Stupid Things You Beleived as a Kid
« on: September 01, 2004, 04:30:53 am »
Well, this thread is to share the stupid things you beleived as a kid. For me, I used to beleive in a monster called BoBo, and it lived in a wall. My brother convinced me it was true.
Another thing I beleived was that if I kept my hands in the Vulcan greeting position (Live long and prosper), I would turn into a Ninja Turtle (again, my bro told me this. and I was a big fan.)
Go ahead, laugh all you want at me.
On a side note, the fore mentioned brother thought star fleet and the federation and the technology from star trek were al real. He told our mom that he\'s gonna be a Starfleet officer when he grows up.

Bobo is indeed a monster. He eats children who act up. Haven\'t you ever been ingame?

I have no idea what I thought as a kid. I should probably ask my parents. They\'re probably full to the brim with embarressing stories that they can\'t help but share with relatives.

is bobo still around? I haven\'t been ingame for a while.

I\'m op at #planeshift-love, babe ;)

Santa was real along with the easter bunny, and don\'t forget the tooth fairy ^^

USA was the only one involved in WW2 (You can thank the movie industry for that)

Candy Man was real (Never looked in the mirror by myself)

Vegetables are good for you

All the things you mention exist and can be rationally explained. :)

The only thing that wasn\'t momentary that i rememember was my paranoia - for a long while I slept with the lights on, thinking someone will kill me or a similar accident by a robber. And spiders were even more evil in those days...;)

the red button in cars with the triangle shape my dad convinced me that was an eject button that whould send me flying out the car :P

also on the car he had the radio can be operatied by the steering wheel of the dashboard. he whould press the volume up or down on the steering wheel and wave his finger over the volume button and clame that he had magic powers :|

so i really didn\'t have anything :S i\'m really weird.

Q: How many Planeshifters does it take to expalin a simple concept to a newb?
A: Six. Five to argue on who\'s explanation is right, and Moogie to lock the thread.

That we lived in a peaceful world.... that stopped after I watched the news for the first time.

And that there was a guy with green eyes that shot at you with poison darts which made you go insane following me everywhere I went :/ Thank TinTin for that :D (It\'s a cartoon for those who don\'t know)

Well, er, that brings an awfully disturbing picture into my mind... Gee, thanks for totally destroying my Mirth! :(

Another thing I used to believe was that there was a tunnel somewhere under our house that led to France...  Weird, eh?  :D

Ok, ok, I really need to preface this with the statement that I suffered from a mental breakdown at twelve and did not recover untill I was about nineteen. So the following is from that period.
  • Thought that I could fly/levitate while meditating.
  • Thought that I was randomly changing between dimentions and that my memorys from the last dimention only remained for about 10 minuets (that explained why things were never quite as I remembered.)
  • Actually remember trying to summon a fireball when in a fist fight.
  • Thought that I could metamorphosize into a Dragon.
If you think I am crazy I will refer you to the BEGINING of the post...I was.
I was never tought to beleave in the Easter bunny, Santa, etc. My folks said that they would not encourage me beleiving in stuff that was not real.
