« on: September 26, 2004, 11:09:51 pm »
I wish to start a guild we will stand for the preservation of honor & create quests, we will employ all types ...but you must deem yourself worthy! i am taking applications but then you will be tested! I am a weapon smithing assasin who will make sure to help keep my troops well equipt i am a fair & just leader...but you only have to fallow me as far as you want i will go on no matter if anyone comes along & will do my best to keep my guild members well. that is my mission :D & we will strive to keep things interesting

thank you for the informative posts but i understand this. i have only just started only 4 members as of yet & i am in the prosses of making a web site which will be posted when it is ready the first post was only a mision statement to outline the general idea of my guild...& btw i realy cant spell worth crap so i appolagize. i have began seting the ranks so far it goes

9) blue-silver knight
8) black knight
7) midnight blue knight
6) turquoise knight
5) green knight
4) great knight
3) berzerker
2) mage knight
1) squier

the colored knight\'s are single positions they are my advisors. there rest of the positions are mostly based on skill type\'s squier is the base level whitch you must go through befor you receve your title & great knight is for berzerkes & mage knight\'s that prove them selves worthy... advisors are selected by personality & commitment

once CB begins we will do much greater quests. i am an adventurer at heart & enjoy the thrill of adventure(especialy when great items& legendary beastes are involved) so i will provide information on them to all guild members(& please those in the guild dont shout so much on the quests & games you set up thats what the guild chat is for) we will strive to join in great battles,& learn all aspects of the game.(i share information freely among members)  i will update more when i can think of more to post i know it\'s not compleat

Hey spiffy (can I call you spiffy?) gratz on your new guild and good luck :)
But, thre are a few things missing.
1) a goal. what are you making this guild for? what are you fighting for?
2) a story. Where did you come from?
3) a website. all ps guilds need to have one
4) ranks. make names for the ranks and tell us what each rank does and stuff.
5) If you want to start a guild try to sound a little more professional in you threads. make sure you have correct spelling and dont put any smilys like :P =) >.> :) ect

Oh and you should have forums for your guild members

Good Luck! :)

Basically, you look like you might put a good amount of effort into your guild.  Many, many previous guilds have been started this way and failed.  It is my advice to you that you put in as much as possible, in order to receive as much as possible.

My suggestion is that either now, or when you get a few members to brainstorm with you, you come up with everything you need to look proffessional.

A good example thread for how a proper guild thread should look like is this:

edit: Ah, yes, and if you want help with something, PM me.

The key to manipulative bargaining is to ask for something twice as big as what you want, then smile and nod when you are talked down to your original wish. You are still young, my apprentice, and have much to learn in the ways of the force. -UtM

A better idea would be to join an existing guild, save yourself the trouble of failing. As Effixi said, you are missing pretty much everything that defines a guild. But nobody is stopping you from trying, but it will take hard work. Believe me, it will. If you are not up to it, join an existing guild.

I agree, tell me why do you have that name, The Knights of the Empire? If you decide to continue you will need a long, well written, inventive, intresting and believable story as to why you chose that name which probably ends with something like \'And thus, the last embers of the burning fire that was the empire, scattered across the realm and I, the Emporers most loyal guard shall bring again the Empire and bring the Emporer to power once again! Sonno-Joi!

Of course you need to explain the history of the empire, the emporer, why the empire fell, where the emporer is ( because your goal is to get him back on the throne ) how you are going to do it blah blah blah...

Oh and Sonno-Joi is the motto, life and soul of the ronin, the rogue samurai who wanted to get the emporer back on the throne after his power was completely taken away by the Shogun, Toranaga.

The empire was a boy\'s dream. He grew & held on to that dream. He asspired to be the vision he had in his mind, but he could only become so much. What he became wasn\'t enough to hold his empire together, & as his dream crumbled befor him so did his mind; but he was not a foolish man. The emperor had anticipated the posibility of such event\'s, for he knew of his short comings. We were set up to preserve his ideal\'s, not his empire. The emperor tryed to create a world based on the freedom to have fun, because he belived this was the essence of life. He saw, though that people where corrupted by such meening less thing\'s and began his crusade against civilization...& that is what we are fighting to prevent :D i hope you understand now what we stand for Caed

Monketh-  lol Good job on praising your own skills ^^

IceFalcon- If he wants to give it a go why should anyone tell him not to?

Spiff build up your image, backround..speak out with your character. Don\'t be afraid to state what is on your mind, even if it differs from other peoples perspectives. Take your time in creating all this, make it how YOU want it and how YOUR guild is suppose to be..and hopefully in the end your guilds dream becomes reality. Good luck
