IT site hack

well it was bound to happen eventually i woke up today to find www.seperot.com has been done over it claims to be a web worn or sth. i doubt anyone on ps is stupid enough to do that... anyone who knows much about it or how to prevent it happening again please post. ty :)

The beginning of the end of Incensio comes on the eve of this realms portal opening...a sign ;)

OOC: Very sorry to hear that, hope it gets fixed up..I don\'t know much about that kind of stuff but BoldStorm might he does this kind of stuff for a living just msg him on here on our forums ^^

It depends on what your are running on your site. Some portals ( like phpnuke I think ) are easier to crack than others.

They got in through phpbb probably. Unless you had the latest version it would have been easy to rip apart your stuff via an exploit in the code. Keep your site updated!!  :rolleyes:

The site wasn\'t defaced ( hacked ) the entire host has been defaced putting all the files on the street, but i doubt it was a hacker that does it for fun since the name of the defacer can\'t be traced anywhere.

I think this is something personall against the host since every possible internet file has been defaced.

Shamefull for me, i lost the backup of the website so i have to copmletely redesign and rebuild it from scratch, and there wasn\'t something running for cms, it wasn\'t that dynamic yet.

The forums are still online and an important part of the guild atm.

The IT will be back, bigger and better then know to mankind.

Hmm, looks like Depth will still have to deal with IT, or vice versa.  :]

Anyway, sorry to hear that. Your entire Seperot.com is... defaced? That includes other things besides IT doesn\'t it? That sucks...

Okay i put a part of the site back online again, the previous site is gone, the way it looked and worked, my backup is gone also so i had nothing left to do then rebuild the entire site.

Almost every section is back online except for some minor pages, which will be finished asap.

If i made some mistakes on the site, please let me know, that way i can make it working for all of us.
