Autorun and mouselook toggle
« on: October 14, 2004, 12:07:18 am »
One improvement I can se would be to impliment a key to toggle always run on since most people never walk it is too slow.  The other is instead of using the keyboard to toggle mouse look on and off which is a pain when it come to clicking on things to inspect or pickup use hold one of the mouse buttons down to use mouse look.  These improvements will help a lot later when it comes to combat and targeting.  HAving played EQ and Anarchy online i have found the less you have to use 2 hands at once to do basic actions like run  and move the better.  Pluse it is a pain to have to hit a key to toggle mouse look off whenever you need to use the pointer.
Other then that it looks good so far and i am looking forward to seeing the game progress.

I\'m very sure this is already implemented, I think they have improved the view system in CB (the next version)  also, there is an auto-run feature in Ciry\'s mod, not sure if it\'s in cb but this helps you play MB:

After you install the mods you probably want to install this fix I made, I just edited the Planeshift.cfg file so you don?t have to type your password all the time & so that you can actually connect, if you don?t set the server to ?planeshift.fragnetics.com? the game will no longer be able to connect:

(Just unzip to C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift just like you did the above mod)

This is out of the player guide on the website:

You can look around with mouse after pressing the # or \'/\' key.

Also, there is an autorun key, I think it is Q or W?  I haven\'t played in a while so someone correct me if I am wrong.

There ya go, autorun is R.  Thanks Boldstorm.  I knew it was up there somewhere. :P

I used to play EQ also (up until a few months ago) so both of those were also things I immediately looked for as well.  The furthest I got in the game was a 45 war, so I never got to see the high level game first hand, but I got close.  Also had two wizards in their 30\'s and some other misc. lower characters.

autorun (r) by default ony makers you run forward without you having to press any other buttons

by the way, did anyone tried to use autorun and then try to walk backwards?

it makes you walk really funny  :D

Chaotic mind, chaotic mind, where did i hide the point of what i was telling.....

How do you run without pressing [R]?
Ciry\'s mod has a Run Toggle so whenever you move you run instead of walk...

I believe mouselook and the camera system as a whole has been greatly improved in Crystal Blue.

As for running:
Press R to run forward automagically
Hold shift while using any of the arrow or \"WASD\" movement keys to \"run\" while the shift key is depressed.
install ciry\'s mod, and then press l to toggle lockrun, which causes you to run by default. (The keys that would normally make you \"walk\" unless shift was depressed now work as running)
