Hardest thing in a Video Game
« on: October 27, 2004, 04:39:30 pm »
Out of all the video games and pc games in your life, what\'s absolutely the hardest thing you have ever done?

For me it was Xwing Alliance (PC):

Mission: Protecting a Corellian Blockade Runner from a Star Destroyer and two squadrons of Assault Gunboats with only having an Xwing and three wingmen to protect the ship.
My name is NOT pronounced, \"Kway-per,\" it\'s pronounced \"Kye-per.\"

Hardest thing i have done is on battle of Yavin trying to take down a whole star destroyer + gun turrets + ties with 1 X wing (all my wingmates had been killed) I failed at it. Dam that was a bad day for the rebolution.

Argh is this Star Wars X-Wing Alliance a really old game because I use to have one for Dos that was ancient and you could fly in the different airships and do missions defending, attacking etc? Maybe this is completely different..

The hardest thing I completed (not the hardest thing I attempted) was beating the Aztec level of Goldeneye on 007 difficulty; with AIdamage 200%, AIHealth 200%, AIAccuracy 100%, and AIReactionSpeed 200%. I fell victim of a April Fools prank made by a magazine I have, EGM, that fooled readers that by completing the level at those settings, they would gain a secret cheat to gain more characters in multiplayer.  I spent weeks trying to beat the level. When I finally did, and didn\'t get the cheat, I was severly pissed. I didn\'t find out that it was a prank until the next issue.

F-Zero X is pretty hard too.
Beware that I am distorted in my wording if you do not understand me at all.

I never got stuck on X-Wing Alliance.
For me it is probably playing UT 99 and 2004 singleplayer on godlike or probably playing FarCry on realistic. I just dont find games very challenging :O

Staying alive , period. When playing on ub3r hard mode you slowly view death as a major set back when you didnt quick save the last 5 mins :D

Then when you do manage to save
this is what usually happens

\"crapo i just died ... again... heck ill get him the moment he pops his head out of that wall ... \" wash, rinse, repeat

No I know what I mean. Battle of Yavin is a free game. Look for it on the net.

hmm, one of the freelancer missions on hardest difficulty.. I think you\'re flying through unstable jump rings, then you have to blow up a couple of giant battle cruisers, and most of your squadron get blown up within 5 min, leaving you against 100/1 odds :/

Yeah, I did it :D

Hardest thing I ever did was to put down the controller and actually stop playing Final Fantasy VII when I first got it.  :P

The last American level in Battlezone was pretty hard,   but even harder was a Total Annihilation skirmish match of me vs 9 computer opponents on hard allied against me.  That was about a 5 hour game, the first two and a half of which I was being attacked non-stop.  Heh, I had all 10 hotkeys pointing to my nuke silos which were running constantly.  Most TA players nowadays can do that, but only because only the hardcore ones are left.

In X-Wing alliance one of the last missions you have to help in stealing a shuttle from a base. However at the moment the shuttle has been taken hell brakes lose. Never made that one, finally i decided to \'skip\' the mission.

Also in Diablo 2 i still have to face a very tough moment. Right now im at hell dificulty in the extension at the quest where you\'ve got to defeat a couple of statues. In fact they nearly did me in at the second difficulty level. I sure was glad i had spread full rejuvenation potions all over the place before starting the fight.

And in Dark Forces, the final mission with the last boss level. Though i had many lives i lost all but the last of em in that mission and while duelling that guy. With the last life and little ammo he appeared to be right in front of the door of the elevator where i stood. So i had no room to dotch anything Scared as hell i opened the door. I was extremely lucky as the door didnt fully open and i could shoot the b*stard in his feet.

Just to name a couple of situations...

btw why does b*stard become peanut when posted?
