what kind of new npc you wanna see in futures updates
« on: December 05, 2004, 09:55:05 pm »
To help developpers to find another ideas (I\'m sure they dont need but I wanna help as I\'m able to help...), I think we could give some example of npc we would like to see in the future releases (as my npc mage with frogs).

You can say here :
- what kind of creature it is
-what he can do
- the quest they could give

BUT please dont tell us what will happened after in the quest (because of cheating and lost of enjoyment)

Ok everyone else seemed to be brain dead so I\'ll start this up:
Tulok
-Mage
-Long grey hair and beard; red robe and hat; green staff.
-Teleports you to various places around PS
-Quest: \"The Lost Teleportation Portal\": Quest Description: Tulok has for centuries used one of the six teleportation portals created by Talad; the one he uses was specifically by Talad for him. However, a warlock has stolen the encantation scrolls and Tulok\'s staff. You have to find the warlock (defeating many monsters on the way and solving many puzzles) to reach the warlock\'s hideout and take back Tulok\'s possesions.
Reward: Tulok will teleport you to certain set up locations throughout PS (maybe each tow/city/shop has it\'s own pad on which you can chose to appear.

a guard master !
like in DAOC : we could see a guard master when he is practicing with the guard students. look (the forum dont keep the space so I must put some points...) :

.......................................
.......................................
.......O..................O.........
.......................................
.......................................
...O...........X...........O......
.......................................
.......................................
.........O................O.........
.......................................
.......................................

view from upside :
X is the master
O are the students

He\'s fighting and the student arrive to give some hit but he arrive too. Nobody dye but they always fight.

Oh I forgot, he must be a blademaster (with two swords)

Oh, I get what your saying. That\'s cool, like have the enemy team up on you with weaker duplicates of itself.
But what are the physical descriptions of the guard master?

bigger than the others with a great armour and a very long one-handed sword (with a shield I don\'t think it could be fun cause they\'ll everytime hit this one...).

we cant see his head because of his helmet,

I dont want to be too precize cause I just want to give an idea to the developpers to help them to find new idea but I don\'t want to force them to do precisely what I want...

And I don\'t want this post becomes a storywriting one ;-)

could it be a non player monster ? I mean people could speak with a monster who is non violent and give us a quest... for example, a goblin bannished from his kingdom because he has done a big mistakes and need to find something to be forgiven

Name:Bal\'Khan the Great
Race: Dwarf
Found: Some dwarven village; preferably a mining operation or something.
Physical Description: Short (of course), small limbs, bald except for a little spot of white hair on the back of his head.
Purpose: A dwarven warrior. Hires out NPCs to aid you in fighting (if they will ever implement this).
Quest: Bal\'Khan: \"Greetings. Could you help me out?\" (Multiple choice answers) \"Great! An army of Diaboli has stolen my magic sword \'Hagalad\'! Could you hunt this clan down, and return the sword to me?
Quest Reward: Imbues some magical properties upon the item of your choice (excluding potions, remedies, scrolls, books, etc.). May be saved for later use.

I think it would be a fun little quest. He could get you to talk to people around town and ask for any hint on where the clan might be. (And then a little bit of combat, so on...) I also like the idea of renting out NPCs, and I like the idea of imbuing an item with magical properties.

Name: Gleebin Aquotos

Race: Klyros

Description: A short teen-aged Klyros with ragged clothing who fishes from a large bridge, using a fishing-pole device to net fish from the river below.

Purpose: He can sell you aquatic foods he catches from the river, as well as give you a quest.

Quest: He askes you for a favor of seeking out a specific type of insect/plant/bait for him. This food will help him catch a rare type of fish from the river, and if you complete the quest, he will sell you as much as 3 portions of this aquatic delicacy. This rare fish may be required for another quest or special chemistry formulas. (Fish oil of Gleebin Trout) :P
Beware that I am distorted in my wording if you do not understand me at all.

I think saying what is necessary to complete the quest, even in vague terms is too much.

Velaria Annowen
Dermorian
Asks you to find her missing husband.
She has no idea where he may be, so you will need to do a lot of asking around.

I think that\'s vague enough.

I like Red Jelly Beans!

An insane beggar with horrible burn scars all over his face and hands.  Burns so bad that you cannot tell what race he is, or if it is indeed a man.  He wears a heap of mismatched half rancid clothing so thick that it is hard to see his true form.  The smell he expels is so awful that people get sick just being near him (maybe a status effect?).  He appears randomly through the lands, never in the same place more than once.

If you dare talk to him, he gives you a single object and says one thing;  \"Stop the apocalypse.\"  Then his body disappears, leaving only his tattered trappings behind... along with the faint sound of mad laughter on the wind.

Many who hear these three words are never heard from again.

@ Adeli--> Vague enough for you?

Disclaimer:  Very few people are allowed to take this quest.  Once you begin, you MUST  finish.  Failure will result in perma-death .

No one else has any thoughts?

Well, I would like to see roaming bands of gypsy like people.  Like the Tinkers in The Wheel of Time.

I say, Perma Death TO Perma Death!!!
It?s evil! if someone doesn?t want to do \'some old fools stupid quest\' then they shouldn?t have to.. Unless the old fool comes and hunts you down where you sleep and sucks the mucus from your brain out your nose with a st.......

Well anyway,

-Zomporapa Du\'livalika
-Lemur
-A Pompous Lemur \"Noble\"
-When you walk on his grass he says \"oh! You... thing! Get off my grass this instant! its dirty enough!! You common scum! away with you beggar!!\"

ZellGa\'dess trembles at the sound of pompous lemurs...

I\'d also like to see a 3 piece \"Lode Jazzeth Ban\", with a Double Bass, Piano (or harpsichord or some magical box you hit) and drums.

Minor Inconvenience hahahahhha...!!

Well my NPC would be

Name: Rikimaru Salone
Race: Human
Description: Rikimaru is clad in a hooded cloak, covering his whole body. The hood shadows his face so that only his breath is visible from the freezing cold air of the temple he stand absent minded in. He is a religious man, vowed to silence. When he steps, he steps with such a short swift pace that his footsteps are not heard. He tends to the temple by light candals, praying, monitoring events from afar as to prevent mischief and thieving.

Quest: A quest could be given by a bunch of street kids to try and \'take care of him\' so they can steal the collection money. Other then that his a regular NPC that just walks around the temple.
