Time

I would like to see a whole different time system in PS, different, though parallel to ours. Something along these lines...

1) Days would be made up of 20 hours, with 100 min. in an hour. Days would begin with sunrise, instead of the middle of the night like in RL. You might say, how can time be different? Well, Yliakum is on a different planet than earth, and every planet has different lengths of days and years, based on their orbit and spin. The numbers are just easier and more metric-liike than our system of 24 hours and 60 min. It is pretty dumb don\'t you think? Also, why do days begin when it has been dark our for hours? Why don\'t days begin with sunrise?

2) The actual time in-game compared to real life tyme should be different. I think for every day IRL, there should be only, say 4 in-game days. Currently, there are probably 100. This means that nights would last for hours (RL), which would improve the roleplaying aspect. Right now, we only have to wait a few min. for the night to end.

3) Months and years should be kept syncronized with RL time to make dating things, such as the forming of a guild, easier.

Prolonged nights for RP... Yeah, seems pretty good. Although, since I don\'t know how the world will look at cb during the night I can\'t really tell how good it will be. A game that is dark for hours can be significantly annoying. Unless we had torches. And pitchforks. And some bad-looking monster/person to hunt. Hmm, roleplay =D
Anyway, maybe not something too long. Perhaps two RL hours for a full day cicle? So one hour would be night and the other would be day. I like the idea of the day beginning with sunrise, but that would demand the planet to be british (aka: right on time lol :)). Seems interesting, I like games where time is worked properly, gives a deeper gaming experience.

Ugh, we had like a ten pg talk on how the time in ps should be like a month or two ago.  It turned out that everyone had a different opinion on how the time should be.  Anyways I think it should be 2 hours day 2 hours night.

It is easier to hate than it is to love.

hm....

interesting....

Look, when you have real life (24 hours aday, 60 min is a hour) some will ALWAYS play in night and some ALWAYS in daylight, that sucks. However it\'s stupid too when days are over in 2 minutes or something. When you have long evenings and nights its cool to hang around in pubs :P I never thought about days that take more time than the real time in real life.

I think it would be cool to have 24 hours day, and 24 hours night. I mean, the first day it will be day, the second day it will be night, the third day it\'s day again etc.

So you like in-game days longer than real life days? I don\'t really, but a few hours (RL) for a night, and a few hours for a day sounds good to me.

I agree with Icefalcon the days and nights should be like RL and they most definetly should not be longer...

I think they should be shorter (4-6 hours per halfcycle), but this indeed has been discussed on another thread already.
