Mercenary Guild Embassy (GUILD LEADERS READ!)

This is the embassy of the Mercenary Guild. Here you will be able to discus inter-guild matters.

This works like a \"Members Only\" section, the only people able to enter being high ranking Mercenaries, and \"Diplomats\" from other guilds. To make secret private discussions possible, you will only be able to enter sections that concern your guild.

The way you become a Diplomat, is if you are a leader, or are appointed by the leader of another guild. To be confirmed, the leader of the guild would have to PM a mod or post in the Main Hall, and post it on their guild forums (so we know that they are not an imposter. (If they want they can MP us to sign up on their forums and than PM us there.))

This Diplomacy section is good for settling inter-guild arguments, and just discussing topics in secret.

If you are a leader of another guild, please stop by our forums and complete what is stated above. If you are not a leader, please inform the those that are in command in your guild.

[To the mods] I know that there already is a Merc. Guild thread on these forums, but please don\'t take this one as a spam. The reason i created this new thread is to atract the attention of guild learers who otherwise would not stop by and check the previous thread. [/To the mods]

A: Six. Five to argue on who\'s explanation is right, and Moogie to lock the thread.

If your forums arn\'t done, you just have to prove to use that you are leader of the guild. The reason we have that rule is to prevent some \"n00b\" from going on and saying \"Hey, im so-and-so, let me in!\" And about the Mercs being able to see all the threads, thats the point of it. It is called the Merc Embassy so that other guilds would be able to have secret conversations with us withought the need to PM every chamion. Think of it as a PM for the masses.

Do you really think its a good idea allowing conversations between Leader\'s upon a forum? Why not do it on a IM? Especially if you plan to have it be secret and all..

So...a form of government. In a loosely set way, it is considered a form of a government. You can deny it all the way but its fundamental ideals seem closely based to the ideals of the UN.

But hey I\'m for it!

I think we should have a forum for all guild leaders where everyone (leaders) can read every topic. Not just two people.

No, you dont understand. This is ment to discus things with the Merc. Guild In private. And withought the need to IM or PM every Champion. It has nothing to do with government other than that its diplomacy.

hmm, but wouldn\'t that give the mercs a huge advantage over the other guilds?
The mercs would know everything and the rest of us would be left in the dark.  And good guilds don\'t like being in the dark, as they prefer the light XD ;)
The end doesn\'t justify the means :)

*yawn* It\'s just a *MERC* *DIPLOMACY* section, not a gathering ground for all the leaders and certainly not a confession room.

So what happens if someone hires you, gives you potentially dangerous secrets such as defensive line formation, then their enemy pays you more, and you tell them?  Rather, would you tell them?

I thought of that posibility, and this is how it plays out.

1. Enemy pays us forthe secrets.
2. Enemy wins battle.
3. Those who hire us will never do it again, seeing as we lost.
4. Next time someone wants to hire us agains that enemy, all they have to do is show that we sold our secrets.
5. We loose all business.

So, it is better for us to play fair.
