I too like many others am saddened by this decry.

The Rangers Guild was an inspiration to many of us.

All that i can hope for is that while the guild no longer exists its individual members will continue to be  prominent members of this world

Of course, Mondo, and i have no problem giving credit where due.... so thanks.....
especially since by replying to you i further extend the life of this thread :)
but even you have to admit that it was Faldie\'s \"wild\" comments that kept the thread active afterwards

of course, if anyone else out there would like to comment in anyway about the Blitzers
please feel free to add your two cents (or what ever you think it is worth) here

Yes, you certainly always call it as you see it ?.. but as you may learn not everything you see is as you perceive it. Notwithstanding, you are right about the fact that the Blitzers were established on strong foundations contrived by its early members and leaders (which just happen to include you). It is these foundations which have helped the BG become the great guild it is today. This said, other guilds founded on at least as strong if not stronger foundations have come and gone while the BG  \"? strive Coming together To stay alive.\"  In other words, continue to thrive because of its current members and leadership. I think you should be proud and gratified that the \"current\" BG has kept to its original concepts and manner, which you helped establish, and used them as the building blocks for its basis today instead of throwing them away and starting anew like other guilds have.  For these reasons I think you should only have praise and commendations and not words of criticism for the current BG membership.

On a personnel note I miss having you around in the BG?you and your very vocal and critical commentary about anything and everything?. Keep it up :)

i think that background stories are a nice thing to have for a RP game... BUT, not all of us are prolific writers with elaborate stories to tell about our characters. Furthermore i think that the reason to have a background story is to give some rhyme and reason to the characteristics we wish our character to have.... therfore i believe the most important thing is to be able to assign attributes and features to a character. It is these characteristic that will be defining factors in our character whether they are accompanied by an autobiography or not.
In short, should be an option and not a requirment

just my two cents worth.....

hmmmm..... maybe i am simple minded but i always thought that \"PLANESHIFT- A universe is not enough \"
was refering to the fact that a universe is not enough that there should also be things like life forms as well as food and drink for them.... maybe even a whole range of material items not to mention some things for the mind and soul....

but hey, what do i know ???

Actually, i think it is very nice of Axsyrus, Xordan, Draklar and other non-blitzer member to take time out of their busy schedule and add their comments to a blitzer thread.
It makes me all warm and fuzzy to think that we are that important to them.

thanks people
hope we will forever be in your thoughts

I am not a prolific writer, therefore I will try to keep this short.  I have been reading posts on this forum now for several months and according to all definitions i?m a newbie. Furthermore, this will be my first post on this forum!! None the less, I felt compelled to add my two cents worth.
Nostalgia is a great thing but there is no future in it. Being an oldie is good but only if you use it to add depth and character to the community. Having newbies is important? without them there would be no oldies? and they may/will add more depth and character to the community. It is the interaction between members, whether new or old, that make a community. Both the members and the community are ?living? things that evolve and are ever changing. I think an important job the oldies can/should take upon themselves is to see that the evolution takes on a positive (which can mean a lot of different thing to different people) directions by guiding and setting example.
At last, I would like to say that not all oldies appear to me to be so beneficial to the community and not all newbies so detrimental. In fact I think that even a few of the oldies actually like having some of us newbies around.

Well I wasn?t too successful in keeping this short but at least I got that of my chest.
Hope to see you all in PS
