how about:

if there\'s other people in your group(im assuming that theres an option where you can invite people to your party), and you ask for a mission...it is assigned to everyone in the group. But, if there\'s different parts to the quest (like, A: get object X B: destroy X) the NPC\'s assign the parts to dfferent people in the group. so if there\'s 4 people, NPC will assign 2 to get object X, and 2 to destroy X

So basically, the first way I can think of getting weapon experience is killing badies. Another one i can think of is learning from fellow players. What if, there were different kinds of classes of weapon experience. Like, one enemy requires a sort of \"piercing\" attack with the weapon you have, so if you have a sword, you stab the monster with it. Or a more common one would be slashing dmg and so forth. How much experience you get depends on how \"hard\" the monster is. Once you gain enough experience in the category it requires, a master can teach it to you.

A way to implement the special feats into the game is how SWG did it. You get these macros(or whatever you call them) and can put them at the top of the screen and assign a hotkey to it. So when your fighting, you can select for example...disarm, and it appears in a window until it is used. If you have more than one you want to use, they stack and happen one after the other.

ok so lets refine this :P , lets say, theres an experience bar that shows how much knowledge of  the weapon you have, shows that you can wield it well, etc. So when you visit a master at a certain weapon, he\'ll only teach the skill/feat/ special ability when you have enough \"experience\" with the chosen weapon. Then once you learn it, you can teach it to other players that have enough experience. These skills or whatever can range from new abilities, to just enhancing the damage you do with that weapon

Wish list / Weapon realism?
« on: December 19, 2003, 04:15:59 am »
I\'ve been reading threads about flails and whips, and came across something...what about real life weapon realism? Or at least something close. Say that you reach a certain level in using whips, you can gain an ability that gives a % chance to wrap around a targets legs and trip them, or disarm their current weapon. Or you gain an ability for the flail, which only works when the target has a shield, that gives a percent chance to negate the block percentage or whatever. But the real problem I see with this is that its gonna have to take A LOT of animation work...

i didn\'t mean for them to code it in 2 months...but maybe they could just alter monsters that lived in different areas, i dont really want to push too hard on that idea since crystal blues comin out...maybe later they could add that kind of stuff in.

Wish list / some ideas

Currently in Biology, we are studying the process of evolution, which through time makes a species more adapted to their enviroment. Since this game will be \"ever evolving\", why not add in the feature that monsters can evolve? Like, a certain group of monsters are spred evenly among the land. Some of them live in hot, dry conditions, like a desert, and adapt skills and resistances such as resistance to fire magic(or whatever). Or, if a group lived near a body of water, then they their limbs can adapt so they can swim, or at least be able to hide in the water, presenting the idea of ambushes.  So, as you travel through the land, you\'ll always encounter different creatures depending on the enviroment

Another idea I have is weapon aging. In games like Diablo, your weapon needs to be repaired if you use it alot. But my idea of weapon aging, is that all your weapons age, and need to be repaired/restored if you want to use them. Over time, a swords blade gets more dull(unless its magical)so you have to sharpen it. So maybe you can buy items like whetstones so when your weapons get dull, you can sharpen them again.

Will there be player built stores? Like in Star Wars Galaxies, players can have stores where they craft items and put them in a vendor(I\'m not sure if thats how it works because i dont play star wars galaxies). So maybe if your not a builder, you can rent space in a building and use that to sell your goods or crafted items.

Is there any chance that you can switch to 3rd person? I\'ve played Morrowind, and i didn\'t really like the 1st person experience...

I guess that\'s all i have in mind right now, please read over it and tell me what you think.
