Name: Nekhash

Appearance:  Angry looking monster with 2 small red eyes, 2 long fangs coming from lower jaw and many more smaller teeth inside the mouth, invisible at first sight.  Monster is hairy, lot of fur everywhere.  On the face you can see red glowing eyes, and 2 fangs.  Everything else is covered with fur.  Monster\'s colors are dark brown and black.  the fur is dark brown, although since the monster is covered in dirt, mud, and doesn\'t keep itself clean, the fur is different shades of dark brown, brown and occasional light brown.  It\'s lips, hands are black.  The monster looks small because it\'s back is arched and always sits and its muscular.  It\'s 2 arms are close to his chest (like rabbit), although nothing innocent about them.  The hands resembes a humanoid hand with a thumb, has 3 long fingers on each hand(including thumb).  The monster can grow long nails at will(yeah like wolvorine ) on any finger.  The nail can grow fast or slow, doesn\'t matter, one at a time, all at once, doesn\'t matter, monsters choise.
It\'s back is arched, it\'s legs are like cats legs (feline).  Although the monster most of the time prefers sitting in upward position, when it walks, he uses his hands and legs like a feline creature.

Skill level: intermediate to expert.

Combat style:  The monster is fast, no sense to run from it, however while you run it cannot attack you because it\'s not in it\'s combat position.  The monster likes to ambush and attacks players either out of anger or for food.  It\'s normal and dangerous attack is with nails.  Nails can grow very long and attack from far (well not that far, but..), however to use nails, the monster has to be in sitting/standing position, not in walking position.  So whenever you move, monster is forced to move as well and regrow nails.  Monster can jump, but rarely does so.  Jumping means very quick death for you because when landing on you, monster quickly grows nails that pierce you and hold on to you, then the monster uses it\'s fangs and small teeth to bite your throat.  This way you have chance to bleed to death or if you are on low health, it\'s probably death.  Although he rarely jumps, (don\'t know why, I guess its hard for it), if you can predict it jumping you can block it easily by switching to full defense mode.  This way your shield (or whatever) gets hit by monster and its nails cannot pierce it.  Other than that, like I already said, its nails are main attack method and are grown when its not moving, so if monster needs to change it\'s location for any reason, it\'s nails are down and good time to attack, etc.
It\'s nails can do all sorts of attacks and techniques to pierce or slash you.

History:
The name was given based on the sounds the monster makes.  \'nekhash\'  (try sounding arabic or something, prolongating \'sh\' part)  Although monster doesn\'t actually say that, people thought that this name is closest to what it sounds.  Few lived to tell the tale of the monster\'s appearance or whereabouts.  They live in dark areas like forests, caves, dungeons.  People learned that when an area suddenly becomes uninhabited with any life, Nekhash is probably nearby.  They are parasites and do not just kill for food, they kill for the fact that they cannot stand any life near them.  They are omnivorous, eat plants, meat, fish, etc.  They live one by one, not in groups.  How they reproduced is unknown to the people.

Ok, that\'s it, hope you like it.

Krans ancestor, looks quite much like kran, but cant speak and is even more bigger and heavier than kran and has minimal intelligence compared to normal races, would live in groups of 3 or 4 hranks, 1 leader, 2 females, 1 worker and on some rare occasion 1 shaman kind of hrank, they live on very harsh places like ice caverns and deserts, they can be in groups of 8 or 9 in extreme conditions where there is almost no food, on those groups hierarchy would go 1 leader, 4 females, 2 workers, 1 shaman and food guard and on these societys leader would have all power over anything except food

Here\'s a natural way to train Creatures.

What if gobbles, rats, and existing creatures were able to gain expereince?

Now you have boss mob creatures running around that were created naturally from the game.

And it gives mercenaries a job to hunt a troublesome creature.

Newbies will always get killed... which creates a natural progression for toughening an area naturally.

This stems more onto a reason for training, instead of PKing.  especially if the gobbles skins were a souce of leather for armor making.

A creature could naturally gain drop items that way, and bandits, rogues, and otherwise which already appear equipable could be naturally popluated in varying levels of toughness by regular game play.

Focusing on the monster population makes more work... and detracts from the core RPG issues, such as item creation, economy, and quests...

There\'s already consumers, gobbles, rogues, bandits, trepors, tefusangs, the dealth realm gate keeper, 12 races in the game, clackers, rats, and probably the odd one I haven\'t unconcered yet.

Monsters should serve a purpose aside from aimlessly dropping goods.  When you progress past the basics, hunting becomes a sport/hobby to pass time, and our jobs, life, and acting out our players consumes most our lives.

We\'re not thinking smart enough.  We all have good ideas but how can the game be made better with what we have, to limit additional coding for the Developers, all these creatures take 3d models, and for the most part the PS Team, just doesn\'t have the resources.

------------------------------------------------------

** EDITTED OUT A BLOCK **

I editted this out looking for somewhere else to post it...

Prosistions for creatures.

Gobbles could give up leather hides.
teeth, eyes, etc, used for alchemy.

Rats
give up hides.
eyes, could be used as a basic regeant for alchemy.

Consumers
give up hides for items such as scale mail
antennae, etc for alchemy.

Trepors
give up their stingers
I think you get the idea.

Each should give up cuts of meat etc, afterall cooking is going to going by means of health recovery, or something I assume, that players may be required to eat.

Just my two cents... but maybe we need to all figure out what potions and such are feasible, and begin planning the purpose to a creature in the game.

Its fina and all to generate gobs of lists of things... but what purpose are they? And how will they enhance the PS RPG experience?

After looking through the PS Team, Darkmoon appears to be the sole provider... In fairness, I\'m understanding completely where Moogie has been coming from in other posts...

Peace all...

(Continuing the Vandel\'s idea about loot stuff)
_We could loot from Clackers their er... orange thingy (don\'t know how to say in english doesn\'t come in the dictionary) and could be used as a shield, the \"Clacker Shield\"
_Also Rogues, Thugs, Bandits and all those enemies should drop the weapon they are using... so give more \"Realism\" to the game, \'coz if you kill a guy with a sword you\'re able to steal it from him.

Looting items, in the sense of weapons and such wasn\'t really what I was aiming for.  People would end up with way too much too easily if every rogue dropped his weapons.  What I\'m suggesting, is that modifications be made to the existing monsters so that items could be harvested for use with the alchemy, chemistry, potion making type skills, or as regeants for spells.

Just to expand a bit on the moster ideas, to try and give the creation of such new creatures a purpose, instead of blurting out a bunch of random creatures.

Maybe this should be started in a regeants, potions and combinations thread.  I\'ll go start it... no sense in bogging this one down...

the Korrigans (Korils)

the Korrigans (Korils)

The Korils, a kind of Korrigans, are legendary monsters...

They like to dance having a party during the whole night and their song is something like \"Monday Tuesday Wednesday ...\" but they dont say anything after Friday !

If you continue their song they will force you to dance with them until your death...

It\'s a religious issue (saturday is know as a christians day and the Christianism is felt like their ennemy). It\'s a little too much easy to sum up their story like that (I advice you to search on the web for more details)

I would like to see monsters like them : Monsters that force you to dance until you die... It would be amusing... as long as its virtual...

Legends are amazing source of imagination !

Do you wanna see a Korrigan ?

EDIT : hey ! is it an older thread for \"monster\" search?
