Forum Bug
« on: October 14, 2004, 10:36:34 am »
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I decided not to clutter up the MB bug forum, with a very small (repeatable) bug.

If you are viewing a forum (as in NOT at the main forum directory) or are reading a thread, next to \"welcome guest\" there is an option to register or login, if you follow the login link, and then instead of loging in you click on the register link  it does not display the agreement, but takes you direct to the register form. After filling the form it directs you to a blank page and stops. No email for activation is sent it just dies. I was only able to reproduce this with that single link. The register link next to \"welcome guest\" works properly.

I had exactally the same problem!  I am using firefox as well.  In fact I just logged out to see if it is still a problem and it is indeed.  I am using gentoo as my distro.  Anyone else have this problem?

This is exactally what I did to duplicate what Nerocon experienced.

1. From the forums main page I clicked on login
2. Next I clicked on register
3. Then I was presented with the registration form.  I was never asked to accept an agreement.  When I fill out the registration form and submit I am presented with a blank page just like Nerocon said.

Actually if I click directly on the register link above, thus bypassing the login link, I experience the same problem.

dustfinger.

I can only duplicate this when I use Nerocons method. The links of dustfinger also prduce the bug, but using the login button as described just results in it telling me that I entered invalid stuff, which is correct.

However, I noticed another effect that might be classified as \"bug\": when editing a post that is the last one of a thread, but this thread isn\'t the last one that has been posted to in the same forum (i.e., it\'s not at the top of the list), then the newly edited thread goes to the top (for a while), but the main page still lists the other thread\'s title as the most recent one. Clicking on the link takes you to the newly edited one, however.

not an issue anymore due to new forum software.   --neko
