. His stare was invasive and seemed to be capable of discovering every dishonest and guilty thought in the poor lad's mind. Izalox turned his gaze to the girl as he leaned in close to her as if to whisper something. His lips parted as he began to speak in a hushed tone revealing his yellowed teeth. His voice was just loud enough for the two children to hear. "Please be careful children. I would not want Laanx to strike you down. He knows what you are thinking and does not approve."

Jaida leaned back into the bench as the lemur turned, she squeezed Rigwyn's hand as his dull black eyes slowly crept over her. Avoiding his gaze at all costs.
Feeling somewhat intimidated by the deceptive threat Rigwyn straightened up and looked forward. He made a half hearted attempt at paying attention to the sermon but quickly looked back at Jaida and giggled silently.
The patrons began to stand up and then started to file out of the temple. Rigwyn felt a slight push prompting him to leave the pew. He followed Jaida into the Isle and the three proceeded towards the exit. Jaida tagged Rigwyn and then ran past one of the braziers and onto the grass. Rigwyn began to chase her laughing out loud. She ran and hid behind one of the large steel structures affixed to the side of the temple. Rigwyn slowed down as he began to peek around the corner but then stopped when he felt a large hand grasp his wrist.
Jaida snickered as she pressed herself against the steel structure, the soft thuds of footsteps indicated that Rigwyn was getting closer. Struggling not to snicker she covered her mouth with her palm. Suddenly a cascade of curses could be heard nearby, she looked over the steel structure finding the lemur dragging Rigwyn away towards the Plazaa.

Izalox's grip was painful and when he tugged it jerked Rigwyn's body. He pulled the boy like a mule though the crowded plaza towards the overpass leading to the west gate. Rigwyn looked back but did not see Jaida. He protested but was met with a hard pinch and a fierce look. "Don't you dare embarrass me in public child or I'll skin you alive!" Rigwyn followed reluctantly dragging his heels on the rough cobblestone road as they proceeded past the guards as they exited the city. He looked at one with contempt and stuck out his tongue. The guard chuckled to himself as he left. "Cute kid" he muttered to the guard on the other side of the gate.
Zalloh twisted a sopping wet robe in her hands as rivulets of soapy water streamed out between her fingers and returned to the pail along with a few tears that dripped from her cheeks as she wept. Her mind had begun to grow frail as her health continued to deteriorate. She was determined to complete her chore before Izalox was to return but her sadness seemed to slow her down. She hoped that he would meet someone along that way so that she would have more time. It seemed as if the medicine that Izalox prescribed was only making her misery worse, but she did not dare to question him.
The door swung open and met with the wall making a jarring din. Rigwyn was dragged into the house by his collar and tossed to the floor. "Your child humiliated me in public today, caused a disturbance in the temple, and nearly caused a small child to get lost!"
Zalloh's lips trembled as her eyes switched between Rigwyn and Izalox. She joined her hands and pleaded with Izalox submissively but to no avail. He slammed the door shut and approached her pointing his finger directly at her face "I ordered you to teach this child the ways of Laanx. I gave you all the needed books and materials yet you still failed !" Zalloh sobbed as she began to plead "He has only been back for a week since he ran away. What do you expect me to accomplish in a week?"

Izalox fired back at Zalloh coldly "The lad ran away from home at age five because you were a horrible mother! You failed to discipline him as I demanded. You failed to educate him as required. What kind mother are you? Your own child left you because he was sick of you!"
Rigwyn looked at the two and interjected "I didn't run away. " Izalox slapped the boy with the back of his hand shouting "Don't correct your mother!" Rigwyn cried loudly more scared than hurt, he looked at Zalloh for support but was met with a stare and pursed lips. Picking up on the silent gesture Izalox looked at Zalloh and then back at Rigwyn "What do you mean boy, Your telling me you did not run away?"

Rigwyn nodded in agreement and then pointed to the washtub crying and shaking. Izalox looked back at Zalloh shouting "What is this invalid talking about? " Zalloh held her hand over her mouth to hold in a painful cry. She shook sorrowfully while looking at Izalox as if beckoning for forgiveness. The lad interjected once again shouting "She put my head in the bucket and wouldn't let me breathe! "

Izalox looked at Zalloh to read her expression. She fell to her knees wailing uncontrollably as she recalled that dark, dismal day. Izalox smacked his forehead clearly frustrated. He had failed to control her once again and knew that the boy was old enough to be a problem. Enraged he beat Rigwyn cursing and swearing with each strike. He was determined to break both his body and his defiant attitude. Horrified Zalloh pleaded with Izalox suggesting instead that the boy be turned back to the wilderness. Izalox stopped for a moment pondering the proposal. He shifted his attention from Zalloh to Rigwyn and them knelt down holding his shoulders.
"You've caused us nothing but trouble since the day we rescued you. Its time for you to leave. If I ever see your face again, that girl that you met in the temple will be offered to Laanx." He shook him fiercely and shouted "Do you understand ?"
Rigwyn nodded as he was too frightened to reply. Zalloh scurried across the room and opened a basket from which she took a loaf of bread and a few coins. The boy was given a day rations and shown the door. Rigwyn swallowed hard as the hurt from being rejected and cast out was far more painful than the beating that he had endured. His eyes floated around lost and without a place to focus. In a flash his demeanor changed. Something inside had snapped. His fear suddenly turned to anger and he felt as if his blood had begun to boil. He did not care if he was beaten or insulted any more. Somehow that part of him seemed to have left.  He spat at Izalox and stormed out the door slamming it behind him. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small black glyph that he had received from Oriven two cycles ago. He kneaded it in his hands as he ranted in his mind about Izalox and Zalloh wishing that they would suffer immensely. With each curse he uttered his anger dissipated a little more and the glyph seemed to tingle in his palm.

Jaida had woke up early to save a seat for herself and her new friend. She combed her hair whilst practicing different funny expressions and grimaces in the small mirror that hung above her bed. She hurried down the scrawny ladder which lead to the main hall of the temple. People had already gathered downstairs, their idle banters slowly rising to the ceiling. She sought herself to the bench where she and Rigwyn had sat the day before. With high expectations she put her hands in her lap, impatiently waiting for him to show up.
The sermon started, but there was still no sign of her friend. Her first reaction was that she had scared him away. A tear searched it's way down her cheek as she drooped to the sound of chants and praises to Laanx. The seemingly endless preaching stopped as the azure sun began to rise over the city. Saddened she walked out the temple dragging her feet, she kicked the ground stirring up some dust which was caught in a soft breeze.
Suddenly she spotted the Lemur which had accompanied Rigwyn the day before. He was coughing wildly as he made his way through a crowd in the plazaa, seemingly in a foul mood.
Impulsively Jaida followed the Lemur which was heading in direction of the winch. While standing before the massive gates of the winch Izalox looked around himself before turning left, changing his direction towards the sewers. Jaida followed him closely, her judgment proving no match for her curiosity. The lemur stopped seemingly staring at the fumes which rose from the hole leading down into the sewers. Jaida approached, firmly pulling the sleeve of his robe with a inquiring look on her face "Excuse me sir? where was Rigwyn today?"

Izalox gasped and turned quickly looking over the girl's head, when he looked down he first realized that the girl from the temple stood before him. He had thought that he was alone and was perplexed by the girl's ability to sneak up on him. Just as he was about to insult her a thought came to his mind and his demeanor changed to a more relaxed and sorrowful one.
Jaida cringed as the Lemur looked as if he grew even angrier when he turned to her, yet in the blink of an eye the anger that boiled in his eyes was swept away. Leaving him seemingly sad, his eyes filling with sympathy.
Izalox knelt down on one knee so that Jaida would not have to look up at him and placed his hands on her shoulders as if to console her.
"Laanx has punished Rigwyn for carrying on like a fool in the temple during yesterday's service. On the way home a huge bolt of lightning came down from the sky and struck him down. All that remained was a scorch mark on the ground and a very crispy piece of his skin. A few of his fingers and toes remained on the ground too."
Izalox's face drooped as he looked at Jaida waiting for her to react to his words. Jaida was shocked, quickly growing uncomfortable in his firm grip. The lemurs way of describing Rigwyn's demise disgusted her almost as much as it scared her. She shivered as his dull black eyes dug deep into hers, his sharp tongue continued to spew the most awful things.
As her face began to sadden he began to bite his tongue, desperately trying to hold back a smile. "I wonder if maybe Laanx sent him to a secret place and is hurting him. Perhaps pulling his ears, twisting his little tail and lashing his back. Laanx is not a forgiving god my child. Keep that in mind and perhaps you will not get on his bad side."

Jaida's eyes widened at the profanity he spoke about Laanx. This was not the god she knew, nor was it the way Daphvir had taught her to interpret the book of names. Tears began to wander down her cheek's as Izalox nails dug into her shoulders. His vile yellow teeth exposed like a beast stalking it's prey.
The expression of horror on Jaida's face made Izalox feel euphoric. The struggle to keep a straight face was becoming incredibly difficult but he did his best not to smile. His next statement would surely bring him to a climax so he suppressed the urge as best as he could.
Jaida swallowed the lump in her throat, growing increasingly terrified as the lemur appeared to be struggling not to part his cold lips in a smile. As if he was getting some sick pleasure out of preaching to her and feeling her shiver in his hands.
Izalox altered his voice in a more child-friendly voice. His eyes wide open as he enunciated each word carefully. "Gods are not like us people. They are not your friends or buddies. If you make them angry they will hurt you very, very badly. It would be much safer to just stay away from Laanx, that way you won't make him angry by mistake. Right?"
The lemur looked at Jaida holding her still as he waited for her response. After a moment of silence he began to nod his head up and down a little prompting her to answer "yes"
Jaida had a horrified expression on her face, was laanx really a god who reigned without mercy, one who would strike down an innocent boy. Her friend? a intense feeling of disgust filled Jaida as the lemur began to nod, as if wanting her to agree. In a desperate attempt to free herself she grabbed Izalox hand which had rested upon her shoulder, biting it as hard as she could. The lemur roared as her teeth dug into his flesh, he withdrew his hands and the hateful look which had boiled in his eyes returned.
Jaida ran as fast as her legs could carry her, thankfully she was not followed.
She threw herself on her bed after entering the place which had up until now been her refuge.
The blasphemy the lemur had spoken slowly repeated itself in her head, was laanx really an evil vengeful god?
The fate that had come to her friend struck her first as she burrowed her face in her pillow. She prayed for Rigwyn, hoping he was safe and that the lemur was just an awful liar. Not knowing what else to do she cried herself to sleep, plagued by horrific nightmares throughout the night.
She woke up in the morning determined to leave the temple. She sought an audience with the head of the clergy, pleading her case. It was decided that she would be sent to Gurgontid where she would be educated in the ways of peace and nature.
And so it was that Jaida left the temple, yet many questions remained. Would she ever find out what happened to Rigwyn?

[These logs are extremely graphic, so if you are squeamish or overly sensitive i recommend that you skip this entry. - Thank you!]

Ardeth continued his search for Rigwyn and Shangshi, he had asked a number of random people of their whereabouts, yet this method had got him nowhere so far. A tall female ynnwn caught his eye as she casually walked about the plazaa, he approached. Hoping she would impart him with the whereabouts of the dangerous men he wish he had never met.

Ardeth looks up at Kaerli 'Oi.. Would'ye happen to know where'i'can find Rigwyn?'
Kaerli says: Oh, I last saw him at the tavern sewer entrance, don't know wherehe is now.
Ardeth coughs slightly 'Thank's ye lass' before looking around the plazaa
Kaerli says: Sir, by the way, you wouldn't happen to know a skilled apothecary now, would you?
Kaerli says: Someone who's willing to keep his work confidential, as well.
Ardeth grunts, seemingly agitated by the question 'Tha't wench Elady'ight be able to help'ye.. Though'confidentiality.. i'wouldn't count on it'
Kaerli laughs slightly "First, she's a good friend of mine...second, she's not exactly who'd I call a wench..."
Ardeth spits to the ground as he shrugs 'Maybe'ye don't know a'wench when ye see one' He looks around the plaaza again, seemingly in search of someone 'Is'tha all?' he hisses
Kaerli says: Yes, that is all.
Ardeth walks away with a mocking grin on his lips
Kaerli says: Farewell sir.
Kaerli Stronwylle waves at Ardeth Angstom

Frustrated by the fact that he was back on square Ardeth decided to pay a visit to harnquist, the grizzled blacksmith would surely know something. As he closed in on the smithy he noticed a cloaked figure in the corner of his eye.

Ardeth observes the cloaked figure suspiciously
Rigwyn looks past the stairs noticing a familiar looking Yilian
Rigwyn lowers his handkerchief revealing part of his face for a moment
Ardeth walks up to the tree leaning against it as he spits to the ground, shooting the the cloaked man a slight nod
Rigwyn walks away seemingly uninterested

Ardeth follows the cloaked man from a far. The man stops in his tracks as he reaches the gazebo by the laanx temple. Ardeth approaches not knowing who is hidden under the cloak.

Ardeth gestures for the cloaked man to follow him as he bumps into his shoulder
Ardeth growls at the cloaked man 'Show'ye face'
Ardeth takes a few steps back as a precaution
Rigwyn looks at Ardeth "its rare that I see you around here. Makes me wonder what you might be up to." Rigwyn pulls the handkerchief from his helmet revealing his face.
Rigwyn says: Thrice the tria ?
Ardeth looks visibly frightened as Rigwyn reveals his face 'You..' he says, reaching for a knife tucked away in his vest
Rigwyn reaches for his glyph sack taking a step back "How bout we forget about that little incident eh ? For a small fee"
Ardeth cringes as he moves towards the exit slowly 'I'made a mistake'see.. An'd i was punished..' he says as he reveals the badly healed scar tissue where is ear used to be.
Rigwyn wrinkles his nose at the sight "I see .. your lucky that not all that was taken from you"
Ardeth nods as he looks through his brow with anger in his eyes 'I've learned me'lesson.. And'i gots a scroll for ye'
Rigwyn says: Can't buy much with a scroll. Let see.
Ardeth takes out a scroll from his pack, holding it up before Rigwyn 'But'first, Lay'down ye weapons, for civility'
Ardeth drops his knife to the floorboards as a sign of good faith
Ardeth Angstom dropped a Kitchen Knife.
Rigwyn watches Ardeth cautiously as he slowly kneads a glyph in his palm. He then holds both hands up with his knuckles facing Ardeth. The glyph pinched in his palm facing himself.
Rigwyn says: "Im unarmed"
Ardeth throws the sealed scroll to Rigwyn with a frown.
Rigwyn squats to pick up the scroll with his left hand keeping a steady stare.
Ardeth gave Rigwyn a book called "Intricate sealed scroll".
Ardeth shifts uncomfortably as a cold breeze enters the gazebo
Rigwyn opens the note and reads it careful not to expose the glyph. He looks up and then tucks it away.

The scroll reads:
"We will be cruel to those who fail us, and through our cruelty failure will be avoided. When our brethren find the disfigured and dismembered remains of those who have brought disgrace to our master, they will learn to avoid such failure."

If you are reading this the man before you has served his purpose, and others will learn from his failure.
Go forth Rigwyn, show your faith through cruelty.

Rigwyn says: "We have urgent work to do ! One of our brethren is in serious trouble !"
Ardeth spits to the ground 'Ye? who'ight tha'be?'
(20:04:19) Rigwyn looks at Ardeth with a serious expression "Are you ready to redeem yourself ? "
(20:04:40) Ardeth nods with a hollow expression
(20:05:23) Rigwyn says: Follow me ! no time to explain

Rigwyn darts off towards the north gate, Ardeth does his best to keep up his pace. They run swiftly down the path in the magic Forrest, Ardeth stopping to catch his breath.

Ardeth pants as he puts his hands on his knees 'Me'body wheren't made fo'running!'
Rigwyn says: "Quickly ! no time to waste ! This should have been dealt with days ago"
Ardeth looks around 'Where in'dakkru's dark-crack are'we going?'

They reach the coal mine on the outskirts of the magic Forrest after a few more minutes of running, Ardeth now completely exhausted stops to catch his breath.

Ardeth looks around with caution 'Oi.. what'is'this'ere?'
Rigwyn says: "We have a bother who runs a business over this way .. bet you didn't know he was one of us"
Rigwyn says: Listen .. out brother has a bit of a dilemma
Ardeth pants, exhausted from the run 'Ye?'
Rigwyn says: It seems he's been flappin his gums .. tellin folks things he shouldn't be tellin.
Rigwyn says: You know what he need to do to him .. right ?
Ardeth fidgets the handle of his knife 'Aye'let's hurry'
Ardeth unsheats his knifes as he armors himself with a horned helmet which he un-straps from his belt.
Rigwyn reaches into his sack and pulls out a battle hammer "Blades .. they 're just too quick"
Rigwyn says: Put the blades away .. I want this to go slowly.
Rigwyn says: Take this
Ardeth grunts 'Fair enough.'
Ardeth looks around the green fields, weary of onlookers.
Rigwyn drops his shield and then holds the battle hammer with two hands
Ardeth takes several steps back 'Oi, what are you doing?'
Rigwyn says: "Givin to ya .. here .. "
Rigwyn holds the hammer in front of himself.
Ardeth reaches out to grab the hammer from Rigwyn with a firm expression
Rigwyn swings the hammer back and begins to raise it
Ardeth jumps back as he unsheats his knifes again, just avoiding sure death from the hammer as it passes through the air, just before his face.
Rigwyn grunts as the hammer misses. Angered he looks up at Ardeth
Ardeth points ones of the knifes towards Rigwyn's face 'I've suffred'enough! leave'me be'
Rigwyn chages towards Ardeth - this time attempting to jab the handle of the hammer into his abdomen
Ardeth gasps for air due to the sudden attack, he stabs the knife in his right hand towards Rigwyns cheek, slashing the other towards his hands.
Rigwyn's cheek is sliced all the way from the jaw to the lip. It quivers and flaps dripping blood as he screams . With cold gaze he attempts to punch Ardeth in the face while holding the hammer in his clenched fist.
Ardeth smiles weakly as his knife cuts into Rigwyns cheek. The smile transcending in a grimace as Rigwyns fist connects with his nose with a loud crack, leaving blood spewing out of it 'Ye'bastard, I'll gut'ye good' he roars
Ardeth aims a kick towards Rigwins groin with his right leg
Rigwyn attempts to grab the Ardeth's foot as it nears his groin.
Ardeth is caught off balance as Rigwyn grabs his foot, he lunges towards him, attempting to get him to the ground.
Rigwyn jumps back holding Ardeth's foot firmly. He then attempts to twist it hard and fast
Ardeth falls to the ground as his foot is twisted with a snap. He crawls backwards as he raises his hands 'I'll give ye circles! just'let me walk, nobody'will ever'see me again!'
Ardeth Angstom takes a seat.
Rigwyn attempts to shout something back but its completely unintelligible. His jaw moves but the severed flash flaps about freely. Streams of blood and saliva splatter. Frustrated, Rigwyn swings the hammer again aiming it at Ardeth's leg.
Ardeth screams in anger as the hammer pummels his leg. he tries to get back to his feet, but fails.
Rigwyn gets closer to Ardeth, this time aiming the hammer at his thigh.
Ardeth cringes as his thigh is crushed under the hammer, he spits towards Rigwyns face as he roars 'Ye'are just a pawn. Don't'ye get it? we are being'used'
Rigwyn shouts "ehh Thhailuu..." but it sounds nothing like "You Failure!" . He raises the hammer again with a lustful zeal.
Ardeth grits his teeth as he grabs his thigh, dropping his knifes. He raises his arms as if protect himself as Rigwyn raises his hammer, giving him a pleading look.
Rigwyn's eyes widen with rage as the hammer reaches its peak. With a grunt he drives it downward aiming at Ardeth's shoulder.
Ardeth screams in agony as his shoulder is crushed from the forceful blow. He falls back in the grass as he pleads 'Please'ave mercy!'
Rigwyn slobbers blood and saliva as he tries in vain to say "Mercy is for the weak!" Again he raises the hammer high
Ardeth looks at the scar he cut in Rigwyns cheek with a weak grin 'Finish'me you filthy'dog' he cringes as he closes his eyes
Ardeth attempts to hide his pain from Rigwyn, since he considers showing pain is the same as being weak.
Rigwyn's widen again this time shifting towards Adeth's face. He clenches his teeth together and brings the hammer down aiming at Ardeth's arm.
Ardeth looks shocked as his arm is broken in half from the blow, he lets out a torturous scream as it falls back in the grass, twitching uncontrollably
Rigwyn stands up and walks to his sack which he dropped nearby. He drops the hammer and pulls out a fine bottle of Terevan wine.
Rigwyn turns towards Ardeth holding it up as if to offer a drink.
Ardeth reaches out with his healthy arm towards the bottle with a hollow expression, spitting on Rigwyns boots.
Rigwyn grasps the bottle by its neck and swings it at Ardeth's face attempting to smash the wide end. ""eersss" he says , though it sounds nothing like "Cheers"
Ardeth falls back as the bottle is crushed against his face, cutting it wide open. Blood begins to seep into the grass as he gasps for air 'Why?' he says weakly
Rigwyn says: "ooohh haildd" Rigwyn shouts as he takes the broken handle of the bottle and attempts to dig it into the side of Ardeth's neck. "Oooh hailed !"
Ardeth gurgles as the broken bottle digs into his flesh, his mouth begins to fill with blood.
Rigwyn reaches to his side for a healing potion. He then pours a little onto where the bottle cut him, and some more on his face.
Rigwyn then pulls off his right glove revealing a pair of prosthetic Enki shaped fingers with razor sharp claws
Ardeth spits as the potion is poured over him, he turns over on his stomach, desperately trying to crawls away from Rigwyn
Rigwyn attempts to grab Ardeth and cut his shirt open with his sharpened metallic claw.
Ardeth kicks back against Rigwyn's knee as the claw cuts into his shirt, not knowing what else to do.
Rigwyn frowns at Ardeth as his knee is struck. He winces in pain and then attempts to punch Ardeth in the curl of his lip.
Ardeth shifts to his side as Rigwyns fist connects with his jaw, rendering him unconscious.
Ardeth lays back in the grass as the bleeding from his neck seems to have stopped, his eyes transfixed with the setting azure sun.
Rigwyn cuts Ardeth's shirt open and then begins to carve something into his chest with his metallic claw.
Ardeth twitches frantically as the claw cuts into his flesh, a tear runs down his cheek as he is unable to fight back.
Rigwyn makes a half smile as he finishes his work. It reads "Hugs and kisses, Elady"
Ardeth shivers in torment as blood spews from the carved message 'Kill'me.. Make it stop!' he pleads as he begins to turn pale.
Rigwyn steps away for a moment and tosses a circle cutter on the ground. He then takes out a sharp sword and raises it
Rigwyn Setson dropped a Circle Cutter.
Rigwyn swings the sword hard at Ardeth's leg attempting to lob it off.
Ardeth glances at the circle cutter, turning paler by the second. He looks down at his leg as the sword cuts deep into his thigh, snapping the bone in half. He lets out another torturous scream. His pleads transcending into a death wish 'Kill'me, make it'stop!'
Rigwyn cuts off the remainder of the leg and then drops his sword. with his right had he reaches for another healing potion and pours it on Ardeth's stump attempting to heal it.
Ardeth screams again, hoping somebody will save him. The blood loss causing his vision to dim.
Ardeth digs his fingers into the dirt as the blood spewing out of his torso colors the grass beneath them red.
Rigwyn takes the sword once more, this time attempting to make a deep incision in Ardeth's side.
Ardeth begins to shake uncontrollably as the sword digs into his side, he gurgles loudly as blood begins to make it's way up his throat.
Rigwyn puts his sword away and picks up the leg. He then attempts to beat Ardeth to death with it. With each swing blood flies out in every direction. The leg makes a lame thud like sound as it connects.
Ardeth's screams are smothered by the blood spewing from his mouth, he is mercilessly pummeled as blood spatters all around, his eyes finally rolls back into his skull as he stops moving. Seemingly dead
Rigwyn grows frustrated as he contends with the awkwardness of the leg which flaps at the knee. He throws it to the side and then wanders off looking around.
Ardeth plays dead, hoping that Rigwyn will leave him be. Slowly fading due to the blood loss.
Rigwyn makes his way to the road. His face half torn apart and body soaked in bloody spatters. He runs off to hide somewhere while he tries to figure out what to do about his face.

Gasping for air Ardeth realizes that he is done for. He had payed the price and tasted the revenge of the blackflame, lured into a false sense of security by the stranger who had found him in Ojadeva. Death was imminent, and he slowly realized this. A ynnwn approached him, yet the blood loss had dimmed his vision to the point of not being able to make out a face.

Ardeth struggles for air, about to suffocate as blood makes it's way up his throat. He has been horribly disfigured as his right leg has been dismembered and a deep cut has been made into the side of his ribs, several of his limbs seems to have been crushed. there is a message carved into his chest reading 'Hugs and kisses Elady'
Elady kneels down and starts applying healing magic
Ardeth shivers from the brutal torture he has been put through. He tries to say something, yet his words are drowned in the blood spewing from his mouth.
Elady looks down at Ardeth frustrated at the fact she seems to be to late wondering who would do such a thing and leave such a message.
Elady says: First the menki in the red robes and now this..
Ardeth reaches out for Elady with the only limb who wasn't crushed, his right arm. He gives a pleading look as his eyes begin to flutter.
Elady looks at Ardeth " Actually it is better if you go to the death realm so you will be whole again. If I healed you you would not regain your lost limb.
Elady says: May we meet again when you have come back from the death realm so I know who did this to you.
Ardeth attempts to look down at the stump remaining of his leg, it's seems to have been healed already. He lowers his arm again, not having the strength to keep it up.
Ardeth slowly closes his eyes, as if beginning to let go.
Elady looks sad realizing she can't do any more to help.
Ardeth twitches one last time as his eyes close, his body slowly fades revealing the blood soaked grass beneath him.
[Thanks to Rigwyn for the rp. I guess Ardeth messed with the wrong crowd  :surrender:]

Ardeth had searched for days and nights. His task was clear, yet it's deceptive traits was disturbing to him. "Fail me again.. And you will know what it is to truly suffer". The strangers words had haunted him day and night. It was another clear day in Hydlaa, A nolthrir standing in the middle of the plazaa caught his eye as he made his way through the wretched city. Her features matched the description given to him.. His task was clear.

Ardeth clears his throat as he approaches Mellas
Mellas looks up at Ardeth as she takes a seat by the fountain. 'Can I help you?'
 Mellas Fenixxes takes a seat.
Ardeth shrugs as he spits into the fountain 'Not'me missy.. Whats'ye name?'
Mellas makes a face as the ylian spits into the clear water and gives the man a look. 'Searching for someone?'
Ardeth takes a seat next to Mellas 'I'seek tha'person missing a phoenix' he says with a hollow expression.
 Ardeth Angstom takes a seat.
Ardeth rubs the place where his right ear used to be as he watches his reflection in the water, he looks up at Mellas, searching   for her reaction.
Mellas's hazel eyes widen and she sits up straight. Giving Ardeth a suspicious frown she speaks carefully. 'Then you have found who you are looking for. What do you know?'
Mellas keeps her eyes focused on the other, trying to calculate his true intent.
Ardeth does not seem to react as Mellas answers 'Walk'ith me Mellas' he says coldly as he gets to his feet.
 Ardeth Angstom stands up.
Ardeth tightens his fist as he contemplates over his task.
Mellas watches Ardeth stand up, taking a moment to think about the his cold order. But alas, what did she have to lose? 'Very well,' she says softly as she gets up. 'Lead the way.'
 Mellas Fenixxes stands up.

Ardeth leads Mellas to the gazebo next to the laanx temple. He had learned to be weary of onlookers. One must always hide in shadow, that was the code he had sworn, yet had failed to follow so far.

Mellas hesitantly enters the gazebo, flashing the ylian a curious look. 'What is this?'
Ardeth tries to recall the instructions 'Eerr.. listen'ere. What would ye say if i told ye.. I'knew a woman once, she'had a pretty green'ribbon in her hair.. Would'ye fear for this woman?' he says coldly
 Ardeth watches Mellas reaction intently
Mellas swallows, unconsciously taking a step back as her thoughts are racing. 'No..' she answers after a while. 'No, why should I fear someone I know nothing about?'
Ardeth frowns slightly as she takes a step back, he reaches into his pack. Handing her a note 'Take this'ere'
Mellas gingerly moves forward again to accept the note from Ardeth's hand. She gives him a last careful glance before reading it through.
Ardeth gave Mellas a book called "Blood stained note".
Ardeth scratches his head as he attempts to alter his voice 'Choose your priorities well.. For that is the only way you will see your phoenix again'
Ardeth coughs, as he is attempting to alter his voice
Mellas's face turns deadly pale, the note shivering in her hands when she finished. 'No...' she whispers ever so softly, her eyes brimming with tears. 'W- who are you?'
Mellas tries to say more, but her own voice doesn't seem to listen to her. She leans back against the railing, staring blankly at the blood-stained note as she clenches it in her hand.
Ardeth grunts as he throws a severed finger to the floor 'I am nobody, i wish you good luck.. Mellas' he says coldly

"Ardeth grunts as he throws a severed finger to the floor"
Ardeth points at the finger 'Whatever task is at hand.. Surely should be ignored for this one. no?'
Ardeth coughs again, having trouble as he tries to talk fluently.
Mellas jumps back at the sight of the finger, gasping with shock and fear. Averting her gaze quickly, she closes her eyes and doesn't respond to Ardeth's question.
Ardeth leaves the gazebo with a hollow expression

One down.. two to go. Ardeth had two more notes carefully tucked in his satchel, when he had finished the task maybe he could start a new life far away from this madness? he would not let his thirst for tria blind him again, the torture he has endured was indeed horrid yet strangely humbeling in a way.
