I haven\'t messed with MB for ages but I can guarantee I\'ll lag to an extent.

Hardware aside (I have a reasonably monster system) I live in the UK.

It appears (am I right?) that fragnetics is in Singapore which is the best part of 6800 miles away.

My data connection is above-average cable (almost direct to the peering) as such, this reduces the ammount of routing I go through.

Traceroute takes 22 hops to reach fragnetics and my average ping is circa 309ms (mainly hampered by the speed of an electrical pulse / the speed of light in fibre).

My averages:
Code: [Select]
--- 203.81.47.74 ping statistics ---
37 packets transmitted, 36 received, 2% packet loss, time 36031ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 280.528/308.977/383.257/22.191 ms, pipe 2

So I\'d hope the only thing to cause me lag when CB is out is physical distance ;)

I ran MB on ...

AMD Althon 1.2 GHZ
256 MB RAM
ASUS V8200 Geforce3 64MB
Cable

and

(laptop)
Intel Celeron 2.0 GHZ
256MB RAM
Shared Memory Gfx
Cable

The interessting thing was that running MB on the Celeron was much smoother than on the Athlon. This led me to the conclusion that MB is using too much cpu power instead of gpu. I am no expert though.
Ow and I lagged with both ;)

AMD Athlon 2400+
768MB DDR 266
Gforce XFX 5600 128mb
1.5mbit line with 256upload

800x600 res open GL

I get an average of 113 FPS using a 5 minute benchmark with FRAPS whilst running around the town, Max fps 511 looking at wall in enterance to temple :P

I think that the lag has relatively nothing to do with system performance, from my experiences with it, it seems to be caused be someone tearing the fabric of the world by glitching through a wall/object.  Just depends how long they get stuck there i think, but fps drops to 0 during this time :(
