An idea for mage weapons....

I go an idea... Why not create weapons for mages which would make more damage if the caster has special magic skils. Eg: \"Dark sword  damage 2d6 +1 for each lvl of dark way\" What do you think ?? (the number are just an example)

Allow me to change the idea around abit. It\'s a stereo type for mages to use staff/wand weapons, in those cases they have natural powers, but since you seem to want the ability to melee how about a spell that allows you to create a blade at the end of your weapon temporarily. This blade could potentially extend weapon durability if such a system is in place, though depending in your skill the blade strength varies.

I think the Final Fantasy series of games called combat/melee mages Red Mages.
I like taking things literally, going overboard is fun! Now... why do I keep getting odd looks?

like the DnD Druid spell, Shilleilagh.  ho, hum, unarmed druid...Bzzt, now he\'s holding a glowing warclub, oh dear...

Basically creating magic weapons that only the caster can use and which only last for a short time.  Like summoning a pet, but sharper.

You\'ll see there would be more person who will be trying to sell/trade items than in the battlefield ! :-D
