Yes, another RPG, in the making. How will you people keep track? There is not much there yet but it will be a heavily role playing based game with a LOTR / Medieval / Morrowind feel.

Quote from me from Kada\'s forum:

\"I think you made a good decision choosing OGRE as your rendering engine.  Here is a quote from http://www.exodus-game.com (another game in early stages of development).

Quote
V-man and I have decided to switch from CrystalSpace to OGRE for our rendering engine.

OGRE so far has been far simpler to work with. The authors are more accessable and friendly, and there is better documentation.

In 2 days of messing with OGRE, I\'ve gotten further than V-Man and I did with CrystalSpace in 1 month.

Looking forward to seeing what you can come up with.\"

I\'d agree with that quote, OGRE is a good engine.  I\'m no Graphics guru, but I\'ve been studing CrystalSpace for awhile now; then Dameon said something about this OGRE engine and I took a look at it.  Its simple, fast, and OOP (And none of that silly Shared Class Facility [I think that\'s what its called] stuff.)  It also supports both DirectX and OpenGL (which is one of the first complaints of newbs on PS, \"Why doesn\'t this use DirectX?!\".)  Just watch the demos, and make sure there\'s no sharp objects on the floor, you wouldn\'t want to cut your jaw ;)
Although, I\'m not sure how compatible it is with Linux, at the moment, but its going in a cross-platform direction (it was once Win32-only).

I spent about a week looking through different engines, throwing out ideas to Grak and milden. When I came across OGRE, I had a feeling it would be the best for our situation. I read into it and check the screenshots. Although it is ONLY a graphical engine, the other aspects that Crystal Space has can be aquired elsewhere.

The best thing about it... its free!

I can not say how OGRE authors are accessable but I can say that the Crystal Space people are VERY accessable.  Jorrit, in particular is online every day and he even provides two email address so we can contact him at home or at work.   Many of the others on #crystalspace are always willing to answer questions or at least mention it to somebody that can.
