Good point Cyl, but you could always just stick an extra tail mesh on the model like adding a clothing mesh to a model :D

& Karyuu, this time I\'m sure this is related to Gameplay in General....  :D (or at least it might effect Gameplay in General :P)

OK, I\'d like all your opinions on this: Besides clothing, skin color, & head (hair & ears)
How much different physically are Ylians, Xacha, Nolthrir, Dermorians, Lemur, Diaboli, & Ynnwn?

What I\'m saying is that these races could have the same 3D Model for the body, just have a different model for the head, different texture for the skin & different clothing.

Do they really need separate body models? Are they really that much different from eachother?

(I\'m thinking Enkidukai, Klyros & Krans are going to be different from the rest, dwarfs are not as different, but for them to look right, they need different proportions.)

Having the same body model for most of the races does have many benefits such as you can apply an animation to any character of the same body type. Also helps while making clothes & armor, you do not need to make 12 different armor models anymore (one for each race)

In the game, any model can be scaled to any height really easy, so height isn\'t any problem. For males there could even be 2 separate models, one muscular & a not so muscular one. Not sure how much difference the female model would need (not an expert in female physiology. :P)
Things like muscles & curves could also be defined in clever texture work....

I\'d apreciate pointing out anything different about them that would need consideration such as; \"Diaboli have tails\"

I was ahead of my time... I was trying to make a fishing lake a while back (but no shack) I made a fishing pole, & I\'ve done fish before, like 2 years ago.... I\'ll go bug jose about this tomorrow, is this project still active? :D I\'ll finish it myself if it isn\'t... Fishing!

[I am a bit loopy atm from lack of sleep... So if I said anything strange, I wont remember...]

Well, my true form is that of a talking arctic fox, but I can transform into just about anything, can I join? I know a spell to make inanimate objects talk! It comes from an alternate reality, but principle should be the same, well I might need a banana to make it work.... (where am I going to get  banana :P)

[Since there are no other foxes to my knowledge in Yliakum, I figure my character comes from an alternate universe... :]]

I\'ll turn into a large battle axe & everything!

[I should model a axe now... .. . .. ...done in record time!]



[*edit* ineresting side note, it just so happens to have 256 faces.... I really should get some sleep, well \"If you hang out ith crazy people...\" :D]

I just kind of figured your char dies of natural courses when you leave the game... never really thought about it much besides that, I figure that everyone in the PS world is immortal weather it be of natural or otherwise death... They (as in the characters) do not have a proper understanding of aging or what it means to die & never be seen from ever again for only the reason is that you have to bug some of the settings devs in #planeshift (freenode.net) to think up some information on the topic...

Is it passable for your character to believe in reincarnation if no-one stays permanently dead? :P

hehehe, actually It ??hough the entire atmosphere of the two games feel kind of similar, but it\'s the people that really make the difference... That doesn\'t make Planeshift un-original.

If you want to talk about copycats, compare the movies that Disney/Pixar & Dreamworks came out with after Shrek.... :P

ya, it belongs here, the forums have changed, or I never realized that General was under \"Gameplay\" in the forums...

Just so that this gets more off-topic, I hear the forums are going to be making a big change soon.... :P so to make it on-topic I will had: maybe it wasn\'t the best time to plan on being more active on the fan art forum... :D

this is the problem I has before with the forums & chatrooms & such, they are so addicting I\'d spend all my time on them.... :O I need sleep, I\'ll see if I can start on some 3D stuff tomorrow.. err.. later on today, for some of you.... It\'s past my  02:00am bedtime....  :O

I\'d actually be really glad if PS was more like Oblivion (next game in the ES series after Morrowind), That game looks awesome & has voice-overs for I think every npc (although it does have some dialog script bugs that make people sound like they have split personalities... :P) I\'d agree that Planeshift is probably the mmorpg most similar to Elder Scrolls... (or I should say ES is similar to PS...) Oh, & I think there was a mod to Morrowind what allowed you to play it online with a friend... :D

Well, you new people probably do not know who I am, & I was probably more well known to frequent #planeshift & #ps-mc on freenode, but to those who remember, I\'ve returned...

Well, I didn\'t really plan on leaving, one day I sort of fell through a whole in the \"world.\" & was lost to Oblivion (fun game) & many other things... I still have a ton of stuff going on, but I started to miss my hobby of 3D Modelling...

Anyway, a couple of days ago I started getting emails about the ps-mc thread getting active again & then JosePheonix sent me an email wondering were I\'ve been... So I guess I\'m back here...

Basically, I rarely never spend any time playing Planeshift, but instead spend it making 3D models & other mods to the game. You may see me around ps-mc.com or the fan art forum, or on freenode, (If it will let me on, keeps refusing my connection...)

So that\'s about it...
Oh, & If I\'m to disappear again, have a couple people poke this thread, (I\'ll get emails about it...)

PS: Anyone mind telling me what I missed while I was gone? :P

Games I have played, only the first couple of quests in the game are doable in a row, but once you have completed a couple of them, you get to the point were you are not strong enough to complete the next one & you have to spend hours training just to get to the next quest, & by that time the exp/money reward for the quest is not usually even worth it.

So, I say that you should get more & more relative exp for doing quests, if you spent 2 hours on a quests, you should get more exp then if you spent 2 hours endlessly fighting monsters.

You should be able to advance just as fast or faster only doing quests (even accounting walking time from npc to quest & back). And there should be enough quests so there isn\'t a gap were you have to endlessly kill monsters. Also I\'d like randomness in quests (such as finding a certain thing, it should not be in the same place every time you do the quest so it\'s unmapable...)

well, one thing about this is people can create a new char,  run around screaming who knows what disturbing everyone talking 1337 & such & then when a GM comes on, they delete there Char & the GM cannot find them to punish them, it will say \"Character does exist\" or something....

What I think should happen is when you delete a Char it goes into a holding place for about 30days & then is deleted. it frees up a space for a new Char, & also in case of you         ally deleting a Char, you can ask a GM to bring it back before the 30days are up. This way if someone does create a char just to bug ppl, the GMs can track them down before the Char is gone.

Also I think there should be a way to Re-Birth your Reincarnate your char. so it will have the same name, only you can go through Char creation again picking another race if you want. this would not need a waiting period because the name will still remain & any actions can be tracked to the same person.

Also, I know the database may be wiped from time-to-time because of bugs or new versions of the game, but there should be a thing were your account is deleted if you haven\'t logged into it for 6 to 12 months or something so that we do not run out of names.

We NEED Char Deletion! Please? :D

One thing I am wondering is, what is the polycount on the Klyros? From this I say it would be upwards of 2k to 3k or so...

I was just wondering, after we have all playable      s, are we going to have some of the older ones re-done with more detail? because compared to this, the other      s could definitely be improved as far as their geometry is concerned. :D
