Because of a lot of things going on in RL I don't have much time to play these days, but I would be happy if it worked like that in the future. I am an advisor already, so no change there.

I was thinking something like an OOC-poster (private book) on the "billboards" ingame. One administrator updating it after a forum post (I would happily do that).
But yes, putting the list here wouldn't make sense, given that I rarely see new names on here. Sort of ruins the point.
Any other ideas/opinion, people?

Wish list / Language help for non-native English speakers

I have met confused newbies around the plaza speaking Spanish, German and something else during the short time I have been around; and one of the times it seemed to be somewhat impossible to get the person to understand, that it's a requirement for people to speak English in main. To help with even the simplest technical issues can be a bit challenging as well, and that’s a shame, and it must be very frustrating for the new players too.
What about making a list of experienced player's names and mother tongues/spoken languages? Persons who would be willing to help the new players finding their way around in the game?
I write Danish and English and understand Swedish and Norwegian as well.

« on: March 03, 2013, 01:51:20 am »@Zazhia: We have less than 100 people online. I don't like contrived RP either but we simply don't have enough people for regular casual encounters. Every time my character randomly greets another character that the character dosen't know the character, and likely the player too, is confused. That means people are not even in the habit of casual encounter RP. Get more people first, then we can pick and choose.
I generally get good responses when approaching people and greeting them. We must meet different people :-)

I do too support the idea of more RP and people encouraging it, but I fail to see why East Hydlaa is a better spot than Harnquist for trading, given we are such a few players. It's of critical importance that there are people there because of newcomers - as already pointed out earlier.
Another thing is, that I generally dislike "constructed RP". As in announcing and planning every time I should either buy or sell something OOC in gossip. It drags real life into my RP, and I honestly don't see the need - or how it would improve the game in any way. To me it would only serve to break the illusion.

« on: February 15, 2013, 01:45:41 am »It might be a good idea to find people who speak your native language inside the game.For example there is a big German speaking community but there are small number of players from a big variety of countries.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to create a list of players that will contain information about what languages do they speak so that people who do not speak English well find help more quickly.
I know this post is old, but I actually think this is a GREAT idea. Any plans on that?
