I think that open source games can make a difference in the gaming community.  It will be interesting to see how it develops.

People loose interest fast they say... I know some people in PS that have been here for years... I myself was here for over a year now.

Au contraire, you\'re *very* special, as are most people who\'ve been exposed to that much deadly forum radiation.

It is interesting the the article comments on the applicability of the open-source model to \"iterative\" development, where you can have a working product but then continue to add features, which is what we\'re seeing.  In addition, by limiting access to the content before release, Planeshift functions a little closer to the model of a commercial developer so that there can be some \"surprise\" for everyone involved.
