Guild Ideas

Lastly, quite a few guilds appeared with similar ideas and goals. So, I decide to make a top, where people can state something new for discussion. I\'ll start with idea myself.

      Global Merchant Corporation
Purpose: To set a global control over the trade.
Description: Guild will consist of several dozens of organizations united in one guild, that will set a huge trading net in the game-world, the corporation will include the following hierarchy
 
   9.Director - Basically controlls the the political and economical aspects of the Corp. Presides over the Core, changes can\'t be made without his approval.
 
   8.Core - 5-7 people that always think of ways how to improve the corp. and new econmical opportunities, make changes inside the guild. In order to a rule or an economic change to take place must be approved by the Core.
   
   7.1 Parlament - Leaders of enterprises inside the corp. Every month, they can vote for 2 people to go to Core for a month. Can send voted ideas to the Core, for later examination. Consists of 30 people from largest enterprises.
   7.2 Royal Guard - Skilled warrior payed to be the strongest. Protects the Director, Core and Parlament.

   6. Merchant - Those leaders, who were not included in the parlament.

   5. Salesman - Merchant with a small amount of property or with a stall.

  4.1 Profiteer - Small merchant.
  4.2 Hunter - A traveller in search of rare objects. In case of promotion can be prmoted to Royal Guard.
  4.3 Guard - Usual guards, assigned to enterprises. Promoted directly to Royal Guard.

   3.1 Thief - No comments.
   3.2 Sabotauger - In-corp. group of bandits.

   2.1 Intermediate - A middle link between the Novice and higher ranks. I case of a merchant, promoted to profiteer.
   2.2 Informant - A corp. spy. A way to spice up your life in the beginning. Can be promoted to a profiteer.

    1. Beginner - First rank, only thing needed is to be active for a few weeks, until approved to promotion.
 
 Merchant type of promotions take place when the property of the merchant increases to a needed level.

 While in Parlament or in Core you will \"wear\" two ranks.

 You can\'t switch from the \"force\" squad to a \"merchant\" squad.

 P.S. This will probably work only with CB, and the ideas needs a little more thinking.

Hmmm.. are you aware of an organization called Trade Federation? They had more or less that objective... And, at least they said so, they are going to activity in CB, and seeing the low number of current trade centered guilds this is not of much need at the moment.. or so I think :P

 Oh wait, united in one guild? That\'s a strange thing, I mean not all guilds would be happy to merge in one big trade guild...

*Addition to the idea* The merchants could enter the guild with a different rank.

To Natrina:
 Not really guilds, but different shops, blacksmiths, e.t.c...

P.S. It\'s only an idea of a possible guild, and I\'m not going to create anything. So if anyone wants, go ahead.

Strange, I never heard about Union of Employees nor about Trade Federation, why am I so ignorant? The purpose of the given guild will be to set a control over market through uniting into one, big corporation. The guild will be oriented on diplomatic ways such as dividing the areas of influence and rent deals, however, there is a fighting group too, just in case...

It is a separate idea, so I decided to use another post.

The Intelligence Guild
Purpose: To be informed about everything and everybody. Be able to have an information business.
Description: It will be preferable for the people it the guild to be ether Rogues or Mages (both of those can hide). Guild will receive and keep secret and (not really) information. While the common information will be avaible on the guild site newspaper, for the secret info you will have to pay.

Hierarchy:
    9. Manager - makes sure, that the information is up to date and overlooks the newspaper.
  8.1 Main Editor - 2 people. All the incoming info goes through them. Give orders to low ranks. Assign themes for writers.
  8.2 Phantom - 3 people. Obey directly to the manager, most skilled spies in the guild. Able to get the information from anywhere... Their nicknames are kept in secret.
    7. Writer - is usually given more complex orders, such as an investigating article.
   6.1 Correspondent - to take interviews, write descriptions to events is their job....
   6.2 Airvision - squad, designed for getting secret information.
    5. Professional Informant - With time promoted to high onformant rank.
    4.Intermediate Informant - With time promoted to medium informant rank.
    3.Novice Informant - Low informant rank.

First off, hey Natrina!

Secondly...

The Trade Federation idea got bumped down.. it is now a Trade Forum which is pretty much inactive at the moment.  You can find it at http://tradeforum.dyndns.org .

The trade federation pretty much died when the war declaration was announced, causing several guilds to withdraw, and causing a big mess.  Plus, it was never on Kada\'s list anyways.

The intelligence guild, is this like some sort of gossip center? what kind of information do they keep? battle plans?secret alliances? who do the correspondents interview? GMs? Mods? ordinary PlaneShifters?

the union i mentioned previously is not a PS guild, its like all the people that work at places like Ralphs, Albertsons, Vons, they are one union. then there are other unions im not sure of, but unions support healthcare and whatnot. i may have misinterpreted (sp?) your idea, but since merchants, blacksmiths, etc. are joining together and helping each other, it kind of is like a union.

Mmmhh comming up with a new idea...

Brainstorm :D
Guilds with a goal: Good, evil, money, power, peace, destruction, knowledge.. - We have them
Idea: There is still plenty of room for the spiritual oriented guilds... We have Aliathi and... Who else?

Guilds who look out for certain groups: Unions etc. for workers, merchants, magicians, mercenaries - We have them
Idea: A guild of guards/watchmen?? Take no part in - and do not care the least for - politics, ideologies and the like. Just there to preserve the peace?
Idea: Or what about a guild of chemists and alchemists?

Guilds who gather around certain interests: Metallica (?!), fashion.. We have them
Idea: What about a guild that has sex, drugs and rock\'n\'roll as the main principle? Lots of orgies and party... I would definitely consider a membership there :P
Idea: We could have animal and treehugging guild too...
Idea: Dunno if there is a guild of artists.. Painters, Sculptors, dancers, musicians... etc

[/Rambling] Some of the ideas are prolly not even original at all :rolleyes: Even though they\'re not big and active guilds they have been thought out once before I bet

Try a guild that does absolutely nothing ... hmmm ... well maby do nothing but stuff like ... mindless tea partys sounds like a good idea, or mabey members could go fly a kite in every sense of the word, eat air, do stupid meaningless things like see who can stuff the most no. of twinkies in their mouths ( their gonna be gone soon) or lick the bottom of a 9-inch glass, and mabey just mabey .... na thats to much work ... :D

thats a guild i might quit the cabal for :P

Anyway, I\'ve got a great idea for a Druid/Bard guild, however, the problem would be finding people who would be willing to limit themselves to RPing people who are completely tied in with the earth, don\'t use weapons, that kind of thing. Not many people like that around.

Let me clear few vaguesnesses about the second guild.

 Basically, it will be the informantion agency, it will have a (daily, weekly?) newspaper published on the site. There will be some intresting game news such as game innovations, new conflicts, opinions about conflicts, information about oraganized new guilds and dismissal of old guilds e.t.c. As a secondary goal will be to gather secret information. Such as, who betrayed the rabbit Roger and what is after the universe (just kidding). Seriously it will gather information about possible encounters of the guild, in-guild secret kind of stuff... All that guild will be glad to share with anybody who would like to pay for it a small fee.

I suggest you change it before you post too many posts to turn back...

This is of course only if that is actually how you spell your name, and you spelt it wrong on the mercenary forums...
