Since this is a non profit game... i can see that there will be problems with favoritism(??)... errr... developers or members of the team could ban someone forever due to a bias or such...

Ex.
1. Jack is a thief, he steals everything from everyone...
2. He steals off a friend of the developer
3. Developer gives item back to his friend for free
    or
    Developer bans/kick/delete/ Jack...

I am not talking about abusing the game... just simple acts like being an ass but within game rules...

Maybe Jack should have been more careful. If Jack started to prey on players who did not know how to protect themselves then Jack should be punished. Either by the other players or by someone in a position of authority.

But I don\'t think your post was about PvP. Its about favoritism and how it will be more widespread in a free game. I agree with you, but I think people need to get something out of all their hard work, and being able to help a friend out is a nice thing. Especially if they want that friend to keep playing with them.

I know it sounds selfish, but think of it as a cleric praying to a deity for divine favor. Or a child crying for its food. Those people have the ear of the person in the position of power. And when their is a petition for favor, the likely hood that it will be granted will depend on how much the authority agrees with, gets something from, or likes the petitioner. Also how much work the authority has to go through inorder to grant the favor is involved in the decision.

I say, trying to eliminate favoritism is impossible. Changing and limiting it is not.

I never realy thouhg of that happening,but now you mention it, I can see the possibilities. But then it\'s only a game. But then so is monoply and i hate it when the bank manager stealy money for their own purposes.
But i\'m sure the PS team are all fair and noce, and wouldn\'t ever do anything like that.

This would be like cheating and we all hate cheating... or at least I do. Developers abusing their power like that should be found and shot.

I only have played a couple of games where that happens. It is quite annoying for high lvl players to get things from the higher ups just because they been there from the beginning. But hey! I have been here forever so maybe I will be one of those players this time. I am neither for nor against it, as it will happen anyway. Maybe those older players have helped out enough to get their perks...?

I for one think its possible for stuff like that to happen, but i dont think that it will. the devs for ps are pretty good and im sure they would play fair on ps.  I dont think theyre going to just ban someoen cause they dont like em or something like that.

The whole point of building this is to make a really neat world and then see what develops.  It\'s like an experiment, and the devs are all very passionate about the \"pure\" RPG experience.

I can assure you that (aside from making themselves god-like) there will be no favoritism at all in this game.  ;-)

I think there\'s not much point in playing fair and breaking a sweat leveling your character if things aren\'t fair. That\'s why I hate cheating; it takes away from the realism of the world.
