I was recently introduced to another MMORPG that had, what I thought, was a brilliant idea and since I have seen no mention of something similar I thought I would \'wish\' it into existance.
It worked like this:
after players joined a team they were automatically set to a hot key (in the case of this game the Functions from 1-7) and you could use items/spells on that character simply by pressing the corisponding \'Party Key\'. In the case of both items and spells it used that which was waiting in your \'active item/skill/spell\' box (of which there was only one) as soon as you pressed the \'Party Key\'. It was working quite well and did all the distance checks (like using first aid from 100 meters) and the like. It allowed my Paladin to Res, Heal, Bless, Holy Armor and Hymn of Praise without ever having to go through the nastyness of mouse selecting the other party members, I could just \'bash\' away (or, more appropriatly hide behind a rock
