Anyone remember DoubleSpace? This was an online harddisk compressor (DOS 6.0). It turned out that Microtheft was using the algorithm that the program \"Stacker\" used. M$ was sued and lost. So M$ changed the algorithm and brought us DriveSpace (DOS 6.2). Needless to say, DriveSpace had the serious flaws you\'d expect from M$ products that DoubleSpace was lacking mysteriously...

So yes, it would fit their profile. However, in this case it might just be the case that the developer who created these files was using the pirated program, so it isn\'t necessarily M$\'s fault this time.
On a somewhat related note, I wonder how many of Microthefts servers run Linux...
