I\'d agree with that quote, OGRE is a good engine. I\'m no Graphics guru, but I\'ve been studing CrystalSpace for awhile now; then Dameon said something about this OGRE engine and I took a look at it. Its simple, fast, and OOP (And none of that silly Shared Class Facility [I think that\'s what its called] stuff.) It also supports both DirectX and OpenGL (which is one of the first complaints of newbs on PS, \"Why doesn\'t this use DirectX?!\".) Just watch the demos, and make sure there\'s no sharp objects on the floor, you wouldn\'t want to cut your jaw

Although, I\'m not sure how compatible it is with Linux, at the moment, but its going in a cross-platform direction (it was once Win32-only).
