Character/object selection marker
« on: February 16, 2006, 03:46:36 am »
Currently the selected character or object is marked by two symbols, one rotating clockwise, the other counter-clockwise.

Unfortunately, because the symbols are identical this looks like an annoying back-and-forth bouncing motion instead of the smooth rotation that was probably intended.

This can be fixed by either using only one rotating symbol, or by using two sufficiently different symbols, for instance one for the inner area, and one for the outer area.

Hi

Sounds pretty much like what I did for the original VR gui. It never made to the official releases though. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :)

Anyway, if you\'re interested, you can mess around with the
PS\\data\\effects\\misc\\target.eff and PS\\art\\effects\\marker02.png files to try out different markers & motions.

Is that update-safe?

Won\'t I risk losing my changes on updating?

Hello

Yes. A good way is to keep backup/source copy of your own content. People also say that you can avert the overwrite by making the files read only. Haven\'t tested it myself, but sounds like it would work.
