CB name transfer
« on: September 21, 2004, 11:26:28 pm »
Id like to know if were going to transfer our stuff to CB (if you know yet)
Also, my charecter in CB is going to have a different name from MB so will I still be able to move the stuff (if we do)
Finally, Will I be able to reserve the new name even though I dont use it right now?
Thanks for your help

AFAIK things will probably not be transferred due to the hacking of the game causing 1000\'s of xtals to be given out everywhere, unless they have a backup of before that.

If stuff does get transferred, then your account name(not your characters name) will be the same as your mb characters name when you reserve. (Not that sure about this, but from what I\'ve seen of the script, that\'s how it works roughly.)

Best to wait for a dev to say, but even they don\'t seem to really know yet.

4 to be exact.

No, you won\'t be able to reserve a non-existant name.

8o   I didn\'t get no 1000\'s of crystals.  I\'ve painstakingly hunted for every one of mine...except for crystal drops at parties, oh, and a few from trivia contests.   ;)

Anyways, why should I have to pay the price due to the mischief of a few??   ;(

It would be better to start fresh, instead of people already able to buy everything there is.

Oh sorry about that I just re-read my post and it was kinda unclear what side I was on. I do not think we should transfer our stuff from MB.

I disagree completely with the previous posts!  It is very unfair to the rest of the community who have spent over a year dilligently roleplaying and hunting for crystals to short change them by NOT transferring their crystals over to CB.  The guilds and players that have established themselves as very loyal and faithful to PS SHOULD NOT be punished because of the actions of 1 or 2 players banned from the community.

To not reward the players by letting them start with some hard-earned and well-deserved tria in CB is unacceptable.  I hope there are others who agree with my view of this and I hope the devs looking at this topic will consider the transfer very seriously.

Punished?

You are aware of that having such script would making it another assert to test, and another place where things can go wrong

And there is NOTHING saying anywhere that you will keep your old stuff in any new release. Just live with it

But it may also be that we will transfer crystals :)
Who knows

it would be nice just to give the old guys some recognition......rare item or look. Just something that is useless but still has that \"im better than you\" feel.

but make the cut off of oldbies July 2003 *giggles*

Though I suppose the friends ive met are good enough......but I dont think I would showcase them like a trophy =)

great idea lol right on my month i agree having a slight advatage would be better because a lot of people who are older to the game are wiser as well and could help newbies do stuff and starting with stuff would show a rank of importance as loyal members

A lot of people who are older to the game just don\'t hang around at all.  A lot of people who are older to the game aren\'t wise.  A lot of people who are older to the game would be angry at any sort of cut-off date.  As much as I\'d like recognition, I must point out these problems.  So who do you give stuff to, the famous people?  What about the people who are just as dedicated but less known?

I believe that was sarcasm, but it can\'t hurt to restate:

Powerleveling is bad. The purpose of this game is not to level.

And please, no cut off date. however, I think that crystals should be transferred, albeit at an insane exchange rate (emmy per tria perhaps?). I think that the developers could write a little mysql script to find people with more than 2000 net worth (don\'t disclose the threshold, then people will just distribute their crystals...) and see if there are any oddities such as a player of which very little is known, and has only been around for a short time having zillions of crystals.
