HTML+CSS1/2 unsupported?
« on: December 23, 2004, 10:09:10 am »
So I was taught a while ago that CSS1 and CSS2 were both supported by all browsers. But I was going merrily along building the new rangers page an behold Opera wont properly render the styles, forcing me to use the old HTML workarounds inorder to make it all work.
Is this just me having a DTD issue (currently set to transitional 4.0) with the page, or is Opera really not CSS compliant...and if Opera is not am I going to have problems with Firefox, Mozzila and the others as well?
[dramatic] Alas, will all my code need to be redundant and unproffesional looking?[/dramatic]
Anyone?  ?(

check with the w3c.org thingy if it is fully compliant, if they say it is, it should work perfect under every browser.

css is fully compatible with firefox, im pretty sure.  Ive never had any problems with it.  Im suprised you found that with opera, i thought opera was meant to be really professional?..

So, yea...Dorbian was right. I needed to verify.
A: My DTD was bad (should have ben set to XHTML 1.0)
B: So many CSS2 errors
C: Other bad things.

Thanks Dorbian :)

One of the things i still like pretty much in opera is the possebility to bypass site-dilivered-css-styles.
Especialy if they contain errors :D

Chaotic mind, chaotic mind, where did i hide the point of what i was telling.....
