Heh. This made me think - I wonder how many guilds have made similar claims of immortality in the past? How many are making equally foolish claims now?

The community forms guilds too easily and forgets them in the same fashion. I have no idea if the guild I serve will be around in a year - of course I hope it will, but who knows.

Incidenally, I think we\'re all far too cynical. Someone starts a new guild or has a new idea and the thread is immediately filled with \"royalty\" expressing their disdain at anything they did not personally sanction. You know who you are. Your inability to stop complaining in the forums and lack of prescence in the game are directly responsible for the realm being handed over to powerlevellers. I see nothing but whining in these forums. And you are never to be seen ingame.

(Just my 2 tria, based on a rogue thought I had regarding cmhitmans now tragically ironic post.)

[OOC] Well Caitiff, I havent seen you around much, but from the looks of it you\'re not a bad guy. I would gladly wish you luck with your guild, but rules are rules. And from what I can tell you are hiring yourselves out as assasins, a field already taken by TMG. [/OOC]

[IC]

By hiring out your men as trained killers, you are infringing on the territory of The Mercenary Guild. Any atemp to do so will be met with violence.

From The Mercenary Guild Charter:
Quote

# We will protect our own interests. Anyone who interferes with our aims or goals will be dealt with. Put simply, someone taking potential customers is biting into potential profit. As such competitor mercenaries/defenders are treated as enemies.
# The aim of the guild is wealth. We are a business fraternity; we seek to make the mercenary market as profitable as possible, and as consumer friendly as we can.

From where you are now, you can choose to take one of three paths.
1. Disband the guild.
2. Join with us. Together we shall be more powerful.
3. Write a will. For you shall die.

May your decision be wise.

~Klyaksa, The Mercenary Guild council.

[/IC]

[OOC] P.S. Doesn\'t Icefalcon usualy take care of these things?[/OOC]

Q: How many Planeshifters does it take to expalin a simple concept to a newb?
A: Six. Five to argue on who\'s explanation is right, and Moogie to lock the thread.

I agree with part of what you say. I agree that more of the people here should go ingame more often.

As for the trial by fire, however. I\'m quite fond of it. It\'s harsh, but effective.

RussionVodka: I don\'t think you have to fear much from a guild that died over two years ago.
Ayshe: I completely agree with you

You\'re correct. I will always live in the shadow of the \"Hitman legacy\" that everyone remembers so well.  ;)

Though I have no illusions that I wouldn\'t totally bomb as a guild leader, expecting things from my members and all that.

I\'ve missed the arguments...

Seeings how we\'re talking about dead guilds, is there any guild left from the begining? So many come and go it\'s hard to keep track anymore. There are prob more guilds than players by now. Sad, really.

Oh well...I say this though, The Sheeple Foundation shall stand in perpetuity! We will never falter! (unless we\'re all killed of course)

Depends on what you mean by the beginning.

Before CB?  Definately.  Before MB or AB?  Kinda, but inactive.  I\'m not actually sure if there are any still from before AB, if any it would be DE.

I\'d have to stay the longest standing \"thing\" in Planeshift (other then the main site) would have to be Kada\'s Tavern...and then The BISM. :baby:

Slagle remembers going through the old forums and seeing a guild named like this as one of the first guilds on the forum site

3 years old and definitely dead.

Guild forum isn\'t for chitchatting about old days, guys. You should know that.
