Excuse me if I sound a little agressive when I ask this, I don\'t mean to at all, but are you serious that you don\'t know what a graphics card is? Have you never heard of Voodoo, NVidia, GeForce...? I don\'t believe you.

Well, if you\'re serious, then you need to be brought up to date pronto! A graphics card is a hardware component for your PC which handles heavy graphics and generally most of what is drawn on your screen unless they are specifically software-rendered. (Software rendering is slower as it uses more of your system resources such as RAM memory to compensate. The OpenGL mode of Planeshift forces Hardware acceleration, which is faster, smoother and less of a drag on your system. Also it handles graphics which require certain aspects of the high technology that the graphics card is made to handle- proper, reflective, shiny water, for example.)
All PCs come with a graphics card, unless yours is like +10 years old. In which case, I\'m not suprised PS doesn\'t work for you!

The easiest way to tell which make and model graphics card you have is by searching for information about it in your computer\'s documentation. You can also go to Control Panel > System > Device Manager and look in the \"Sound, Video and Game Controllers\" list. If you have a graphics card and it is installed, it\'s name and model will be listed here.
Seriously, if you don\'t have a graphics card, I doubt you can play Planeshift at all. If you do, find out it\'s make/model and download the latest drivers you can find for it on the Internet. Check the manufacturer\'s website first for this.
Also, I\'d like to ask something in relation to your problem. Are you not able to run the game in both software and OpenGL modes?
*Hopes she was helpful* Awaiting your reply.
