well I played a lot of MMORPG and when I can\'t be able to use (or find) basic commands and hint to things to do without reading the (tons) of mans or faq... well there\'s some usability problem... But it\'s a tech demo so I can hope on future...

The interface actually is really uncomfortably. Now I know some of the keys and all needed to speak, move and look... but it\'s REALLY uncomfortably...

But I hope to see the new version soon... for now I test this one :D

Note1: in the site man the key for freelook is # or / but it must be # or \\ (or ? or ? for keyboards non US).
Note2: a nice key config panel? almost for some key... for now... (it\'s easy to do :P)

So.. Um... Did the thought of playing like \"an average newbie\" ever come to your mind? I mean, did you even bother asking any of the people currently online what to do? Those questions are answered at least 10 times per day, in MB, and if you had bothered doing that, you would notice that your statement; \"- newbie support... very poor.\" isn\'t quite true. Even if you don\'t read a lot of FAQs and fancy guides, you should still be able to read the site and figure out how to shout questions to people. Very simple. Even people who are below the \"average newbie\" stage have managed to do so. :)

This is one of the more helpful and friendly communities in the MMORPG world. If you just take a look around and accept people\'s help, be that through guides, FAQs or simply asking ingame, you\'ll notice just that. Noone here wants to tell you that you\'re an idiot noob blablabla like in every other game, simply because noone is more noob than the other, and noone has any reason to call others noobs (yet), and you as \"an average newbie\" have no reason not to read a very easy and useful FAQ, which contains every bit of detail you might need. :)

But okay... People don\'t even read what the installer says about MB being a tech demo, so why bother reading what the forum says.

He did ask some stuff while I was ingame I think... being the helpful friendly community we are, we all just ignored him :P

I was just wondering about this & asked, it seams that there is going to be a key config GUI so this is coming in CB...

Also to find out more about CB check this thread out: http://planeshift.oodlz.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=10002 it\'s up to date & is Chalked full of info, if you want to know something not answered that thread then just ask & someone will probably answer...

The date of the new version?

lol, I am just thinking of how many ppl got flamed for asking his question, but Phase 2 testing is beginning & this is the last testing as I know before the actually release, many bugs have been found & exterminated, so hopefully within the next couple of Weeks the testing will be done. it\'s hard to tell an exact date

Also, if you want to talk to the Dev\'s the frequently hang out in #Planeshift irc.freenode.net :)

CB Characters: Zeph Waterfox & Zeraph Waterfox MB: Zph

I\'m keen to know how many MMORPGs you were able to play without reading documentation... must have been very linear I\'d say.
Every time I am in MB, myself and at least three other people answer newbie questions, we do not really mind doing it, even though it would be very easy for someone to just... oh I don\'t know, read the forum specially constructed to help newbies... I know of many newbies who read it... are they \'above-average newbies\'? Are you sure you actually asked anyone? Would you like a little droid following you around to teach you, like in a certain other MMORPG? Perhaps a fairy like in Zelda?

I think you mean European, not \'non US\'... as I assure you I don\'t have that on my keyboard, and I\'m from Australia. It\'s not that insignificant, after all it is the BIGGEST island in the world... and smallest continent, we have two titles...

Sorry to bother you with my poor English and my posts I\'ll read only from now.

Your english is understandable, and that\'s a silly attitude.
This is what we do, we examine every discussion, and pick flaws in it, people learn this way, don\'t stop posting just because you were corrected.
The same thing happens to everyone, we are all here to help one another pretty much.
Continue to post, and to learn.
