Yes the food making was good on ru.... i mean the game-that-wont-be-named. A good job other than baker/cook would be a farmer you could have cattle and milk them or kill them for meat and they could get mad cow dease and you would have to get a mage or alchemist to heal them but that is beside the point of the thread, it would be nice to have some sort of portable cooking system.

People are conentrating a lot on the preperation of food, but the raw materails behind it are just as important.  According to one description of the /dig commaand, it can also be used for things like digging for carrots or gathering wild mushrooms, assuming such things were added in. And I think they should- gathering could work much like mining does now. Alternately, the system for random item creation used for crystal spawns in MB could be used for spawning of things like mushrooms and fruit on trees.

/dig for truffles anybody? :P they would have to spawn randomly in the woods to keep em rare... i have more ideas.. but i am to tired to remember them XD (its morning to my other americans but to me that means sleepy time)

I agree... i use this reference a lot but please refer to RPGWO.com (the game at that site ;) ) it has a sweet cooking system that ties in with farming and cattle raising :)

(I think poisoning wold be cool, but it must be very difficult to do this, you must be an alchmist (with alchemy skills) to make poison (and potions to restore health, mgic and engery, if that wold be added). and ofcourse when you see someone poisoning food you\'ll kill him so they must look out

With this food would realy be needed, AND there taverns would be necasary so more people will come to it

great idea

heres my concept.. might be a lil complex.. but hey.. im brainstorming

-There are a set of \'nutrients\'
-Each race has an optimum level for each nutrient
-When nutrient levels are too high/low the player gets sick in some way (different way for each nutrient)
-All food has a level of each nutrient
-All food has a \'mass\' number
-Good chefs can determine food nutrient levels
-As food goes off its nutrient levels drop
-all players have a \'stomach\' number, this is dependent on stats
-when food is eaten its \'mass\' is subtracted from the \'stomach\'
-Once food has been eaten the players \'stomach\' number slowly increases, at the same time the nutrients from the food are slowly transfered to the player
- if a players stomach number is 0 they are full and cant eat

EG

Bob has optimum nutrient levels of:

Nutrient A: 30
Nutrient B: 50
Nutrient C: 70

and a stomach of 200

Bobs current nutrients are

A:0
B:50
C:70

Bobs stomach is currently at 50

Bob gets a message saying he \'craves\' nutrient A

Bob eats an apple with the following stats

A:30
B:X
C:0
Mass:Y

if X=0 and Y=200 Bob is full and his cravings gradually stop

if x=0 and Y=300 Bob vomits

if x= 50 and y = 200 bobs A cravings stop and he is full but he gets nutrient B excess sickness

Why.. i hear u ask... ok heres the benefits

- A wide range of food is encouraged
- Different foods have different effectiveness
- Different foods are more/less effective for different players/races
- Chefs become \'nutritionists\'
- Food left lying around becomes less beneficial
- A variety of ailments are produced that an be easily cured/avoided but encourage a more diverse cooking skill

it\'s not that complicated... it\'s a great idea!!!
*hopes something like this gets implemented

I would love to cook, a little kitchen in my little country house, cooking stuff, for me and others, for my Trepors (with better food better milk :P) and for my little fluffy flying colored thingys.

Just had an idea while writing this... Animals needs to eat, so if we give them certain things, that they like (if they like, they\'ll be happier, and a happy animal is a healthy animal) and need (certain nutrients are needed to certain animals), they would have a better preformance if we buy/make food with a good quality, or a worse preformance if we buy/make lower quality nutrienteless food.

Example:
My Trepors gives the best milk in the whole Yliakum because I give them the highest quality food, full of things they need and like.
But Z? Manel feeds his Trepors with low quality food that doesn\'t have so many things the Trepors need, so his milk sucks.
