No. No! It can\'t be! Haha!! I can\'t believe I lived to see the day that Xordan calls himself a witch!

Hmm... now to figure out if that\'s an improvement....

De facto, witch-hunters weren\'t exactly hunting witches... they were fanatics hunting down evil, \"evil\" being all that they didn\'t like.
Plus witch = magic-user... you know that, right? :P

Witch-hunters were actually hunting witches, or at least, they called whoever they felt like killing at the time a witch.

plus

Witch = usually referring to female, and not exactly complimentary.

wrong and wrong.
Witch is used both for male and female. Look it up in Wicca or witchcraft. And it isn\'t used complimentary only in culture of people... who aren\'t witches. Mostly ignorants who think witch is ugly woman eating children :P

Oh yea, IT members suck... besides Sep and Aldarion but besides that every single of them that I met seems to... suck :P

He said \"usually\" and not \"only\", so he wasn\'t that wrong. Also my dictionary says:
Quote
[n]  a being (usually female) imagined to have special powers derived from the devil
[n]  a female sorcerer or magician
[n]  an ugly evil-looking old woman

Anyway, to stay on topic. IT sucks :D j/k

I rest my case. (Before you reply to this, please note that I\'m not saying this is the only way it can be defined, but it\'s definitely one of the ways it can be definied, and a very valid one. I have the right to use whichever definition suits my sense of humor.)

You\'ve met more IT members than Sep and Aldarion? I haven\'t.

*edit* Hmmm... Tybalt got here first.

The term Withch was coined by people who deemed their way to be the correct way of doing things!  eg.  when christianity was first introduced into the UK its most avid and fanatical followers persecuted the people who didnt convert to their way of thinking,  when the public view on this behaviour changed the only way for those with the smallmindedness to hate those who werent the same could continue; was to create the terms \'witch\' \'pagan\' \'heretic\'.

The term witch was usually associated with people who stuck to the old herbal and naturalistic cures; instead of praying to god for healing.  It was a way in which they could control people you ever heard \'the Lord is my shepard\'? The people in control of the Church at that time viewed its believers as sheep who should be controlled!

Umm.... was there any point to that? I know all about witches, pagans and heretics, and I did find the above a nice little summary, but how does it pertain to the subject at hand?

*edit* I\'ve been told that this comes across harsh. Sorry Bardialus.

How about checking what witch is in... I dunno... witchcraft?
And considering there\'s no \'male\' form of witch (no, warlock is a joke), it is used equally for males and females.

yes, what I said: \"Mostly ignorants who think witch is ugly woman eating children\"
again, look in witchcraft... or wicca. Not in dictionaries talking about fairy tales...

lol :)
I was trying to help by giving a different definition of the title of witch :(
I thought some people mightve found the information interesting as it wasnt just a definition but also an explanation as to why the term was used and created!

And you may know all about wiches etc, beleive it or not there are people out there that dont!

seriously, some people just think of them as women in pointy round black hats.
Arent they shakers?

*Looks around*

Umm... last time I checked, Planeshift was a lot more like a fairy tale than the real world. Therefore the fairy tale definition applies much more-so than does one referring to users of witchcraft, or devil-worshippers or something.

*Chuckles*

Just realized how totally lame this argument is.

Oh, and I was wrong then, I had met more IT members, and you\'re right, they\'re not exactly the cream of the crop, are they? :D

and here I was sitting here thinking it might turn into an interesting debate! oh well!

I think it might have something to do with the emissions from the moniters they used, either that or soemthing to do with electromagnetic fields!  something happens to them that no-one can explain!
