Gracecamel... I would recommend having your husband read this thread. For example: If he is a PROGRAMMER and is looking for LOG FILES when he needs to be looking for a file OUTSIDE of your installed directory which has a file like "bamko.

" (might be .txt, not sure) (with your char name) and he is searching "log" or for programming log files, he will NEVER find it.
I know when many people provide help, it is hard to pass on all the relevant info, so maybe have him read this?
I do not use Linux, but... Planeshift has 2 locations, one for the program (where it installed it) and another for chat logs, screenshots and books you can upload (save as text file and upload ingame)
So, go ingame and save a screenshot INGAME (not using print screen, but the comand "/screenshot" then carefully write down the filename. have him search for that.
Then you have found your screenshot folder, nice to know anyways. Go up one level, and you will see a folder for screenshots, one for books and one for chat. Open the chat folder and look for your characters name.
I would also put a shortcut of this location on your desktop, so next time you can find it easier.
I imagine this would be the same kind of set up, regardless of OS. Hope that helps.
