1) You can only /dig for minerals and other stuff in predefined areas in CB, but you can\'t dig holes into the ground. Why? 1. The engine does not support dynamic changes to the maps (afaik) and 2. even if it does, you would have much higher system requirements due to the needed calculation/rebuild of the map in realtime. Plus, you would have to sync the changes with all other players and the server. It might work in a singleplayer game like Red Faction, but not in a MMORPG.

2) Flying isn\'t currently implemented at all, but might be added in a release far far in the future.  And the only race able to fly by themselves will be the Klyros, dunno if the other races will be able to fly (using a spell for example) other than by riding on a creature\'s back. Why? The Klyros have wings and the others not. And such a \"fly spell\" is not implemented yet either.

PS: Please use correct grammar, \'Y\' is\'t a valid word :P
In general, take your time when you post and check it with the preview button before you publish it to the outer world ;)

Karosh is right just too many other things that are more important to work on than right now.

Secondly, Karosh who gives a damn about his typing, sheesh...as long as you understood it.
My name is NOT pronounced, \"Kway-per,\" it\'s pronounced \"Kye-per.\"

I think he was asking whether you can fly without an NPC directing you, like using a pterosaur (which I don\'t consider an NPC), which will be possible some day.

The digging idea is nice and might even work some day, because
- the tunnel will only grow slowly, giving clients enough time to update
- the tunnel will only need to be updated when entered, which will not happen frequently
- the tunnel entrance will not be more overhead than any MOB AFAICS, but they\'ll be less common (like you\'d be fined for digging in public or something :) )

As for the spelling: this is chatspeak, but this is a forum. So while it\'s OK to use abbreviations for long phrases (like IMO), short words (like \"why\") should be spelled out, it\'s not that time consuming. Also, I think that it is a sign of respect to try to use proper grammar and spelling, even \"if you can understand the meaning\" if it\'s not being used.

Digging a tunnel would probably be too advanced for the game. But who knows technolgy is growing really fast we might be in luck   :))

First of all: I don\'t give a damn about my typing, Kuiper :P
I always check my replies before I post them. Sometimes I don\'t get every error, but when I notice it later, I correct it. And common abbreviations are ok, I don\'t have anything against them. But like Seytra said, it\'s a matter of respect. Bad spelling stamps \"N00b\" on your head, regardless if it\'s true or not. But this is getting way too off-topic.

Digging a tunnel is a cool idea, indeed, but just imagine the cpu time, harddisk speed and bandwidth needed for it. The game would have a much lower performance than it already has, since it has to recalculate the map, send the data, write the changes to the zipped world file, etc. like I mentioned before.  Speaking of bandwidth: you have to take those guys with a 56k connection into account too. It\'s not so easy you might think. There is a reason that there are only 2 games (afaik) on the market with such a \"dynamic world change ability\". But who knows, maybe CS will be able to handle this in a few years too.

Diggin a tunnel, tho very slowly, so the server can update all to every user. But then the whole secret of the tunnel is gone. You can read/look up where the tunnel is, and where its heading. The enemy will be waiting in full armor for you.

No, they\'ll not know about the tunnel, because ppl. will only receive information about it if they see it, which will not be the case for most players. This can be done serverside (i.e., you need to be inside the tunnel to see where it might head, and you need to be near the entrance to see it, so even when modding this information wouldn\'t be available to the client.

I don\'t see why we have to use 10x more brainpower just to figure out what he said if he\'s too lazy to type maturely...

Karosh: Isn\'t /dig a bit \'NDA\'? I havn\'t seen it officially announced anywhere...
