Yannaeh dead dermorian kingdom
« on: December 10, 2004, 11:47:04 pm »
Yannaeh was a big Kingdom. Now you just can find monsters there since Orcs slained a very lot of Yannaeh\'s inhabitants. Some of the Yannaeh massacre\'s survivors were burried there in memory of their lost family. But something odd happened and the dead corpses wake up (in fact only the Dermorian ones)

I ?/ Atmosphere :

1) the forest :
Yannaeh\'s surrounded by a very dense forest. In that forest there are a lot of common monsters. You could see some emisha (look here) too so go through the forest isn\'t very easy.

2) around the kingdom :
Around the kingdom, still in the forest you could find some corpses, broken armours, broken swords and some hanged corpses. There there are some dead Dermorians (category zombies).

The kingdom isn\'t built again. So there are a lot of holes in the city but as the gates were opened during the massacre, the gates must not be broken (this is a symbol). There are a lot of burnt houses and dead old citizens.

In that kingdom ennemies are :
- dermorian dead people
- dermorian dead knight (with armour and sword : hard to defeat)
- skeletons and dead corpses called back to life by necromancers

The end of the Yanneh\'s quest happens in a temple in the middle of the kingdom. The focus is on the temple because, it seems to be very news, there\'s no damage on it.

3) the temple :
In the temple the ennemies become very hard to defeat :
- dead dermorians soldiers
- dead dermorian archers
- dead dermorians dark/red sorcerers
- dead dermorians necromancers
=> BOSS
- the dissident : this is the only alive creature of Yannaeh (a Dermorian one) and you can\'t kill him alone.
the first spell he cast makes the dermorians players characters becomes confused/berserk but the very biggest problem is that... only a Dermorian can give the coup de grace to him. He is a very famous necromancer, his knowledge is dark, red and even crystal magic (because of his origins : he was a good sorcerer before). He is weak against crystal magics and strong against dark and red ones. He\'s taller than other Dermorian something like 2m25 and his face turned to black because of its way of magic choices...

II?/ What\'s good in this project ?
To create zomies you just need to create the specific skins based on dermorian ones. To create the kingdom you just need to redraw the already existed skins of city (hydlaa plaza for example), to create the temple you could change the skin of the dungeon and use it. To create the forst... maybe treecastle ones...

So as you can see it won\'t require a lot of developpers but a lot of 3D designers. And I think it could be a good update. If someone want to begin that project please post here just to see if you find it interesting...

@Djagg : I hope you like it. What do you think about it ? And if someone are ready to work on that project would you be ready to help them ? (not full time just to make this map become compatible with ps...)

@all : I hope I didn\'t made too many mistakes...

Nice, you\'ve got a lot of stuff. The only problem i can see is that i dont know if they want Zombies in planeshift, hehe. Doom 3, with a Long sword +3, i like :D

...there are no orcs in yliakum, and likely not zombies either, the devs thinks they are overused, and also the devs have stated that the best way not to get your quest in is to post all about it on the forums...
Kazorn is no more... the lemurs time has finaly come

Orcs is a part of our knowledge. I\'m not saying they\'ve done a bad choice but just that we could tell stories about Orcs without seeing these ones in the games. Because if you wanna forgot JRR Tolkien you could, please, forget Sindarin, elves, dwarves, Quenya and everythings relating to JRR Tolkien. Sorry but there\'s absolutly no Orc in my quest just dead dermorians. The world of death is a kind of fascinating one. People like it : this is certainly why there are so many mmorpg with zomies, ghouls, ghosts, and so one...

For sure if you are right there would not be any graveyard cause there are graveyard in every mmorpg and what kind of monster could people meet there... yeah, skeleton, zombies, and ghosts...

But I never said these Zombies were as every zombies from other games ! The dead Dermorian are just Dermorian who were called back to the life by a strange Sorcerer/necromancer (who was the master of magic from an old kingdom called Yannaeh).

I see what your saying, You make a good argument, but it is the dev\'s choice. I Agree that it is refreshing to have completely original monsters ect, but in saying that \"PS will not be like other mmorpgs\" or such what about the elves and dwarves and devil creatures?. But I guess you have to draw the line sumwhere

if it\'s just the zombies which could create a problem forget them... the soldier are pretty originals... but a monster will miss cause a soldier must be powerfull : if you are used to fight against trepor you\'ll be defeated very quickly by a soldier of Yannaeh. I\'m sorry : the translation of the soldiers of Yannaeh note isn\'t done for now : to resume they are very important and courageous for us cause they gave their life to find and protect survivors until their death... They are armoured dermorians. All you can see is their armour so I dont think developpers will find this idea is bad...

And everybody speak about developpers here but there is no post of developpers on this thread ! So developpers what are you thinking about that wish ???

it\'s a great idea. I\'m already working on 3D in planeshift and I will be happy to work with you in order to make this project. I hope you\'re good with the exporter because me not.

Hum, there are no graveyards in Planeshift, if I remember my story right we live in a giant stalagtite where dead people are thrown in conduits leading out of it which means a gigantic charnel somewhere at the bottom of the cave wherever that might be since nobody is really sure there is a bottom :))

Tolkien wasn\'t the one who came up with all the dwarves, elves, trolls and so on.

The Elves are naturally inclined to philosophy, meditation and mysticism, with a strong respect for the ancestors; in fact, in spite of the prohibition, some groups secretly belong to the cult of the dead, stealing corpses from the procedure of expulsion.

what Im calling zombies arent dead corpses walking like in Resident evil for me...

For example, they could wear clothes such as the emperor of Starwars... you cant see their dead face... all whats required is that they are walking a kind of funeral march and cry for their deaths...
