Also, just because your state\'s presidential vote didn\'t go the way you wanted doesn\'t mean your vote was wasted.  There are plenty of other offices that your vote can (and does) count for.

Oh didn\'t know that (don\'t know much about the usa political system). Still republicans won on a lot of terrains i gathered here.

According to research 78 % of all statistics are lies ;).
Would be fun to think that Bush voters have a lower iq, but is probably not true.

Still the victory of Bush is a (not too unexpected) bitter pill to swallow :(. Democrats from the southern states, why didn\'t you move to states like Ohio. Then you might have won, now you vote was wasted :(.
Okay just kidding, but there are humerous aspects to this all, like the reasons of Moore not to slice your wrists, americans seriously stating on a canadian forum they want to move there.

And maybe this is a solution all can agree with:

It is a bit offtopic, but how does the political system of the usa work? I thought there were only two parties at first, yet you also have Ralph Nader with his party. Are the democrats and republicans so powerfull that other parties don\'t stand a chance?

Just curious :)

SaintNuclear, i think this thread is mainly meant to post propaganda, not start a political discussion.

Anyone: What is the difference between political advertisements and propaganda? Prior to elections the parties here of course also use advertisements. But that i wouldnt call propaganda.
And the government here has broadcast tv commercials. Like a commercial to persuade people into acting when something is being the victim of unnecesary violence (a really lame one btw). Is that propaganda?

\"Of course the people don\'t want war. But after all, it\'s the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it\'s always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it\'s a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger.\"

About the use of nuclears on Japan the following site gives a constructive version that claims that a better cultural understanding between the west and Japan might have led to a better solution:

It appears im sort of an all-rounder which i think is correct since it fits my personality and experience with rpg\'s so far. Haven\'t had experience with mmorpgs however so some answers i gave might change later.

Dispite your negative experiences drugs is usefull in the medical world though as JoeyGuy pointed out.

So why not wish for drugs to be non-addictive and non-damaging.

I know little about you phinehas, but you do sound like a great addition to ashes. We\'ll most certainly need a mage.
Im sure that you\'ll be a full member one day in ashes. Hopefully rather sooner then later.

That is just another way of saying that you want to be omnipotent.

The idea of the ability to travel in time sounds the best so far. Undoing mistakes in the past and the ability to try things out until you succeed. Like having a load/save in rl.
The negative aspect is that it gets boring if you try something for the 100th time unsuccesfully.

So my wish would be to know where and when i have to be and what to do to get closer to the important goals i have at that moment.  In time for me to react to this. Without exactly knowing why i must be there or do that thing.
As an example, knowing i should take a train instead of the bus, meeting a very attractive girl with whom i fall in love with.

Better too late then never, CONGRATULATIONS!

Pretty impressive that in such a short time the country from scratch became the superpower in the world.

Fortunately Holland traded New York (and 4 small states there) with the english. Okay okay we were forced to :)

As for that girl...Well, I\'ll just go with the flow and see what happens (after setting boundaries for myself of course).

Thats a good thing, to wait and see what happen, not expecting something to happen. As long as you don\'t limit yourself to much you can have a enjoying time with the girl or even fall in love, either way its okay.

Karakth i really think youre making it way to hard for yourself. That girl is 2 years younger... so what! At that age girls are usually more mature then boys and the difference in age is not that big.

Also im curious/fascinated about your comment on divorce. What is wrong with breaking up a marriage if the love is gone? If you don\'t all you do is keeping up appearances of something that is long gone and dead. And don\'t forget marriage is an artificial institute after all.
