Goodluck with the guild, and I agree with the comments about originality. Your name, is one of Gandalf\'s aliases, and you were going to call the guild the white hand? I had to stop myself from groaning when I saw the words Sword Coast... Black Isle would not like you using that methinks.
You have your work cut out for you buddy.
As for a name, go with something original, yet meaningful. If all else fails, put something mundane in another language, it works for most guilds... heh.
Personally I\'d focus around the word creation, or construction and make sure it sounds fantasy oriented.

Armeen, you don\'t have a hard job, well not that hard. That may be because you have the best guild in the world, the most eccentric too... how many other guilds hold two titles... ooh perverted... there\'s THREE titles in one guild. You gotta\' love us right?

Once more goodluck... I\'ll see you in CB.

PS. If your guild fails, join The Community.

Points against waiting to create or join a guild:
1.You can meet new friends now, having a guild helps hold onto them.
2.A guild can be a nice place where everybody knows who you are and vice-versa, whereas you may be relatively unknown in the community-at-large.
3.A guild can be refined bureaucratically in the calm before the storm, and prepared for the storm.

Points against waiting to say \"You can mess with Texas, but don\'t mess with us!\":
1.You know who your enemies are, if they\'re going to threaten you, threaten them.
2.Studying of your enemy\'s practices and policies better prepares you for \"the storm\".
3.You can monitor them more effectively.
4.Creates the same tension and stress with those crazy monkeys as they did with you!
5.Why not?  A little rivalry isn\'t too bad.
The key to manipulative bargaining is to ask for something twice as big as what you want, then smile and nod when you are talked down to your original wish. You are still young, my apprentice, and have much to learn in the ways of the force. -UtM

If you\'re still looking for ideas, I\'ve got a good idea for a Druid\'s Guild if you\'re interested.

Q: How many Planeshifters does it take to expalin a simple concept to a newb?
A: Six. Five to argue on who\'s explanation is right, and Moogie to lock the thread.

I say the builder\'s guild idea does\'t sound too bad. Bloodclaw are nice but it\'s never wrong with some concurrence to push down the prices a little. :P

Come up with a name that is related to the guild idea in a way like \"The Wandering Hammer\" or the \"Helping Hand\" or something...just dont take an already existing name ;)

Can\'t wait to hear more expert advice from you

yeah, I guess if we had the monopoly of building it wouldn\'t prove us good would it? :P
Well, good luck Mithrendil, maybe we can ally or something when your guild is more humm... founded :P If you give up, always consider joining us ;)

Hey look at you, and i\'m the one getting warnings you act as a 10 year old,
This about the guild look how much players is posting
.....1...2...3..4...ok a cuple of hundred, ok but if you would look on the plain shift site that there are registerd
242434, yes 242434 eaven when every user of the forum had 3 acounts, there would still be many many others.
So what i mean to tell that there will be more players later in the game, that there are hier,
and that brings us to the point to admit that it is easyer to make a guild when you are really playing the game, and not \'\'playing the game\'\'
Ok thats what i mean to tell you guys

So you say we should wait until the game is truly  released before we make our guilds?

I see why you would say that but which would you rather join being a newbie, a guild ull of newbies or a guild full of people who have been with the game for a while?

Besides, best grab the few original ideas while they are there, nobody would join a cabal clone yet many new players would join the cabal.

EDIT:  W00t, go redmonk!

I second that... Go Redmonk  :D

Seeing as he hasn\'t posted back yet, I think its yet another day-long guild idea. Oh, well. I think new non-combat guilds would be great. Davis\' Lumberjack Guild never went through... such a shame.

Lumberjack guild, that sounds interesting, but they\'d have to wait until woodcutting was implemented, likewise with the builders.

My advice Mithrendil, pick a deity, and name your guild for that deity. The logic behind this is that they create things, as will your guild.

eg. Talads shining hammer, The Planing Tool of Lanx, (even make up a deity) Creators of Fihra. You could even go with a race, The Kran\'s Nail?

Or as stated previously, if your idea crumbles, join The Community. There\'s a link in my signature.
