Should We Ship or Should We Slip
« on: November 14, 2004, 12:22:55 am »
Based on parody by: Allan \"The Exhausted\" Stojanovic
Original: \"Should I Stay or Should I Go?\" (Clash)

aarobber\'s gonna outright flip.
Should we ship or should we slip?
If you want it all real fine.
We\'ll be here \'til the end of time.
So you got to let us know.
Should we ship or should we slip?

It?s always build, build, build.
Venge is happy, the rest are thrilled.
There are new devs all around,
but Paxx is nowhere to be found.
Talad has got out his whip!
So should we ship or should we slip?

Should we ship or should we slip now?
Should we ship or should we slip now?
If we slip there will be trouble.
If we ship it will be double.
So come on and let us know.

This indecision?s killing me.
There?s no stopping, set CB free.
Niber just wants to have fun,
and QuantumG jumps the gun,
while acraig tries to right the ship.
Should we ship or should we slip?

Should we ship or should we slip?
If we slip there will be trouble.
And if we ship it will be double.
So you gotta let us know!
Should we ship or should we slip?

Based on the first round of testing (which I was involved in), my personal recommendation is that CB should slip for the time being. I haven\'t tried the latest version though, so I don\'t claim to know the current situation, but I think that getting a better quality demo out would be preferable since there is no financial pressure or deadlines that the team has to meet.

Though there are forum browsers and fans going insane.
An officer actually offered me an rubber stamp that said \"insane\" the other day. *simpsons reference*
I like the song though *still swaying*

Haha, when I read the thread title I immediately thought of the song, which I was listening to on the radio last night.  I\'m on the working-the-bugs-out side of things, although stuff has improved considerably.

Of course, the secret belief that it\'ll keep slipping isn\'t particularly motivating, and I have a lot of wedding planning to do, but I really do believe I can deliver a fully functional Mac version when CB ships :)

Ok I am saving this and quoting it for the post that seems to come every few days as to when a Mac version is getting released.
You know you have to get this done now right ;)

SHIP!!!!
I\'ve waited for too long so I don\'t mind a few bugs as long as they don\'t totally compromise gameplay. If anyone played Half Life 2 as soon as it was released knows what I am talking about. There are some annoying bugs but the game is ubercool.

Most of the bugs that get dealt with severly compromise gameplay .. crashing, commands doing bizarre things.. probably the only thing that could potentially be ignored are graphical glitches and missing features, and after all the work our artists put in we wouldn\'t want to make them look bad!
