« on: November 20, 2004, 10:12:30 pm »
hey guys, it took me like 10 mins to enter the game, and then after i entered, its really slow, i cant even move.
so, anyone know what the minimal system requirements should be?

mine
************
p3 900
32 MB graphic card
128 MB RAM
WIN XP
************

so ya, i tried every mode including safe mode, but its still too laggy. i even set it as 640*480 in 8 bit, i also turned off the music and sound(except i could still hear music).

I\'m suprised you can even load Windows XP with such a small amount of RAM. You definitely don\'t have enough to play PS... or any other 3D game, really.

I cant stress this enough. Update your video drivers. Ill bet that youre using the stock ones that came with windows XP. I hear that those dont have openGL support. Update!

With 128mb of RAM and an XP system I wouldn\'t even try and run it in Open GL mode.

Getting XP to work well with 128mb is easy, if you dont mind shutting down almost every service. (who needs remote registry besides server admins anyway. And that darn Security Center that comes with SP2. *shudders*) anyway, my laptop with 128mb runs XP, with 100mb swap, and 64mb RAM free, so...

You should disable everything you don\'t need anyway, because it\'ll make you less prone to attacks. Seriously, this is one of the most basic yet most important rules of computer security, and of course one that Microtheft still doesn\'t have a clue of.

Get more RAM... and a new video card. 32 mb doesnt cut it anymore

a 32mb graphics card is just fine. if you can match or exceed my specs you will be good

551mhz p3
256mb RAM
32mb ATI Rage fury
Win XP (pro)
and a 20gig harddrive

so yea, i say update your ram, after that you should be running pretty smooth

The RPC backbone with all it\'s children are one of the most important things in Windows :) Good luck disabling it :P

this is not a videocard problem !!!
128Mb of RAM is enough to play on 3D games but not MB : I\'ve a 32Mb video card under a notebook ! but the problem I had was there were only (absolutly sorry for you twiest) 256Mb of RAM. Since I\'ve 512Mb there is no problem under Windows but under Linux I never fund how to install MB... CB thats ok but MB absolutly no way...

Sure it\'s not a videocard problem. But it would help alot to have decent specs in everything. More videocard RAM takes the strain off the rest of your RAM. And with such poor amounts either way, he has problems. :P

like everyone else has said really his only problem is his ram and we should take into consideration a thing called budget machines. Not everyone has the money or the will to go blow a couple hundred for a new videocard or a bigger HD. and besides twiests question was why was the game so laggy. so telling him to just go buy a new system i\'m sure wasnt the solution he was looking for.

What about dial-up.  People say that each new char in the game uses .1kb/s.  Won\'t that add up, especially me cuz my internets goes at 21.6kbs.  And I live in the boonies so I can\'t get high-speed.
