Toll Tax and geographical scarcity of goods
« on: August 25, 2004, 05:07:33 am »
Okay first part. Toll Taxing, I believe cities should have toll taxes. To get rid of a toll tax from a certain city you\'ll have to complete a quest. Just like in spoonscape.

Second Part. Okay each geographical location should have a scarcity in certain types of goods that will allow a better use of \"traders\" someone who trades things for money or for rare items that trade and so on...
For example if you have a city in a desert water and fruits/vegetables should be rare therefore more expensive than in a city in a jungle. But the desert city would have more mining, where as maybe the jungle is not as minable as the desert.

Cold areas would have more monster/animal furs while a city would have more synth textiles. So the animal furs would sell well in a city where as the synth textiles would sell a bit better in the cold area. etc...

And so on, vice versa...
My name is NOT pronounced, \"Kway-per,\" it\'s pronounced \"Kye-per.\"

Those are both great ideas Kuiper, I have nothing against them whatsoever.  Umm, I don\'t even have anything to add. Good ideas.

It\'s always fun to be a trader.
I\'m not racist, I hate everyone equally.

Is there any way we could enhance this idea by taking the toll money and putting it to use. Perhaps when people pay taxs or and stuff on anything the money should go to making the city bigger or having certain things or more merchant NPCs enter the town. The more money it collects the bigger and better the city gets, the less it collects the more crappie it becomes...kinda like a power battle ^^ We the people would determine which cities become prosperous and which fall..each city could have different unique perks when the city is rich and losses when it isnt in good shape!

That would be sweet, but I have no idea how the devs could implement that to happen automatically. Each city has its own treasury and builds its own buildings. Eh, sounds a little too hard.

maybe..you can do it that there are like a certain amount of guilds connected to a city.  And then they would get the money.

Maybe like that they could even pay ingame money to the DEv\'s to get there city expanded or something..dont know for what use but.. XD
