There could be a java IRC applet in this forum so that the devs have a single place to hang around and so that they will be more tied to the forum ...dunno just thought it would make things better

If there were a Java IRC chat applet here, the devs would certainly not hang out in it.

Reason? Just look around you... Think of all the spammed questions, annoying newbies, suckups, everyone wasting their time... they\'d never get any work done.

On the other hand, they may just ignore everyone in it. But then, that defeats the point of having it in the first place...

Why would a forum based IRC channel be better than the numerous IRC channels they already have...?

And personally I don\'t want the devs hanging around in one place...they should be, oh I dunno, dev\'ing....

dev\'ing, I like that  also, I think that it would be a bad idea, seeing as many people don\'t even have java (me, plus many other linux users) and it would be to clogged up to be useful. Just use #planeshift on irc.quakenet.org
