Update Error
« on: September 19, 2004, 11:33:58 am »
Hi all. I\'m new and need help with updating.
It ran as normal until about 40% total
done. Then it said WARNING: your installation
may have been inconsistant. Please retry and
if it fails again report problem.
So I tried again, but no success.
Can anyone please help.

The updater does this? Never heard of it before, but I can make a pretty good guess as to the problem. Download the new run_me_first.bat file from the Technical Help section and use it with your 5 .part files again. It will check each file for corruptions and alert you. Any file you have which is corrupt, you will need to redownload it, and then reinstall PlaneShift with your new setup file.

It\'s impossible to install PS if one of the five parts are bugged. It has an automatic md5 check on itself when you open setup file. So the only thing which can be wrong is that the installation missed something, somewhere. Try uninstalling PS and then reinstalling it. That seems to be the only logical solution to the problem.
