Search for username

Although there is an option for this, on this moment this option is not working at all and it would be a really nice feature.

What exactly isn\'t working?
What that does is searches for posts by Username. I did a few test searches and they seemed to work fine.

Not for me, I looked for posts by Kada using the search button in a particular forum, chose exact username but I still got a lot of posts by people who\'s names bared only a slight resemblence to hers.

Yes, this doesn\'t work. It however does work if you use the \"search\" button on the posts or profiles of the respective user. Therefore, the search form seems to have a bug, not the search function itself.
In fact, the search form does have another bug: if you try to search but uncheck \"Search in whole post\", without checking \"search in subjects\", it doesn\'t give an error. Afterwards, you get an SQL error because the syntax was invalid if you entered a search term.

About forum bugs, it\'s best to alert the creators of the boards (WoltLab), since the devs can\'t really debug a forum aswell as a game. :)

Yes, I\'m sure they\'re multi-multi-multi-tasking trying to get rid of 300+ bugs so they can release CB before Christmas. This is hardly a priority- they didn\'t even create these boards.

Especially as a workaround is in place (userlist->profile->search).
Also, WoltLab has released a new version of BB, therefore they\'ll probably not bother fixing this version, and even if, if the devs would have to implement the fixes, I\'d rather leave them out to not slow down CB development, as long as they aren\'t crucial, which AFAICS isn\'t the case.

Yes, but how often are you performing such a search? Also, more often than not, you\'ll be doing this kind of search in response to a post by the person, or a PM, in which case you already have direct access to the member\'s profile anyway to immediately perform the search. In fact, you don\'t even need to visit the profile, as the search button is already at the top right of posts, and in PMs you just need to click at the username (in the inbox) to get to their profile to perform the search.

not an issue anymore with the new forum software.   --neko
