Too many guilds are accepting people of all professions (yeah, that is what my guild is all about but...shh).

Nothing overly revolutionary in it, pretty good setup... I doubt it will end up very popular but, you never know....FESFES is still around and that surprises all of us :P

As for the name I think it is fine for originality though, it doesn\'t quite describe the guild...at all...
<Jeraphon>oh khado
<Jeraphon>you so khrazy

:) Don\'t get me wrong, I don\'t accuse you for stealing anyone\'s name. I just believe that you have picked that name just because it sounds \"cool\" and not because it is a proper name for the guild. If you have \"knights\" in the name it suggests that the guild is a guild for knights.

I can\'t accept that argument, Draklar. \"Knight\'s Guild\" is almost an exact synonym to \"order\". This name will cause misunderstandings, but it doesn\'t really matter much. Go ahead if you really like the name so much...

Good, if most people haven\'t there will be less misunderstandings. :)

However it do mean what I say, (plus a dozen of other things, of course):

I don\'t see where it says so :/

Only place where \"knight\" is used is the example... but you can put priest, soldier, defender, lawn-mower or whatever in there and it still will sounds as good...

To my knowledge, knightly orders are only of the church..
The knights \"of the land\" fall into other categories.

Take eg. The Knights Templar... They are an order.

Lardhoc Aewheros: Your point is hardly a valid one, I\'m sorry to say.
Were this guild named \"Knight\'s guild\" then you have a point, as it is Arcane Knights, you cannot honestly say that it is synonomous with \'order\'.
Arcane Knights = Magic Soldiers
Group of Arcane Knights = Order of Magic Soldiers?
It is just a name, not a classification.

Oh, I think a bow craftsman is called a Bowyer? May be wrong...

um.. arcane != magic
arcane  = Mystery, something not understood, etc.

druke, I went for a linear definition...
I know it\'s wrong... I was just trying to show that \'Arcane Knights\' does not mean \'Order\' in any way.

Stop bringing in Arcane, Adeli. I can\'t possibly need to prove that Arcane is equal to Arcane. :D It is \"Knight\'s Guild\" that is similiar to \"Order\" as, as stated before, a society of Knight\'s can be called an order as well as a \"Knight\'s Guild\". Check this. As you can see in the related terms section to this massive definition of the word \"order\" you can find the word \"knighthood\". (Among tons of other words, you might need the search feature to find it.)

But it\'s nothing to argue over really, I must agree that my argument is rather(or very?) far-fetched. :) It is not as much the (far-fetched)similiarity with the name of the AO as the meaning of the name that bother me. Arcane Knights is neither especially for knights nor especially for people interested in the arcane but for everyone. Thus it is a very specific name for a most unspecific guild. It is only choosen because it sounds \"cool\". A cool name isn\'t everything Tomanaque, you need to come up with some new creative idea\'s to make your guild interesting. Anyways, good luck!

I will now leave this thread and its pointless discussions(that by the way is my fault), PM me if you have something to tell me about this post because I won\'t watch this thread anymore. Bye...

Well Tomanaque, once more, best of luck to your guild, in a way Lardhoc was right about the name, you should aim for something more vague.
I\'ll see you in Yliakum one day.
