I think its great that you are actually looking for information instead of just making a guild and then figuring it all out later.  I think that you can do two things to being successful.  You can either be cliche\' do what the other guilds are doing, which you can find just by reading.  And secondly you can be origional, making a new creation.  Be aware that some people might consider your idea bad, but that doesn\'t necessarily mean it is.  Keep true to the ideas of your guild and you will be fine.. Also obviously some things are out of question, like making things that don\'t exist in PS, which you can learn by reading the PS history.  That doesn\'t mean you can\'t make things like \"dragons\" in your history.  It could tell tales of another world from whence you came, but remember such things don\'t exist in PS.

Good luck with your guild when you get it up and running - I look foreward to your ideas and to see your guild once it is done.

politics, fighting, book worming ... there are some choices you need to make, the very soil of your guild.

You need to decide what you want your guild to be.
this is a very general stereo type, and is intended to be. you need a common \"way to play\" a purpose for devoting your time to online gaming

examples:

-A fighting guild (most guilds, ones that come t mind are IT, and mirth)

a fighting guild isn\'t necisaily a group of hard core hack and slashers, but rather people who play to \'adventure\' or to gain power, they enjoy the thrill of the hunt and conquoring objectives.

-scholar\'s guild(most notably, the knowledge seekers, and perhaps my guild, the Arcane-Order)

A scholar\'s guild is one who\'s more leaned towards sitting back, (not always RP!) doing something \"out of the ordinary\". these kinds are harder to put a abel and even \"scholar\" may not be precise,

(if you can tell i\'m coming to more conclusions as i write this)

so perhaps there are two guides of guilds, ordinary, and oddity.

neither are better than the other, its just a different style of play.

oh and your prolly stuck on the idea that an \'oddity\' guild is rp only, a good idea of one thats not so strict RP would perhaps be a casino guild, or ... a crafting guild (kudos to the late bloodcaw inc. :(  )

alright with that premise done, now you decide what you want to do, the possibilities are endless. post a unique idea and see if we can give you more ideas.

my how times have changed.....

I have my ideas, and they are unique. Mine would fall closer to your\'s though. I was thinking about some sort of name including \"order\" somewhere.We\'ll come out with it in our time, let my friends, and some of my new PS companions come to some sort of consensus first.

It\'s the logistics I\'m worried about. Ideas I\'m full of. I have lots & lots of literature behind me. I know exactly the kind of members I want to attract, and I\'m not looking to red carpet to the world. Our membership will likely always be modest.

Why should I care to look down at you twice? Once is enough. Names with numbers are almost as annoying as names in caps.

There\'s not much more advice anyone can give to you, since you\'ve read the Guild Creation thread and exchanged ideas with other guild members. Time to wish you good luck, and see if you can make it to Kada\'s list.

Who is kuro5hin? And why not choose the name Coal Bourne, if nemesis was already taken? Two questions I don\'t need answered. Since I hardly care.

I don\'t think it has been such a crime not reading your sig. Impatience is hardly a good trait in a leader. Unless you\'re looking for a guild with a good amount of enemies. If so, calling them donkeys isn\'t the best tatic either; they might not take you seriously. Aha, and that is unless you want to have a guild who has many enemies and is not taken seriously.

Anyway, let\'s avoid going into further off-topicness. I have no quarrels with you or your soon-to-be guild, well, not yet. It\'s possible you might want to avenge your numbery name or attempt at making me look you up, in the future. ^^

Seems like I just caught you on an off day. Np your apology is accepted.

ps. it\'s gonna be rough ride until you get my sense of humor down. Hint: either a snappy Eddy Murphy quote, or a line from Monty Python was what was called for... You\'ll see I\'m carefull in my choice of words.

Well, not the reply I was waiting for, but harmless enough.

Good luck with your guild.
